A couple more for Mother’s Day…

Hello

I am sharing a few cards I have made for a stall I will have at the Mother’s Day Artisan Market at Sussex Street Neighbourhood house here or here.

This first one if for the mum who is a tea drinker.

mothers day 2016 (640x479)

I have teamed Jane’s Doodles Tearrific with ABS Designer flowers and coloured with alcohol markers.

mother's day 2016 (503x640)

And for the mum who likes coffee Jane’s Doodles Coffee Time with ABS Designer Flowers.  A little masking this time and again coloured with Alcohol markers.  I was lucky enough to win the Jane’s Doodles Coffee time stamp set from SRM recently.

What do you prefer? Coffee or Tea?

For me I have cut down to usually one coffee per day and almost no black tea (I use to drink a lot of both) to drinking green teas and herbal infusions. Ms E (20) and I have a dedicated tea shelf.  And don’t ask how many pots or infusers we have!

Lastly this one

ABS April 2016 (480x640)

Using ABS Designer Flowers and Hero Arts Be Happy.

Enjoy your weekend.

Cheers

Happy Birthday Ms A…

Hello

Yes it is another birthday in my house today.

Ms A turned 10.

Happy Birthday

This is her birthday card

Ms A birthday card

I used Hero Arts Cupcake and Waltzing Mouse Eat cake stamp sets to create the card. The cup cake is coloured with alcohol markers before adding some kindy glitz and glossy accents.  Not entirely happy with the frosting.  I went a little overboard with the glossy accents and it spread a little just like the cupcake filling below! I die cut the “10” from Memory Box Classic numbers die set a few times and added more glossy accents. The sentiment is from the same waltzing mouse set. The patterned paper and cardstock are SU.

Smile Crocodile…

Hi There

This is my post for the challenge at The Lollipop Ladies #75 – Crocodiles & Washi tape.

The last challenge must have had everyone stumped as there were no entries so no one won the voucher.  I must admit this one had me thinking – I don’t know why maybe because there are a few things with the kiddos coming up and my mind is a little all over the place – a bit like that milk advert.

Any how on with the details of my card. I ended up taking a literal view of the challenge and because I was running short on time came up with this.

I have used washi tape from a craft show and the stamp spot in rows broken up with the stamped crocodile from Hero Arts Playful Animals and the matching sentiment. I did say it was literal!

Here is another pic

Hope to be back in the next few days with some other creations fingers crossed I get a minute or two tonight.

Thanks for taking a peek

Cheers

Happy Birthday Niamh!

Been a bit quiet here this week on the creating front. Been busy putting things in order in our study and re-organising my craft room (for the millionth time! in 3 years) after some furniture was re-purposed for the study. I had re-purposed a book case for my craft room from the children and that has now moved to the study which has been empty. This was the reason for our second trip to IKEA last weekend to get a couple of small Besta book shelves. All this moving things around has meant I could open up some boxes of books and things which have been packed away for 4 plus years. A lot of “do you remember” and Miss A (8) seeing things almost for the first time!

These pics are Miss A and Miss S’s creations from the empty boxes. Miss A has a bed with a pillow and Miss S even has curtains that open and shut! Kept them entertained for a while. We have also had a tiler, painter and oven repair man over this week. Busy – so  no creating.

Enough of my waffle…

I have made this card for a joint Barbie inspired 18th Miss E is going to tonight – yes you read correct no typo – Barbie. The request was for a pink cupcake card –  it matches the theme at Scrapbook Boutique monthly challenge this month which I will link up to.

I have used SBB Cardstock in Ocean (from Summer Colours Pack) and Spearmint (from Sand and Surf pack), Crafters Choice – Gelati Basics and a few scrap bits of cardstock for the cake tops (cut from PTI cupcake die) and card layers. Pulled out a few old punches Carl CP2 Heart punch, Momiji Punch – to make the strawberry and Pothos for the leaves under the MFT Dienamics flowers cut in felt (from Spotlight) and finished with rhinestones from Kaisercraft. The cupcake bases are stamped in versafine onyx black using Hero Arts Cupcake image – another thing that I don’t think has had some love for a while! The Birthday girl’s name is stamped from Kaisercraft Typewriter font stamp set in versafine onyx black.

Before I go for now want to share something I found in Bunnings last week end – a really cheap low tack tape 18mm x 25m Painter’s tape for $1. For the price I thought I would give it a go in my die cutting machine to hold the dies to the cardstock/paper/felt and stop the little things from moving around. I have read of other people using low tack tape.

I used the same piece to cut all six cupcake tops and it was still a bit tacky and didn’t rip the cardstock when I removed it. The more experienced crafters out there might have already found this out – but I thought it was worth sharing. I think this one roll will last for ages much better value than the other brand that was $19 roll.

I have waffled on for a bit now and I still have another card to make for tonight plus the gift bags!

Cheers for now

Vicki

Just sharing…

????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Sadly I have made this card for Miss S (13) to give to one of her class mates.  I personally don’t know the family, but it is sad when you can empathise with what the family is going through and will continue to live with.

I have used Hero Arts Be Happy and a recent win from The Craft’s Meow Soaring High.

Thanks for stopping by.

Vicki

PS – It’s still hot. So hot I didn’t have to bake my top mat from my Epic 6 – I just popped it in the sun for a bit and it was flat again. I usually put them in the oven after we take the food out!

Hope to share something more cheerful before the end of the week.

Hang in There…

I have used the Hero Arts set Playful Animals to make a card for a friend from my first mum’s group – We still call our selves that after 17 years! She is going into have her gal bladder removed on Friday this is after she had surgery two weeks ago to remove a stone that was blocking her liver.

I coloured my images using Tim Holtz markers. I water colour washed (I think that’s how you describe it) the background with Stampin UP! Certainly Celery. One of the sentiments is from the same set whilst the other is from AnnaBelle Stamps Lil Molly’s Flowers.

I am linking this card to the sketch challenge this week at AnnaBelle Stamps.

I also have another friend having back surgery next week and I have made this card for her using the new digi paper from AnnaBelle Stamps as the background. I stamped various get well messages from PTI Mega Mixed Messages, Paper Tray and AnnaBelle stamps Lil Molly’s Flowers. I will link this up to the monthly challenge of stripes at AnnaBelle stamps.

Hope you’re having a great day. I have spent the day with my walking/book club friends celebrating one of the girl’s birthdays (I have a card for that too but will share that in another post). Whilst we were out I got some great news – a job I had an interview for a few weeks ago I have been offered. I will be starting next week. That might mean a few little changes around here – but I am very excited.

Thanks for stopping by

Cheers
