A little sparkle…

Hello

Yes it wasn’t long before the requests from the kiddos needed to be meet.

Today I am sharing a little sparkly birthday card.

I am linking up to the current challenge at Seize the Birthday here

No topping for me this time

I used my star dies and punches to cut out various stars from some glimmer paper (a freebie) and arranged them around my sentiment from Jane’s Doodles Birthday wishes stamp set. I had a fair amount of glitter around when I was done.  It really is sparkly!

I finished the quilt from my last post.

Love the chevron pattern using HST top left corner.  Might be my next project?

What do you have planned for the weekend?

We start Saturday netball tomorrow. I do hope to find some book reading and crafty time too.

Until next time

Cheers

Playing with Jane’s Doodles…

Hello

I have used some things from my NBUS stash.  A little embarrassed to say I have had one or two of these for a while!

This first card I am linking up to the first challenge at the Flower Challenge here

We would love you to display our banner !

and

the Challenge at Seize the birthday here

Anything goes with the toppings of leaves (only a few here!).

img_7548-520x640

I have used Jane’s Doodles Flying High, Doodle Flowers II and brand new Birthday wishes.  Inked in SU Lucky Limeade, Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay.

My second card I am linking up to the October  Challenge at Scrapbook Boutique here

I was very inspired by the orange and pink butterflies.

img_7547-487x640

The butterflies are stamped with SU Pumpkin pie & Melon Mambo using Jane’s Doodles Butterflies and Birthday Wishes.  I used SU butterfly punch for the floating butterflies and the ME Pizzaz Pieces dies for the top mount.

Before I go I have a small project Ms S (16) made up for the Yr 12 students in her home room before they left school for their exams.

img_7535-342x640

She used some glass mugs with a straw in the lid filled with various chocolates along with post it notes and pens.  Some would think these are study must haves – I’m sure the dietians would disagree! The little tags were made using PTI birthday tags.  They were a hit some of the girls wouldn’t put them down. Perhaps fear someone would tackle the contains?

I have started making some Christmas cards I will share those another day.

Thanks for stopping

Cheers

As requested…

Hello

If you have been following me for sometime you would know Ms E (20) is always forward and specific in her requests for cards.  Well we have hit a new level.  I was requested to make a card by her friend’s boyfriend to give to the said friend for her 21st! Follow?

How could I say no.

img_7522-478x640

I started by heat embossing “s” a number of times onto orange card stock which I then punched out with 3/4″ circle punch. These were added to the main card front with some being added with foam tape.  Some of you may be wondering what the “s” circle things are. Ms A (11) thought they were bubbles! and Ms S (16) thought they were smarties.  She was pretty close – the request was for orange skittles. I believe Smarties don’t have an “s”.  I thought there maybe to many skittles, but the response I got was “you can’t have too many skittles”

The sentiments and die cuts are from various sets from papersmooches, PTI, Uniko and Stampin UP!. And as requested I stamped words on the inside of the card.

I will link this up to the current challenge at Seize the birthday here – Anything Goes

One of the ladies I know is collecting hats for prem babies.  I used a pattern from the Craftsy website here by Charm knits and another pattern I am not sure where I got it from.  Thank you to the designers for their patterns.

A challenge or two…

Hello

We are part way through the school holidays here.  Boy a week flies by so quickly.  Pity only another week before we are all back to our routines and sports.  Ms E and Mr M are still at uni though while Ms S and Ms A are home along with hubby.  When Ms E went to uni in Geelong yesterday the girls and I tagged along for a day trip to the arts and craft shops down there.  There are a few art supply shops within working distance of each other not to mention a Kaiser outlet on the drive into town from Uni.  I was rather restrained and only purchased 3 items not on my list!  Although I did top up Ms A’s craft stash.

Here are a couple of cards I have made.

and

no toppings for me this time

me up and away

I have used ME up and away and co ordinating dies coloured with alcohol markers.  The sponging and background cardstock are SU dapper denium. I used a piece of card board cut out as a stencil for my clouds.  The sentiment is from Papersmoches Hullabalo.

While I had the sponges out I created this card with PTI Tremendous treats

I needed a new book mark for book club so I created this one by colouring my stamp block with markers and stamping into the ink before stamping onto my paper.  By doing this I got a few variations of colour on each stamped image to replicate “fall” or autumn as we call it here in Australia.  I used images from SU Thoughtful branches and Jane’s Doodles Read all about it.  Even though I used greens, browns and orange markers the orange markers look pink in the photo above.  Trust me they are orange!

I have also began work on a HST quilt top. Will share that another day.

Until next time

Thanks for stopping

Wonderful…

Hello

 I realised I haven’t shared this card which I made for a 21st a few days ago.

I am linking up to the current challenge at Seize the Birthday here

IMG_7408 (510x640)

I used Penny Black wonderful coloured with alcohol markers. The grass is from SU thoughtful branches with a little masking.  I die cut the stamplorations “happy” and PTI “birthday” from the SU confetti celebration paper showing the emerald green beneath. The coloured panel is popped up with foam tabs and there is just a hint of glitter on the balloon.

Now to co ordinate the gift bag I used the same patterned paper and my gift bag punch board and made the largest bag.  It was a perfect fit for the present. Ms E used a bulldog clip to attach the card to the bag and also keep the bag closed!

I have been busy knitting.  I am almost finished sewing up Ms A’s jumper.  One seam to go.

I have knitted one dog coat for the lost dog’s home and started a second one.

I can’t take the credit for all of these…

dog jackets for lost dogs home mine and Margarets. (478x640)

One of the lovely ladies from my Wednesday library group knitted 4 dog jackets in a week! Thank you Margaret. I will take those in to the Lost Dog’s Home with mine.

Until next time

Penny Black Wonderful …

Bowling for a 21st…

Hello

Today I have another 21st card to share.

I am linking up to the following challenges

Seize the Birthday – Anything Goes here

As usual Ms E (20) had a specific request to incorporate bowling.  Not having any bowling stamps and deciding punch art was a little too fiddly I came across some digital images here.  Thank you Imogen.  I also used Papersmooches Digits stamp set and Numbers die. A little colouring on the pins with copics before adding to card front with foam tabs.  It was sunny yesterday when I took the pic you can see a little shadow on the card front.

My first thoughts when I saw the SBB challenge board was to create a card with a black lab – we have a very young at heart black lab.  During the week she had her annual check up.  For a senior she acted more like a very energetic pup!  She must have a great memory too because she kept sitting without instruction to be rewarded with treats from the vet.

Another 21st, a new home and a pair of socks…

Hello

Today I have a few projects I completed recently.

Firstly this card and decorated gift box were made for a 21st Ms E (20) had over the weekend.

botanical builder card and gift box (640x459)

I used a great tutorial here to create the 3D box frame portion of the card on the left.  Thank you Inna for such an easy to follow tutorial.  I used SU Botantical Blooms stamp set, Botanical Builder Framelits, Number of Years stamp set and Large numbers framelits to create the flower spray and the belly band for the gift box (on the right).  From all accounts it was received well.

I am linking up to the following challenges

Seize the Birthday here

and

Happy Little Stampers here

I used the same tutorial above to create this little picture for a lovely friend who moved into a beautiful new home recently.  We finally synced our schedules and caught up for lunch on Friday.

Holiday home new home 3D (640x606)

I used SU Holiday Home, Holiday Home Framelits and Flourishes Forest of Trees stamp set.  A little note to self next time stamp the sentiment after making the frame! It is just a little tight at the top of the frame.

Now while I was waiting up Saturday night for Mr M (18) to call to be picked up from his first clubbing experience I finished these for Ms A (11).

stocking stitch drops delight socks 1 (480x640)

These are Ms S’s (16) feet showing them off.

stocking stitch drops delight socks 2 (640x586)

A simple stocking stitch sock pattern using Drops delight yarn.

Before I go for today I will share a couple of pics of a very quiet Tulla Freeway at about 3 am Sunday morning. The freeway was closed for works on the widening. Mum’s taxi service had shifts both Friday and Saturday nights this weekend.

wplus 9 party animal 2 (480x640)

I have managed to use 4 NBUS products here! I stamped my NBUS Wplus 9 party animals onto xpress blending card stock and coloured with my NBUS copic markers (I bought a new pack of copic earth tones at the local craft shop sale this week) once coloured they were die cut with NBUS coordinating die.  The background circles are cut from circle die and NBUS SSS Stitched circles die in SU Old olive and some ancient pattern paper.  Once these were in place on my card front I added my animals with foam tape and the sentiment from PTI World’s greatest stamped in Memento Luxe ink.

Thanks for stopping by

Have a great weekend – a long one for some

Julie Nutting meets WMS Eat cake…

Hello

Hope your weekend is going great.

Popping in to share the latest birthday card.

I am linking up to

Scrapbook boutique – February Mood Board here

Seize the Birthday here

Here is my card

21st chanelle 2 (388x640)

I stamped the Mixed media doll from Julie Nutting on xpress card stock and coloured with alcohol markers. I used my spica pens in gold, black and red to add some glitter then when that wasn’t the effect I wanted I added a load of wink of stella. I mounted onto red and gold cardstock from my stash.  I finished with some sequins and the sentiment from WMS Eat cake stamped with versamark and gold embossed then die cut from SU tags and labels framelits. Note the  card base size is 22 cm x 10.5 cm.

Here is another pic which shows the sparkle a little more.

This card is for a 21st in a few weeks.

21st chanelle 3 (315x640)

Miss A and I are off to another party soon.
