Feel better…

Hello

 I’m popping in today to share a card I made for a friend who just had a major operation.

I used ink pads I made from uninked ink pads and MFT re inkers as well as SU Certainly celery and Versafine Onxy black. Excuse the pic the colour is much nicer in real life – I tried adjusting the settings however I couldn’t get it any better!  The stamp sets I used are Mama Elephant Water Blooms and Uniko Flower Power #6.

Not sure about anyone else but I never know what to write in cards like this. She is (and so are we) hoping the op will prevent her from getting breast cancer later in life.

Mama Elephant anything goes…

Hello

The current challenge at Mama Elephant is anything goes.

These images are so cute I had to play.

I have used Mama Elephant cozy Christmas, No Peeking  and Believe in Magic (the silver encore stars).

The images are stamped in Memento Tuxedo black onto Express blending cardstock and coloured with various alcohol markers (Kaisercraft, SU and Spectrum Noir) before adding to card front mounted on SU Real Red CS. I fussy cut a few gifts and popped them up with foam tape as well as Santa and his pressie. I added white flocking to Santa. The red bows were stamped with SU real red ink and fussy cut before adding to the tree. I also added a little wink of stella (gold for the star) and silver on the pressie bows before adding some glossy accents.

I had a question about the Sizzix plate I used on my butterfly card.

I picked this from my local Spotlight.

As you can see I have used it once. The line in the middle is the section which isn’t cut when run through my Big shot.

Crafting with Dragonflies + ME + CAS

Hello there

Well school holidays are finished which means everyone is back to school and work.  We had a very busy second week of the holidays 2 trips to the Werribee zoo (one for night walk and the other for a special members only Eastern Barred Bandicoot talk) and the 3 girls and I went to see Wicked. I even got a little sewing time in one dance costume complete and I finished a quilt I started ages ago (see pic at the end of this post).

Anyway I have a card to share which I am linking up to these challenges

CAS Card (Clean and simple)

I took inspiration from the colours

I used Mama Elephant no peeking and cozy christmas stamp sets stamped with Versfine Onyx Black. I coloured with SU markers adding a wink of stella and glossy accents to the present bows and the scarf. The wood panel is from an AC journal card.

I know these are Christmas Stamps sets but I think this works for a birthday.

I used Stampin UP! fabric 3″ squares and some white from my stash for the border. The backing is a lemon cotton.

Mama Elephant Sketch Challenge #2

I didn’t get to link this up as I had planned yesterday. Some days are just like that.

I have used Mama Elephant Polar Pals and Believe in Magic stamped with SU Lucky Limeade and Colorbox Lime Pastel. The tag is stamped using Versafine Onyx Black.

I think the background has the appearance of wood grain when it is stamped in multiples. Miss A (8) thinks it would make a nice skirt. Either way it is nice to find a use for Christmas stamps that aren’t Christmassy. Don’t you agree?

Hope you are surviving the heat if you are around my way. Not that I like the cold – but I would like it a couple of degrees cooler at the moment 30+ for days on end…

Long weekend here this weekend – I hope to get some crafty time. Hopefully a bit of sewing the children have asked me to make a few things – so fingers crossed.
