Finished and Gifted…

Hello

Popping in to share my latest quilt.

I did finish this a few weeks ago however I didn’t get to meet the new member of the family until yesterday. Such a gorgeous looking bub she is too.

The quilt top is 5 1/4″ squares set in a pattern which creates diamonds. When I checked what the nursery decor was going to be I was informed “muted neutrals”. Um brown tones came to mind. Off I went fabric shopping – any excuse! I found the lovely rainbow print and chose two solids from the pattern.

The back is a simple print. I quilted around the blocks and on the diagonal on my domestic machine. I bound with the darker of the solids. Now after purchasing the fabric and I had begun construction my Ms 17 spotted a pic on instagram of the nursery and informed me there was a rainbow print on the wall in the same tones as the fabric. Whew!

Now I couldn’t give a present without a card. I stamped the onesie from TGF onto some pattern paper and fussy cut out, popped onto some white card stock and added to card base. The sentiment is from Jane’s Doodles The sky’s the limit. Love making personalised cards.

Until next time

Cheers

The Greeting Farm – Summer Fun Amelia

I have used the cute TGF Summer Fun Amelia stamped in stazon black and coloured using Tim Holtz markers (tumbled glass, scattered straw & Mustard seed), SU markers (Pool party & blush blossom) and SU ink So saffron & daffodil delight). Pinwheel challenge at Embellish Magazine and The Greeting Farm Fresh Friday

Hi. Hope everyone’s day has got off to a great start. Student free day so have my youngest home today plus I am expecting some tradesmen any time now! We all know how predictable tradies are right?

Anyway I have two cards to share today.

Splendid Stamping with The Greeting Farm

http://splendidstamping.blogspot.com.au/2012/08/farm-fresh-friday-paper-piecing.html

The first is for The Greeting Farm Fresh Friday Challenge Paper Piercing. This is a technique I only tried a little while ago and I am enjoying it.

I have used The Greeting Farm Miss Anya Collection along with sentiment from PTI Train Tracks. I used Twine from SU, cardstock from American Crafts and Pebbles. A Fiskars border punch and tag die from life style crafts. This card is for a 13 year old girl I think she came up alright.

http://embellishmagazine.com/blog/2012/08/pinwheel-color-trends-challenge/

The second card is a first for me. This is the first pinwheel I have ever made. I was surprised at how easy it was. I used DSP from MME Miss Caroline for the pinwheel and a brad from my stash along with a tooth pick for the handle. I used PTI Tiny Tags and die stamped with SU Regal Rose and Soft Suede tied with Blossom twine from the The Twinery. The other cardstock is also from my stash. I punched out butterflies from kraft cardstock using carl and armada punches. Finished off with some rhinestones and hand drawn butterfly trials.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers
