A few Christmas cards…

Hello.

I hope all is good in your part of the world.

I know some of you might be a little wet! Hope you are managing Ok.

You are not seeing triple! I coloured a bunch of Jane’s doodles images a while ago with alcohol markers and made some into these cards. All the images are fussy cut and some are popped up with foam tape. The sentiment is from ABS. I have a few more cards, I will share another day!

I don’t often share personal stuff, for those who have been following me from the start of my blogging journey know I am a mum of 4. When I started this blog my children were in primary and high school. Well I now have no children at school! My youngest finished her year 12 exams about a week ago. She will be 18 soon! Next year we will have one at uni and one completing his masters (child #2). Children #1 & #3 have both finished their studies and are working successfully in their chosen fields.

Thanks for stopping

cheers

Restocking the stash…

Hello

Popping in to share a few more cards I made recently. It was fun to colour these up.

This little lady from AnnaBelle Stamps was fun to colour. I Fussy cut her out and popped her up on this tag die and then onto my card front.

This little monster is always fun to colour! Again I fussy cut and popped him up.

These 2 from Kaszazz came together super fast, simple stamping with my repositioning stamp tool.

Love the look on the bear’s face! They remind me of old story books.

A llama from Newtons Nook coloured with alcohol markers and popped up on to a background I created a while ago using a stencil, embossing paste and ink refill.

Another Llama from Newton’s Nook also coloured with alcohol markers and popped up on to a stencil/embossing paste background.

I loved the look of the pots so I stamped a few, coloured and popped 2 up with foam tabs.

I love this sentiment. So true!

So now the weather is a little cooler (for a day or so!) I intend to finish binding a quilt I made for another recent addition to the extended family. Fingers crossed I can pop back and share mid week.

Until next time

Cheers

A little update on what I’ve been upto

Hello

Just thought I would pop in and share a few recent finished projects before I start the next one!

A bunch of finished cards – I had coloured for what seemed like ages so it was good to colour again.

A finished quilt as you go upcycled HST shirt quilt

and the reverse.

I love the extra texture with more quilting lines.

One sock down! However I have developed second sock syndrome 😉
A special 80th Birthday card for a special lady from my Days for Girls Group who had a birthday last week. With the news today she will be able to celebrate now.
Pirate pants made from a singlet top. The mum wanted some pants to make a complete outfit and with shops closed the only matching fabric was a singlet!
In this pic bub is wearing a cloth nappy, is 4 weeks old and around 3.8kg.

and of course a matching head band!

Until next time

Cheers

A long over due card share…

Hello

Popping in to share a few cards I have made recently.

My stash of cards has got pretty low!

Love these Zebras!
A couple of chickens. I seem to have become addicted to this diaroma card. Love the simplicity and it still fits flat into a normal C6 envelope.
A mouse from Kaszazz.
Elephants from WPlus9
Simply diecuts
More for Easter. I broke out a few ancient stencils and did a little sponging. I glossed half the ABS eggs (top left) and coloured the chick with alcohol markers before poppin him up with foam tabs.

The rest of today I am playing at the sewing machine!

Cheers

Requests …

Hello

I had some card requests recently.  Here are a few of my creations.

First up is Annabelle stamps little monster. Coloured with alcohol markers, fussy cut & popped up on card front.

Next I have a couple of cards made using Flourishes Kids at Play with sentiments from Uniquely and Jane’s Doodles.

I also have some Christmas cards to share.  These were inspired by Therese at Lostinpaper here.  These were quick to put together without colouring the elf image.

Thanks for stopping by

Inlaid Glitter…

Hello

Today I have an inlaid glitter card to share with you.

This is the current challenge at Unstampabelles Challenge #90 here

Stained Glass Techniques using Dies

 TWIST Use some Glitter

I started by die cutting a piece of glitter cardstock (for a more translucent glass look I should have used vellum) using my Annabelle Stamps Cuts by Design Border 1 die.  I adhered this to some double sided adhesive paper.  In the gaps I then added red glitter and pressed firmly with a roller (inlaid glitter!).  This gave me a glittery piece of cardstock which I then die cut with a bauble die 3 times.  I also die cut the bauble hangers from silver foil cardstock.  I assembled my baubles and adhered to my card front.  I finished the baubles with some ribbon bows and strings drawn with a cool grey copic multiliner and ruler.  Finished with a die cut Christmas sentiment cut from silver foil and foam.

I am also linking this card up to the current challenge at Sweet Stampin Christmas here

Anything Christmas Goes with an optional twist of Non-Traditional Colours.

Sorry no twist for me with this one!

Time for a challenge or two…

Hello

I have had a crafty week! I spent yesterday at the very first Altenew Workshop in Australia with the lovely Tasnim (and her family) and Therese from lostinpaper. I got to meet the lovely warm and extremely friendly Therese in person after years of talking through forums and blogs.  I also meet in person the lovely Aileen from colourandsparkle for the first time and loads of other crafty people.  I’ll share more in a later post as the sets we used have not been released yet. Yes I have decided my cards are blog worthy after all.

Anyway on with what else I have been creating.  I received some new sets last week and inked them up straight away – a rare thing indeed!

I have also made a conscience decision to make the NBUS pile on my desk extinct! The first cards are from my NBUS stash.  I do shop at times faster than I can create – I know I am not alone here!

My first card is using Concord and 9th Happy Day set which I have had for a while I teamed this with sentiments from Your next Stamp What not sentiments 4.  I made two cards using this set.  The first I coloured with watercolour pencils and added highlights with markers and the second I coloured with alcohol markers.

The first one I am entering into the challenge at Double D here and Bizzy Bec’s anything goes here.

GRAB OUR BADGE!

and the second card using alcohol markers.  I fussy cut the main image and popped up with foam tabs.

My parcel was from Jane’s Doodles.  Jane had generously offered a free mini cupcake stamp set with orders on the recent International Women’s day.  Here it is coloured with alcohol markers and a sentiment from Jane’s Birthday Wishes set.

I also inked up Jane’s Doodles Magnolia and Mother’s Day sets.

and my last card for today is a request.  For sometime now I have been making cards for mum I know who gives her daughter chick themed cards.  This one is for easter and uses SU Honeycomb Happiness and ABS Easter Chickadee coloured with watercolour pencils and markers.

I commend you for getting to the end of this post! Thanks for stopping by.

Until next time

Oh baby…

Hello

I’m popping in today to share a few baby cards.

I am linking up to the current challenge at ScrapbookBoutique here

Last week was a busy week with 2 friends from knitting group becoming grandmothers, my cousin became a grandma for the second time and one of my book club buddies welcomed another into her extended family.

One of my friends asked me to make a card.  So I made several. Sorry this is going to be a bit of a pic overload. Cause when I have everything out and I can’t decide I just get on a roll.  Especially with the Noah’s Ark.  Decided to make a few colour ways as I coloured up a few images at once.

Using ABS digital paper (the stripes match the shorts on the mood board), SU Made with Love, Su Baby’s first framelits and Simon Says Stamp baby.

Using Papersmooches Fascinators to create a shelf, ME Carnival Cupcakes & dies with digital pattern paper and ME just hatched.  Do you think the little creatures are to straight? I wanted them to look like they are sitting on a shelf maybe the little rabbit should be leaning to one side. What do you think?

This one uses PTI Sweet baby, SSS baby, stitched dies and circle dies.

SU Baby’s first framelits and SSS baby.

This is the one she chose. SU Two by Two coloured with alcohol markers die cut with circle die and layed onto doily die.

I stamped and coloured a few images while I had the markers out and made a few for my stash.

I recently resigned from my part time job so today is my first day I would normally be at work.  I have applied for a few jobs. So what am I going to do in the meantime? After a little bit of tiding up I plan to turn on the sewing machine and maybe make another card or two.  I finished a quilt last week which I will share another day. I started another one some time ago and would like to make some progress on it.

Thanks for stopping

Cheers

A little Easter Treat or 7…

Hello

Are we all in a sugar coma this morning?

I think some people at my place might be!

The April challenge at Unstampabelles is on now here

Unstampabelles Challenges

To ‘die’ for…….

TWIST  add a bird or two or three….

Yes, there is a Prize – two small die sets

IO Dies – Bunnies
AND
Cheery Lyn Dies – chicks
I made these for my Kiddos + Ms S’s boyfriend and his siblings – 7 in total for Easter. They were filled with flavoured eggs, smartie mini eggs and milkybar mini eggs. So for a little box you can fit a decent amount of yummy goodies.
They were pretty quick to make with 6″ x 6″ paper and the gift box punch board.
I made the tags using PTI die (and those little bits of white cs I know you must have about too!) and ABS Cuts by design Easter Chickadee (now Sprinkleberry).  This die set does have a co ordinating stamp but as this is a no stamp challenge I hand drew the wings and eyes.
Now I am back to reality tomorrow with 6.30 am athletics training, work/school and then swim squad to round out the day. It is going to be tough getting up.
Thanks for stopping
Until next time
Cheers

Thinking of you…

Hello

Has it really been 2 weeks since I posted? Boy time flys.  I have been creating, sorry I just haven’t shared.

My card today I am linking up to the currant challenge at the Flower Challenge here

and the 30 Day colouring challenge here

I started with my floral image from ABS Rmember When (now available from Sprinkleberry) and silver embossed MSS Simple Salutations sentiment.  I coloured the image using my ink pad and blender pen.

So what else have I been doing?

A little quilting

5″ squares of Emma Jean Jansen fabrics alternate with white fabric.

This next one is on the to finish list for the coming weekend.

Again I started with 5″ squares made into half square triangles using the Missouri Star Quilt method arranged into various blocks.  Fabrics are from Circus range by Jodie Carleton.

I also have a few cards requested by Ms S and Mr M I must get on with! and the knitting projects are still WIP.

Until next time

Cheers
