Hello
If you haven’t heard the Crafting with Dragonflies challenge blog is back.
First challenge can be found here
I am happy to hear Hilde is upto running this again.
It was a little prompt for me to get some butterflies who have been sitting on my workspace onto a card!
So while I was linking up to this challenge I will also link up to the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge here
I stamped these butterflies a couple of weeks ago and that was as far as I got. I have been busy knitting and haven’t got back to my workspace.
I started with a whisper white thick card base. The butterflies are stamped from SU Watercolor Wings in crushed curry marker, daffodil delight ink and memento tuxedo black ink onto a scrap of whisper white cardstock.
I then die cut with the co ordinating framelits. I finished the buttefly with black rhinestones. The pattern paper is from SU Cherry on top mounted onto black cardstock. The sentiment is from SU Butterfly Basics.
As I had a few more butterflies cut out I created a couple more cards.
and to finish off today
Mr 17 has an 18th this weekend and needed a card. I coloured this Jane’s Doodles digital image some time ago with alcohol markers and he picked this for the card front.
I finished off with Papersmooches Digits and numbers dies and mounted onto co ordinating cardstock.
I hope you have a great weekend planned.
This morning I have been marshaling at a walk-a-thon for Ms 10. Tomorrow we have only 2 games of netball (down from 4). Ms 15 & Ms 19’s team is in the first preliminary final. To round out the weekend we have a few parties and the normal mum’s taxi service will be running.
Hope to be back soon with some more creations.
I have just committed myself to an Artisan Market in my local area. Will post details later.
Thanks for stopping
Cheers
Vicki
You are amazing! Love the cards – especially the 18th image; love that it was picked! Are you going to the Paperific in Melb. at the end of August? We will be arriving in Melbourne on the Sat.morning off the boat and I am booking in. If you were going to be there, I though we could meet for a coffee!
Thanks Susan. What a great idea. Maybe we can touch base a few days before and make plans. It would be lovely.
These cards are gorgeous, love the butterfly die cut….Thanks so much for playing along with us at Crafting with Dragonflies, blessings HIlde
Thanks Hilde. and thank you for putting this together again.
Love both of those cards Vicki! Butterflies are always perfect for almost any occasion and giraffes are so cute! Who would have thought to use one for an 18th – good on your son for seeing its potential! Good luck with your Artisan Market – it should be good fun, weather permitting!
Thanks Ann. My son’s friends are not typical teenage boys. Actually one is on the voice at the moment – brings a new level of interest to the show from this family.
Total fun giraffe and loving the elegance of the butterfly Vicki! Can’t wait to see what you’ve been knitting!
Thanks Therese. I need to take some pics for my ravelry page. I am knitting a pale blue bamboo jumper for me. I have been watching a little extra tv lately. One of my son’s friends is on the voice and I don’t normally watch hence why my stamping has been a little less.
Hi Vicki, I smiled when I saw your card with me having just finished one using some of the exact same elements. Always love a layered butterfly. Very pretty. Thanks so much for joining us this week at Stamp Ink Paper. Carolyn xx
Thanks Carolyn, I have a soft spot for butterflies they are so hard to resist. Your card is lovely too – I saw a pic on pinterest.
Ah, Vicki, I have this wonderful visual of those butterflies all tame and walking about on your desk space, patiently waiting to be applied to your awesome set of cards! And I love the fun 18th birthday card, too!! Enjoy your day!! Hugs, Darnell
Thanks Darnell. They did move around a little waiting patiently for me – How did you know?
Love your butterfly cards Vicki! Thanks so much for joining us at SIP for Challenge #8!
Thanks Tina.
Absolutely love how you set up the butterfly on your card. It looks like it’s leaping off the front. Thank you for joining us this week down at the SIP.
Thanks Maggie.
Wowsers! You have been busy! Have been scrolling back through your recent posts! This butterfly is so striking with the black die cut on top. And the 18th is adorable! Super creative! Hugs xxx
