A little creative catch up…

Hello

When I posted yesterday I realised I had a few other creations I hadn’t shared. So here they are.

A recent 21st card for a Tigers fan

I used My Cute Stamps circus animals and SSS stitched circles dies along with SU Large numbers.

A planter box for a another significant birthday – this time for one of my walking/book club friends who happens to love gardening.

I used Bronwyn Eastley’s pattern here along with various SU stamps and dies.

A Unicorn card – a special request.

This time I used Jane’s Doodles and SU Beautiful Bouquet stamps & dies.

A little error here the kiddos also requested a unicorn card for this girl last year for her birthday and you guessed correct I used Jane’s Doodles Unicorn stamp set for the same girl’s card last year. (Insert embarassed face).  When I looked back at last years card it only had one unicorn so hopefully significantly different.  Needless to say next year I’ll either have to invest in a new unicorn stamp set or make another style of card.

Lastly an update on my Bernate Hi Lo Jumper.

Almost finished the front!

I have another request from the family and a pile of mending so I will get on with that in the coming days.

Until next time

Cheers

Hello…

Hello

I must apologise for my lack of posts.  It has been nearly a month since my last post! I will try to keep it brief things which have kept me from posting. Sorry just re-read my post you may want a cuppa.

Before I do I did get my tax returns completed in time and was able to go to the craft show.

A few things which have kept my attention a broken washing machine door – lucky this was fixed under warranty. No one has any idea how it happened! You can imagine with all the swimming and sports in general my machine gets a heavy workout. I have had some relax time a few dinners with other groups of mums, parent information nights for school, an AGM for work, taking on an extra day a week of work and generally being a busy time of the kinder year. This is only the high’s and low’s not the every day stuff I am sure all mum’s (dad’s too) do every day.

I did have a girl’s weekend away planned with my bookclub/walking friends however I had to cancel as Mr M was in the middle of his year 12 exams at the time and needed to be taken to extra exam practice and I needed to keep Ms S & Ms A away from him!  The hubby was working that weekend. I was also so far behind with the dancing costumes I needed to finish those – concert is tonight! Just finished adjusting the last costume after dress rehearsal the other evening.  As it turns out it was just as well I didn’t go away as I got news over that weekend that my 97 year old Gran had passed away peacefully.  I took days just doing what needed to be done. We had a lovely service for her last week and sadly it was one of the few opportunities  I get to see extended family. (I am sure I am not alone here). We will miss her but know that she lived a full and happy life.

Mr random must have known I needed a pick me up as he picked my card from this post to win at Scrapbook Boutique’s challenge last month.

This week we have had the dress rehearsal and a Hunger Games afternoon. Yes Ms E had 10 friends over to watch movie 1 & 2 before heading out to watch movie 3 and the midnight screening of the new movie with her friends and Mr M. Returning home at 3.15 am to wake the entire house.

Any way with all the updates done I will share a few things I did do.

Boy was I a bit rusty making this card.

fish card (640x455)

This card was a little late for the recipient but better late than never right.  I used Market Street Stamps Ocean Fun and My Cute stamps fishy fun to create my fish bowl card along with my circle dies. This was as per Ms E’s precise instructions!

This next card and gift bag decoration are for tonight.

watermelon card (640x417)

Once again per Ms E’s instruction watermelon was requested.  I am sure there are watermelon stamps out there but do you think I own one? No.  So I needed to be creative and came up with using the solid  half circle stamp from SU What’s your type? set and add the skin and pips by hand with markers.  The sentiment is from Papersmooches Smarty Pants. They haven’t been rejected, but then maybe Ms E knows better than to look a gift horse in the mouth.

The final card is actually a multiple.

I made multiplies of this card to send to those who sent me a card after the passing of Gran.

thank you card (461x640)

Gran was rather fond of butterflies, this is the card I made her for her last birthday here.

I hope to find some time over the weekend to make some cards for the Card drive here

CaringHeartsLogo2015_withdate (1)

and an engagement card for a nephew and some birthday cards. It is nearly birthday week here in my house 🙂

I am sorry this is such a long post.

I plan to be back soon with some more creations and a shorter post 🙂

Until next time

Thank you for all your lovely comments

Cheers

Halfway…

Hello

Sharing the last requested card by Ms E.

If you have been following you may remember she gave me a list of cards to be made with specific instructions including stamp sets and colours. Well this one came with the added extra of including a very specific sentiment! As you may guess the recipient has a great sense of humour!

I am linking this up to the monthly challenge at Scrapbook Boutique here

Here is my card

papersmooches chubby chums (640x482)

I have used Papersmooches chubby chums (requested a cow!), Uniko Garlands Galore (the sentiment reads “halfway to 40!) and My cute stamps Owlways friends. I used SU smoky slate, old olive and real red inks & cardstock. I finished the chubby cow with some glossy accents and goggly eyes.

Hope you have some great plans for the weekend. I do.

First I need to complete start our tax returns – I know I only have 8 days! Now if I am good I will get Sunday to go to the craft show at Caulfield Racecourse. So you see I have an incentive to get a good start on those tax returns.

Until next time

Cheers

Chrissy tags…

Hi There.  I got a little crafty time last week end – I know it is nearly the weekend again.  I got round to taking a few pics earlier today which I will hopefully get to share over the next few days.

Today I am sharing a set of gift tags I made using a mix of sets. I am linking up to the challenge at Crafty Hazelnut’s Christmas

Please also support my weekly challenges

I used PTI Polka dot Parade #9, Holiday Cheer, Star Prints, Stocking Prints, Communique Curves, Kaisercraft Merry Christmas and My Cute Stamps Let it Snow. The tags were made by using the small strip left after I have cut A3 cardstock down to make my square cards then rounding the corners with my corner punch and punching a hole for the twine.  I used SU Pretty in Pink, Tempting Truquoise, So Saffron, Certainly Celery and PTI Classic Kraft and Lavender Moon inks to stamp the images. The twine is Blossom and mint.

Here are individual images

I have used the stamp sets Sugar and Spice Red & White Christmas,  My Cute Stamps Christmas, PTI Stocking Prints and Jane’s Doodles Cross Stitch to create my wreath and sentiments.  I first drew a pencil circle and stamped the green image (colourbox lime pastel) I then rubbed out the pencil before stamping in silver ink. My first attempt when I went to rub out the pencil the silver ink smudged everywhere (unknown brand from Spotlight) – even after heat setting. I mounted my stamped image on to green cardstock (brand unknown) and added all to my card front.

Thanks for stopping

For Miss Emma…

I am linking this card up to the Techno Stampers Sketch challenge.

IMG_3739

I stamped my images from My Cute Stamps Fishy Fun onto Blending card stock and coloured with alcohol markers. I punched them out with Stampin UP! 1 3/8″ square punch. I then mounted them onto some card stock from my stash. I added the row of Kaisercraft droplets and also added some to the water bubbles.

IMG_3740

This card is for Emma, a friend of Miss E’s who is celebrating her 18th birthday in a few weeks. Emma likes blue and is a great competition swimmer.

The start of school holidays here – a few of our plans include

Miss E has exams all next week, she is at a Maths lecture today.

Mr M is booked into be a zookeeper for the day – so that should be a great day for him.

Miss S has a party at a trapoline play centre called “Bounce”.

Miss A will keep me busy crafting – not complaining!

So holidays are busy but a different kind of busy to normal school week.

I have a few more things to share with you over the next couple of days. We have 6 or 7 birthdays in the next couple of weeks. The girls have been bringing home invitations it feels like every day! Enough of my babble.

A lovely sunny day here in Melbourne – hope it is nice where you are too.

Thanks for taking a peek.

Cheers

Vicki

This card was chosen in the top 3 at Techno Stamper

Thank you

Ahoy me hearties…

Sorry couldn’t help that.

This weeks challenge at the Lollipop Ladies is Pirate Lollipops and water.

I made this card using a digi image from http://madamebogg.blogspot.com.au/ coloured with markers along with stamps from Hero Arts and My Cute Stamps. Plus Heidi Grace patterned paper,  cardstock from my stash and Sizzix Woodgrain embossing folder.

IMG_3549

I tore the cardstock and layered before stamping my images onto the underwater scene. I stamped the shells and star fish onto scraps and cut out before adding to the water. The Pirate is standing on a piece of embossed woodgrain cardstock – like a part of a ship or a jetty. The sun is stamped and a punched circle added for the centre.

I was having fun so I made a second card.

IMG_3545

Using PTI Tremendous  Treats, My Cute Stamps – Fishy Fun and AnnaBelle Stamps Boy’s Party images. I have coloured the pirate with alcohol markers and Tim Holtz black soot.  I added some sparkle to my pirate with some glitter on his skull and cross.  I layered by using circle punches and popped up with foam tabs. The little boats are coloured with SU markers before being hand cut.

I am linking up to these challenges

SC 052/12

I came across this challenge and thought I might have a go.

http://sunnychallenges.blogspot.com.au/

The challenge is based on a sketch by Christine Blain who is the guest designer at Sunny Challenges and Creations for the month of August. I need a card for a friend’s son who is turning 8 in a couple of weeks. I think he will like it and I’m pretty sure his mum will want to know how it was made.

I used mostly American Crafts cardstock and some scraps from my pile. Just a side question. Does anyone else have a scrap pile that never seems to get smaller or is it just me? Back on track. After creating the base with dark and light blue cardstock I used two orange brads from my tin and one orange button from AnnaBelle stamps. The button is secured with twine from PTI. The stamped panel was created by gently riping some green cardstock then I stamped images from My Cute Stamps Space ships and robots with SU inks (Tangerine tango, Pacific point, Wild wasabi and Daffodil delight). I stamped the robot onto white cardstock, cut him out and popped him up with foam tape. The sentiment panel was stamped from SU Happiest Birthday Wishes using SU Tangerine Tango, cut into a banner and popped up with foam tape.

Cheers
