Christmas cards and a quilt…

Hello

Today I am sharing a few projects I have that have been keeping me busy.

Another quilt.

Just loved the fabric and wanted to play with HST.

img_7614-612x640 img_7612-640x521You may recall I made this one a little while ago using the same fabric from Emma Jean Jansen’s Ella Blue range.

I have made a few Christmas cards which I will link up to the current challenge at Scrapbook Boutique here

I have just gone with the general Christmas theme! hope that is ok.

Love the font of Mama Elephant Jingle Greetings and the PTI penguin is pretty cute too.  I added him to a drift of snow using SU Thoughtful branches in grey ink topped with dazzling details.  I know we don’t have snow in Aus at Christmas.

Stars and Trains …

Hello

I have a few things to share today.

Ms 10 helped me last week sort through my stash and we found a few gaps. Mainly due to the fact I make as I need. So I have been making a couple of things over the last few days to fill those gaps.

And doing so I am linking up to a few challenges as well

This first card I made in two colour ways using a range of stars from Annabelle Stamps Boy’s Party, Uniko Balloon Bash, Inspired by Stamping Build a Stocking, Papertrey Ink Star Prints and sentiment from Papertrey Ink.

and the next card I am linking up to the challenge at Scrapbook Boutique here

I stamped my image from Stamp It and mounted onto chocolate coloured card stock. The pattern paper is from a Kaisercraft pad along with the tag I stamped the sentiment on. The sentiment is from PTI World’s Greatest.

I also have a little update on my jumper.

The pattern I am using can be found here  and here.

I am knitting in Bendigo Woollen Mills Athena yarn I purchased last year. It is lovely and soft.

I am linking this card upto to the above challenges.

I began by making my own pattered paper. I used several different coloured ink refills in spray bottles with a little water. I wanted more colours than I have spray bottles for, so I dropped drops of food dye onto the paper. I left this all to dry overnight before  I cut a small piece to use on my card. Miss E (17) thought the process was interesting and took some pictures to show her friends. When Miss A (8) saw the paper in the morning she asked when could we make some more.  I think this is an outside activity with an 8 year old. If the weather holds we might just have a go at this. Miss S and Miss A have been busy covering old jam jars with scoobies (long plastic tubes – they were really popular a few years back) they plan to give them to their friends and keep a couple for trinkets (junk?) in their rooms.  I now have the job of die cutting some fabric to cover the lids. It is clearing out some unloved crafty supplies.

IMG_3734

Anyway once I had my paper I layered my piece onto some card stock from my stash. The sentiment is from Annabelle Stamps Boy’s Party and Cuts by design dies. I finished the card off with a couple of jewels from Kaisercraft Miss Nelly collection.

A sketch challenge…

Once again I think I am going to just make the challenge cut off! I did make the card last night, took the picture this morning before running out the door for school drop off, then work. After work it was Mum duties at Orthodontist (good news hopefully not to much longer – fingers crossed), library (Mr M had another stack of books to pick up) then the last stop before home was the supermarket. All in a normal days work for all you Mums reading this.

Any way I now have 5 minutes to quickly pop this post together.

IMG_3669

I used Annabelle Stamps Boy’s Party with the co ordinating die all popped up with foam tape. The green stipes are from washi tape.  Inks used were a mix of Stampin UP! and PTI.

Another busy day planned for tomorrow. Miss E has a doctors appointment – she has been suffering terrible headaches for the last few months and we have been unable to determine the cause.  Fortunately the last few weeks they don’t seem to be as severe.  After that I am off on a Choir/Performing Arts Excursion for a primary school competition. Then tomorrow night is the first of 3 performances Miss S (13) will be in over the weekend with a school dance production – Miss E, Miss A and I are going with a few of Miss E’s friends on Saturday night.  A little entertainment for me over the weekend.

Thanks for stopping for a peek

Cheers

Vicki

Push Pops…

The current challenge at the Lollipop Ladies is Push Pops + movement

This is my DT postIMG_3616

I have given this Diamond fold card another try. The first time I attempted one of these it was a complete disaster. I found this tutorial which I think was easier to follow than the last one.

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/diamondfoldcard/

I have used Annabelle stamps Boy’s Party and BBD3 stamped using SU Pacific Point and Tangerine Tango and the co ordinating die. The cardstock is a mix of SU and American Crafts.

Here is another pic

IMG_3615

Everyone who came past this after I finished it picked it up and had a play with it, as a consequence it is looking a little worn on the edges! Might have to make another and pop away from big and little fingers!

A few other things to share…

Earlier in the week I spotted these and took a few pics.

I have also finally framed Miss A’s piglet cross stitch.

IMG_3614b

She used one of the kits you can buy from Spotlight.

Speaking of I must get this posted and pick the little miss up from Netball training.

Thanks for stopping.

Seeing Stars…

What do you think these? No quite how I pictured them but my kiddos think they are cool.

IMG_3597

I have used Annabelle stamps a boy’s party and stamped the large star using SU ink in real red, lucky limeade, garden green, daffodil delight, pumpkin pie and tempting turquoise and the small stars I have used markers and picked one star and coloured from the circle of stars from the same set. The sparkly paper is punched using CP1 Carl star punch. The sentiment is from Annabelle stamps Garden Silhouettes.

I am linking this to the Challenge at CAS(E) this sketch

For my second card

IMG_3598

I have again used SU inks and stamped the star from Annabelle stamps a boy’s party – I then cut them all out by hand. I die cut a star using Xcut star die in the front of my card base. I made a pouch with acetate sheet and put my stars, some glitter and gold star sequins into it before sealing it and taping to the inside of the front of the card. I stamped the sentiment from Annabelle stamps Ornamental Christmas in SU real red.

These are my creations for my post this week at The Lollipop Ladies – Stars and sparkle.

Pop over and check out the prize on offer this time.

Thanks for popping by

Ahoy me hearties…

Sorry couldn’t help that.

This weeks challenge at the Lollipop Ladies is Pirate Lollipops and water.

I made this card using a digi image from http://madamebogg.blogspot.com.au/ coloured with markers along with stamps from Hero Arts and My Cute Stamps. Plus Heidi Grace patterned paper,  cardstock from my stash and Sizzix Woodgrain embossing folder.

IMG_3549

I tore the cardstock and layered before stamping my images onto the underwater scene. I stamped the shells and star fish onto scraps and cut out before adding to the water. The Pirate is standing on a piece of embossed woodgrain cardstock – like a part of a ship or a jetty. The sun is stamped and a punched circle added for the centre.

I was having fun so I made a second card.

IMG_3545

Using PTI Tremendous  Treats, My Cute Stamps – Fishy Fun and AnnaBelle Stamps Boy’s Party images. I have coloured the pirate with alcohol markers and Tim Holtz black soot.  I added some sparkle to my pirate with some glitter on his skull and cross.  I layered by using circle punches and popped up with foam tabs. The little boats are coloured with SU markers before being hand cut.

I am linking up to these challenges

Boiled Lollies and curves!….

IMG_3488

The challenge at the Lollipop Ladies is Boiled Lollies and curves #69.  I have taken this litterally – what do you think?

I have used Uniko Background builders Round in Circles stamped using SU Real Red, Lucky Limeade, Elegant Eggplant, Daffodil Delight and Rich Razzleberry to create my own paper.  I die cut a circle using Lifestyle Crafts nesting circles. In the space created I stamped ABS Boy’s Party.

With the little stripes left from trimming my paper I made these gift tags using PTI Tag Sale Die #1 and twine.

IMG_3490

If you have a chance pop on over to the Lollipop Ladies and take part in the challenge.

Thanks for taking a look.

Laugh till it hurts x 2…

IMG_3287

IMG_3286

Miss S (13) has a another party tomorrow night and needs a card! I’ll let her decide which one she takes. I am rather partial to the stars.

I have used Annabelle Stamps Tomorrow’s Dream, Boy’s Party and The Craft’s Meow – Good Times along with some washi tape (#10 & # 13) from The Stamp Spot. The inks and markers are SU Pumpkin Pie, Elegant Eggplant and Tempting Turquoise and the cs used for layering is also tempting turquoise.

It has been so hot I haven’t had the curtains and blinds open much – just as I was ready to take the pics of these cards the sky turned black and the heavens opened up – Please forgive the really bad photography! Not that I don’t want the rain I just wish it had waited 5 more minutes.

I am linking these upto the challenge at Annabelle Stamps (if I’m not too late!)

Thanks for dropping by

Cheers
