Hello
If you have been following me for sometime you would know Ms E (20) is always forward and specific in her requests for cards. Well we have hit a new level. I was requested to make a card by her friend’s boyfriend to give to the said friend for her 21st! Follow?
How could I say no.
I started by heat embossing “s” a number of times onto orange card stock which I then punched out with 3/4″ circle punch. These were added to the main card front with some being added with foam tape. Some of you may be wondering what the “s” circle things are. Ms A (11) thought they were bubbles! and Ms S (16) thought they were smarties. She was pretty close – the request was for orange skittles. I believe Smarties don’t have an “s”. I thought there maybe to many skittles, but the response I got was “you can’t have too many skittles”
The sentiments and die cuts are from various sets from papersmooches, PTI, Uniko and Stampin UP!. And as requested I stamped words on the inside of the card.
I will link this up to the current challenge at Seize the birthday here – Anything Goes
One of the ladies I know is collecting hats for prem babies. I used a pattern from the Craftsy website here by Charm knits and another pattern I am not sure where I got it from. Thank you to the designers for their patterns.
Until next time
Thanks for visiting
Cheers

You are soooo creative! This is a super 21st birthday card – one out of the box! Your kids don’t let you rest on your laurels for long, do they? BTW – I have downloaded the preemie baby caps pattern, and intend to take it with me on a cruise later this year. I have tried to take card stuff, but it doesn’t work so maybe a little knitting or crocheting might be better! I’ll let you know if I’m successful:)
Thanks Ann. Lucky you to go on a cruise – I’m sure it will be here before you know it. Enjoy. These hats are super easy and use hardly any yarn at all. I started on normal needles for the band then went to DP because I really don’t like doing the purl stitch!
Love the little caps and the card is super – your kids are your marketing agents. Now all you need to do is convince them to pay for the materials, and then the time! i love the comment re the skittles too – so typical of the age!
Thanks Susan. Would I have enough $ to cover my hobby if they paid up?! It would at least be a start. I think they know they are on a good thing.
Beautiful card, Love how your daughter puts her order in. Nothing like made to order. Lovely little hats for the premie babies, such a wonderful idea. Cant knit myself for peanuts but I like to admire others work.
Thanks Aileen. The little hats are very simple and quick.
That gumnut baby beanie is soooooo adorable! Love the skittle card too! Hugs xx
Thanks Andrea.

Indeed, one can never have too many Skittles! I knew immediately what they were and I think your card is outrageous fun, Vicki!! It will be treasured! It’s so wonderful that you make so many caps for the wee little premmie miracle babies!! Hugs, Darnell
Thanks Darnell.
