Hello
Back again. I thought I would share a couple of quilts I have been working on.
Hubby’s secretary is going to be a grandma for the first time so I have been making a couple of quilts.
First
This
became this
I cut the pre washed fabrics into 3.5″ squares and alternated the bright squares with the elephant print. It is backed with yellow homespun and finished with a grey stripe binding. I quilted rows only. The finished size is 91cm x 99cm.
And this
This is a work in progress. I am using this to make a disappearing nine patch quilt.
I have cut the fabrics into 5.5″ squares. I have sewn the squares into nine patches ready for me to cut into quarters, turn and re stitch.
For both these quilts I am using my trusty treadle sewing machine to do the sewing. Love the nice even stitch this machine gives me.
Hopefully I will be back again soon.
I have some new paper crafting goodies so I hope to play with them.
Thanks for stopping
Cheers
Vicki
And this cold snap we’re having here in Victoria just calls for something like this to do! Love your colour choices, Vicki!
For sure I think I need to turn on the heater!
Love both but the pink one appeals more to me. So creative.
Thanks Susan. I hope to finish it soonish will update when I do.
