Ah Christmas…

Hello

Today I have a Christmas Card which I am linking up to the current challenge at Scrapbook Boutique here

My inspiration was the gingham check and red. I have used some ancient Quickcutz dies with the central bauble is popped up with foam tape.  I think the dies were one of my first ever dies and the beginning of my shopping online for crafty supplies.  I had purchased a Quickutz die cutting machine from a local craft store and needed accessories to use with it, googled and found SBB.

Anyway back to my card. I also used some Cosmo Cricket Baby Jane pattern paper (also quiet old!) and another unknown pattern paper. I coloured the tops of the baubles with one of the kiddos Artline pens, you know the things on the book list the kiddos never use, you buy them anyway and hope. The deer is from ME  No Peeking coloured with copics and the sentiment is from ME Winter wonderland.  At the request of Ms 12 I added a little wink of stella to the scarf to finish off.

A little update on the exams in this house – in short they are done for this year.  Ms E (21) has finished her 4 year course in forensics and criminology currently deciding on her next step. Mr M (19) has just completed his 2nd year of Engineering & Robotics and Ms S (17) has finished her year 12 exams – results on 15th December.  She is pretty confidient she will have the right score to get into Oesteopathy.  Little Miss A (12) is almost finished her first year of high school.

Thanks for stopping and listening to my waffle!

I’ll be back soon – I have had a creative Sunday!

Cheers

Vicki

  1. I love your take on this month’s inspiration board Vikki – and I also love hearing your first encounters with SBB and die-cutting! Where would we all be without both of those contacts? My first online purchase was a Hero Arts butterfly stamp and die, which I was so unsure of, I had to telephone Evelyn (SBB) to hear first hand how I could use it – ha ha! As always she was so helpful and reassuring – and I was hooked! Back to your unique card – love that little image stamped and coloured on the edge of the bauble – a perfect addition! Good luck to all your students – I hope they find the job they love, continue successfully with their studies, or embark on the course of their dreams. It is such a wonderful time of their lives and I don’t resent any of the opportunities they have before them. The young ones are our future, that is for sure! Mum – you are doing a great job!

    1. Thanks Ann. I too have had to call Evelyn on a few occassions – it is so great to be able to pick up the phone and speak to her even with online shopping you sometimes need that person to person contact.

  2. A fun card, Vicki, a great combination of papers and colouring…nice also to see older items in the spotlight! Good luck to your smalls, all moving on with their lives so positively, it was lovely to read your proud comments, Dx
