Playing with Garden Gate…

Hello

My Flourishes Garden Gate and water colour paints were well overdue for some love.  I got them out and made the following card which I will link up to the challenges below.

I stamped my image from Flourishes Garden Gate using my repositioning stamping tool.  Once I coloured my image with my water colours I then restamped the images. I think this gives a nicer result.  The sentiment is from Mudra Purely Sentiments brushed. Card front mounted onto watermelon cs before adding to my card base.

I used some bright (and cheerful!) pattern paper form MME Lime twist which I have had in my stash for a while! I know I’m not alone.  Time to use a few bits.  I punched several pieces with 1 1/4″ square punch and arranged directly onto my card base.  I then added the die cut sentiment and number for a significant birthday.  The numbers are also die cut with fun foam to add dimension.  I hope you like the bold black against the bright colours.
Look forward to seeing you in the challenge – remember no stamps and you have until 1st March midnight AEST.
I am going to link this up to the current challenge at Seize the Birthday.  I haven’t played in this challenge for so so long! here

To the Moon…

Hello

Popping in to share a card using Jane’s Doodles to the moon.

I am linking this up to the current challenge at Seize the Birthday here

I am also linking up to the current challenge at Double D challenges here

I used Jane’s Doodles To the moon and back (been sitting on my desk uninked for a few months!) plus alcohol markers and the paper is also a new pack from SU.  All the images were fussy cut and popped up with foam tabs.

I am trying to work my way through my NBUS stash – problem is it keeps growing.  I went to Paperific in Melbourne not really having anything in mind to purchase except my fav pre cut cs.  Figured the entry fee was about the same as my postage would be if I placed an online order.  Well that plan went out the window pretty fast! I came home with the cs plus 3 stand alone die sets, 2 stamp sets and 2 stamp & die sets. Plus I added a few more copics to my collection – would have been more I fear but I left my colour chart at home and had to phone Mr M for some assistance.  Lucky he knows his way around my room & a copic colour chart (can’t say hubby would have found it – probably a good thing!).  Must have been rather amusing for people near me to hear me say “in the white shelf unit, down the bottom on top of etc…”  I could have got him to drop the chart in I don’t live far from where the expo was – probably a good think I just thought of that. – insert red face!

Cheers

Birthday time…

Hello

Today I am sharing a card I made for Miss S’s 18th Birthday.

I am linking up to the current challenge at Seize the Birthday here- no toppings for me

I used Jane’s Doodles Unicorn and Birthday wishes stamp sets coloured with alcohol markers.  I punched out the glittery shapes from a 3/4″ circle punch.  I was inspired by this card from Bronwyn here
I added a little wink of stella to the clouds and the unicorn horns.

It was Ms S’s 18th birthday yesterday.  I made this card about 11.30 pm the night before – nothing like leaving it to the last minute!

No big party most of Ms S’s friends are still on schoolies.  We celebrated by doing brekky at a local cafe with Ms A (turns 13 today) and Ms S’s boyfriend.  The 3 eldest kiddos went to a local night club with friends after a few drinks at home. I think I did 3 car trips to and from the nightclub.  Tomorrow we are having a pizza lunch with about 10 of her friends.  Between brekky and drinks yesterday I managed to attend a Christmas party for a charity group I belong to – Days for Girls you can find out more here.  Due to the extreme weather predicted in Victoria over the weekend the planned weekend away in the country was downgraded to a house party in Melbourne.  This worked ok for me cause I could squeeze in a few hours, I couldn’t have made the whole weekend.

We have Ms E’s 22nd birthday later in the week and a party planned for Ms A’s 13th as well.  I’ll share their cards later.

Thanks for stopping

Cheers

Rainbows and Unicorns…

Hello

Today I am sharing a card using Jane’s Doodles Unicorn and Birthday Wishes stamp sets.

I am linking up to the current challenge at Seize the Birthday here no toppings for me this time

For my regular readers this will not surprise it was a specific request by Mr M for a friend.  Mr M and his friends have regular games days/nights where they play board games for about 12-14 hours.  And before you ask they do play board games because we regularly have the event out our place.  Any way one of the girls is having a birthday and this is the resulting card. The boys all chipped in and bought an add on pack for one of her board games – cause they get to use it too! Not so silly.  It did remind me of the kind of gifts partners buy each other like a kitchen appliance or garden equipment! Everyone gets something out of those types of gifts.

Enough of my waffle. I created the cloud base using embossing paste and a cloud stencil. I stamped and coloured my images with alcohol markers and popped them up on my card front.  I used my alcohol markers to colour a small section of cardstock and punched out the little hearts, adding them to the card front and adding a wink of stella.

Thanks for stopping

Cheers

A significant birthday…

Hello

Recently we went to a significant birthday party for a friend of ours.  When someone at the party asked me how long I had known the birthday girl I was a little shocked that it is close to 30 years. Boy time flys.

Here is the card I made

I used my SU letters for the birthday girl’s name along with  cookie cutter punch, owl punch, fox punch and Papersmooches Hullabalo to make my “Liz”.  I used an embossing folder to create the background and my sentiment is from Cool treats.

The birthday girl is a great athelete competing in iron women events, various runs/marathons and stair runs (running up stair wells of very tall buildings). We meet when my hubby was competing in triathalons.  After so long mixing with these fit people it hasn’t rubbed off on me!

Hopefully you can see my idea of a water sport themed card.

Julie Nutting party girl…

Hello

Today I am sharing a card made using Julie Nutting Party Girl stamp set.

I stamped the image from Julie Nutting Party Girl stamp set onto express it card stock and coloured with copic markers. The sentiment is from PTI Birthday Tags. I mounted the coloured image onto black cardstock and SU pattern paper. I was taking reference to the quote on the SBB mood board along with the pastel colours.

My Boo Boo…

Hello

When I saw Darnell’s new Boo Boo challenge and her card I remembered I made this recently perfect to share here.

Head over and check it out.  I also think Darnell took a peek in my craftroom! Mine has a similar look most of the time! Hubby just rolls his eyes when he visits. My answer is if it bothers him so much don’t come in!

Coming April 1-11, 2017

I will also link up to Seize the Birthday current challenge here

My card

Now the Boo Boo may not be obvious at first.  But I did exactly what Darnell did. I placed the pattern paper pattern upside down! The little banners are meant to be more like “W’s” then “M’s”.  Thankfully none of the kiddos critics noticed this.

I used SU Up and Away paper, CS and a NBUS stamp set SU Any Occasion.

Off to do some tiding up so I can play in my room!

Until next time

Cheers

Soccer and a finished knit…

Hello

Popping in to share a quick and easy card as requested by Mr M (19).

I am also linking up to the current challenge at Seize the Birthday here

A pretty quick make.  I die cut a white circle and ran through my honeycomb embossing folder.  I also ran a small piece of black cardstock through and fussy cut a few pieces to add back to make my soccer ball. Popped up with foam tape on my card front and finished with a sentiment from Jane’s Doodles Birthday wishes.

Also sharing a finished knitting project

Nothing like Mum asking you to model when you are on your way out the door to go to work teaching kids to swim.

I used BWM Aurora Stirling

You can find the pattern here

Until next time

Cheers
