Time for a challenge or two…

Hello

I have had a crafty week! I spent yesterday at the very first Altenew Workshop in Australia with the lovely Tasnim (and her family) and Therese from lostinpaper. I got to meet the lovely warm and extremely friendly Therese in person after years of talking through forums and blogs.  I also meet in person the lovely Aileen from colourandsparkle for the first time and loads of other crafty people.  I’ll share more in a later post as the sets we used have not been released yet. Yes I have decided my cards are blog worthy after all.

Anyway on with what else I have been creating.  I received some new sets last week and inked them up straight away – a rare thing indeed!

I have also made a conscience decision to make the NBUS pile on my desk extinct! The first cards are from my NBUS stash.  I do shop at times faster than I can create – I know I am not alone here!

My first card is using Concord and 9th Happy Day set which I have had for a while I teamed this with sentiments from Your next Stamp What not sentiments 4.  I made two cards using this set.  The first I coloured with watercolour pencils and added highlights with markers and the second I coloured with alcohol markers.

The first one I am entering into the challenge at Double D here and Bizzy Bec’s anything goes here.

and the second card using alcohol markers.  I fussy cut the main image and popped up with foam tabs.

My parcel was from Jane’s Doodles.  Jane had generously offered a free mini cupcake stamp set with orders on the recent International Women’s day.  Here it is coloured with alcohol markers and a sentiment from Jane’s Birthday Wishes set.

I also inked up Jane’s Doodles Magnolia and Mother’s Day sets.

and my last card for today is a request.  For sometime now I have been making cards for mum I know who gives her daughter chick themed cards.  This one is for easter and uses SU Honeycomb Happiness and ABS Easter Chickadee coloured with watercolour pencils and markers.

I commend you for getting to the end of this post! Thanks for stopping by.

Until next time

Cheers

  1. I agree with you Vikki about buying quicker than items can be used, but admire your aim to reduce your NBUS collection! How wonderful the craft day with our heroes sounds – I wasn’t able to attend sadly, but would have loved to have been there! I’m so pleased to hear how warm Therese is in person – I had no doubt she would have been – so many of those you mentioned seem like old friends, all through our shared love of crafting! This is a wonderfully supportive community and I feel blessed to be a part of it. Looking forward to seeing what more you can share in the days ahead:)

  2. You are soooo lucky you got to go the Altenew workshop, am sure you had a wonderful time. Awesome set of cards and great work on the NBUS pile, I know mine seems to only ever go up in size! Thanks so much for sharing your creativity at Bizzy Bec’s (c:

  3. What a delightful post, Vicki! How wonderful that you got to meet up with crafty friends! How wonderful that you are vowing to retackle that NBUS pile and make it extinct and how wonderful that you cracked on and gave us these amazing works of art to inspire us! Each one is fabulous with perfect coloring, ending with that sweet little chick and her Easter eggs!! Thank you! Hugs, Darnell

  4. Oh Yay, it was so fun to finally meet you in ‘person’ and the time flew by tooo quickly, so I think we need to do it all over again lol. Craft supplies? I have no idea what you are talking about… I always use mine immediately and then over and over, no, that’s not me, that’s someone else (wink). And Yes, you can share your cards before the stamps are released, so share away. And speaking of sharing, all your cards today are so wonderful, that Concord cake would have to be me all time fave stamp of a cake and you have made it look edible… and me, now I’m hungry. And that cute little chick, you have created the perfect happy little scene for it! Looking forward to our next meeting IRL x

    1. Thanks Therese. Yes the day did go tooo fast! and looking forward to the next time. I have had that concord & 9th set for ages and have loved everytime you have used it. 🙂 Glad you liked it. I checked the time no wonder you were hungry it was breakie time 🙂 I feel the consenus is we use one image once (even if there are heaps in a set) and move on rather quickly to another image/set!

  5. What lovely cards, and thank you for following my blog!, We did have an amazing day on Saturday didn’t we, and everyone was so lovely! And I so know what you mean with the crafting supplies LOL Happy crafting hugs XoX
