Bron’s 60th Birthday Blog and INSTA Hops #4 – CASEing the Catty from a Page in the Sixties.

Hello

Today I’m happy to be participating in Bronwyn’s 60th Birthday Blog (&Insta) Hop! This is month 4 of 6 months of hops in the lead up to Bronwyn’s special birthday in lieu of an overseas holiday which has been put on hold. What a great way to celebrate a special birthday.

This months inspiration is from the current Stampin Up Catalogue pages 60 through to 69. You should have arrived here from Catherine’s blog

If you have seen Bronwyn’s creations you know she makes amazing 3D cards.

I wanted to create something a little different and to show stamps can be used for other things other than cards and memory keeping. So I have decided to stamp onto a ready made puzzle and a calico bag, cause you have to keep the puzzle in something!

I stamped my image from Count on me with memento tuxedo black ink and coloured with SU markers and watercolour pencils. I did dab some of the colour off with a piece of paper towel. When I was happy with the colouring I restamped the image outline. When all was dry I finished by painting fabric fixative with a paintbrush over the stamped image. If you try this at home remember to put a scrap of card inside your bag to absorb the extra colour.

I have used the stamp sets Count on me (p61) and lovely you (p63) to create my puzzle design.

To create the puzzle I layed the images onto my stamparatus and stamped in quarters. Once the stamping was done I coloured with alcohol markers

I remembered to take a “before” photo after I had coloured one heart!

Thanks for stopping by and helping to celebrate in the lead up to Bronwyn’s special birthday. Next on the hop is Andrea.

If you missed a link or want to start from the start pop over to Bronwyn’s blog to get all the details of the blog and insta hops.

Until next time

Cheers

Vicki

More Recent makes…

Hello

Popping back to share a few more recent card makes

This one uses SU Driving by and Seriously the best stamp sets. I paper pierced parts of the combi. The pattern paper was perfect for a 60’s inspired combi.

Same combi this time coloured with alchol markers and the sentiment is from TCM stitched sentiments.

I had an unexpected day off today and spent the time cleaning and tidying my craft room. It is so much better when things are in their place!

Bye for now

Cheers

Vicki

So what have I been up to?

Hello

I didn’t intend to be away from blogging for so long! I’m sure I’ve said that before!!

Today I’m poping in to share some cards. I recently did a huge restock of my card stash. Here are just a few I have shared on insta/facebook.

Wedding Cards – sentiments from PTI and 3 tier wedding cake coloured with alchohol markers from Concord&9th.

More wedding cards again the sentiment is from PTI and the “Mr&Mrs” diecut is from kaisercraft.

I got on a bit of a roll with the onesies! Stamped onto pattern paper and die cut. Stamps from PTI and SU – I inked up some older sets here. I found the PTI set so much easier to use with a repositioning tool and made making multiples a breeze once I had selected the pattern paper.

More PTI inked up and again easier to use with a repositioning tool. Sentiment from YNS.

Some requested First Communion & Confirmation cards.

That’s all for now. Although I have more to share another day!

If you are in my part of the world you know we are heading form some wet and cold weather so stay warm and dry.

Until next time

Cheers

A few recent makes…

Hello – Oh dear time has got away from me once again!

Popping in today to share a few recent card makes.

First up my MIL celebrated a milestone birthday earlier this month.

Love the pop of red against the black and white.

Next up is a special request from a mum from school.

A personalised comfirmation card – I love that I can make cards like this. This one is a design/layout I have used a number of times. It just seems to work and this particular mum likes this layout.

Another personalised card, this time for a recent wedding a friend attended.

Again I have used these tiny punched flowers a number of times on cards, this time I used foil cardstock which IRL looked really shiny!

An Easter card requested by the same friend for her daughter.

A simply stenciled background and computer generated sentiment and popped up chicken, hand coloured and fussy cut.

And lastly the gift tags I made for my family’s Easter Treats.

A quick tag made using a set from Uniko.

Well that’s it for today. A big catch up.

Thanks for taking the time to stop

Until next time

Cheers

Parties!

Hello

I’m back to share a few more cards.

Mr 24 and Ms 22 both have parties this weekend and took these first 2 cards as fast as the ink dried!

How cute is this otter? Simple alcohol colouring. I added the “21” just in time for Mr 24 to head out the door.

This image from Driving by was again coloured with markers. It has gone off with Ms 22 for a friend’s birthday.

Lastly this one is for Quest 6 with Uniko’s birthday celebrations. I used Uniko Bright Butterflies dies, joyful butterflies digital paper and Simply Said stamp set. I finished the centres of the butterflies with a few rhinestones.

Thanks for stopping by

Uniko quest #1

Hello

Did you know Uniko has been celebrating their 10th Birthday?! What a great achievement Congratulations Bev. I have had a bit of fun this month participating in various quests which Bev has been running. This is my entry for Quest #1.

This is a teeny tiny card (3″ x 3″) stamped using Big and Bold wish and Simply Said stamp sets.

Thanks for stopping by

Finished and Gifted…

Hello

Popping in to share my latest quilt.

I did finish this a few weeks ago however I didn’t get to meet the new member of the family until yesterday. Such a gorgeous looking bub she is too.

The quilt top is 5 1/4″ squares set in a pattern which creates diamonds. When I checked what the nursery decor was going to be I was informed “muted neutrals”. Um brown tones came to mind. Off I went fabric shopping – any excuse! I found the lovely rainbow print and chose two solids from the pattern.

The back is a simple print. I quilted around the blocks and on the diagonal on my domestic machine. I bound with the darker of the solids. Now after purchasing the fabric and I had begun construction my Ms 17 spotted a pic on instagram of the nursery and informed me there was a rainbow print on the wall in the same tones as the fabric. Whew!

Now I couldn’t give a present without a card. I stamped the onesie from TGF onto some pattern paper and fussy cut out, popped onto some white card stock and added to card base. The sentiment is from Jane’s Doodles The sky’s the limit. Love making personalised cards.

Until next time

Restocking the stash…

Hello

Popping in to share a few more cards I made recently. It was fun to colour these up.

This little lady from AnnaBelle Stamps was fun to colour. I Fussy cut her out and popped her up on this tag die and then onto my card front.

This little monster is always fun to colour! Again I fussy cut and popped him up.

These 2 from Kaszazz came together super fast, simple stamping with my repositioning stamp tool.

Love the look on the bear’s face! They remind me of old story books.

A llama from Newtons Nook coloured with alcohol markers and popped up on to a background I created a while ago using a stencil, embossing paste and ink refill.

Another Llama from Newton’s Nook also coloured with alcohol markers and popped up on to a stencil/embossing paste background.

I loved the look of the pots so I stamped a few, coloured and popped 2 up with foam tabs.

I love this sentiment. So true!

So now the weather is a little cooler (for a day or so!) I intend to finish binding a quilt I made for another recent addition to the extended family. Fingers crossed I can pop back and share mid week.

Until next time

Cheers

Playing with Uniko stash…

Hello

Today I have a few Uniko cards to share. My card stash is rather depleted!

I was lucky enough to win 2 sets (Hello Lovely and Simply Said) from Uniko recently and when they arrived I was part way through restocking my card stash so they got inked up straight away!

These first two cards use the Hello Lovely set. I cololured extra images with alcohol markers, fussy cut them out and popped them ontop of the other images.

This card I used a combination of Originally Organic and Originally Organic Additions to make my own pattern paper. Again coloured with alcohol markers.

This next one I used Orginal Organic and coloured with alcohol markers.
Simple stamping with Organic wishes.

Lastly some paper piecing with Some Bunny.

I hope to be back again soon to share some more cards.

Cheers
