#112: Seasons and Seasonal

with the TWIST: use handmade flower(s)

REMEMBER: No stamps!

At the moment it is the start of winter here in Melbourne, I am already looking forward to summer though. I do like roses and have several white iceberg standards in my garden however they are not in flower at the moment – they tend to look their best here in early November. Picture the Melbourne Cup at Flemington for those into horse racing. So roses are definately a seasonal flower.

A close up of the textured rose paper I made. I used the Stamplorations (Artplorations) stencil Old Rose Prints, textured paste, re-inkers and a touch of glitter.

I cut my piece down and added to co ordinating cardstock to one side of my card base. I used rolled roses with enamel centres and die cut leaves to complete my card.

I am linking my card upto the current Stencil challenge at Stamplorations here

Now while I had the texture paste, reinkers and glitter out I made a few other pieces!

I kind of got carried away! I would have made more too except I ran out of bench and floor space in my craftroom. Yep I started putting pieces on the floor to dry. I’m sure I have enough to last me for years now.

Thanks for stopping. Don’t forget to check out the Unstampabelles blog and enter the challenge.

Cheers

More botanicals…

Hello

I am really happy how these two cards turned out.

I coloured these succulents from Kaszazz with watercolour pencils, fussy cut them and popped every second one up with foam tabs. I wish I could grow plants like this! I seem to over water them 😦

This is another one of Shery’s stamps from the bloomfully collection – I couldn’t choose so I bought most of the sets! I coloured this one with alcohol markers.

I am linking this one up to the never ending challenge at Stamplorations here

Until next time

Pick a Pattern…

Hello

Today I’m sharing a quick thank you card.

I’m linking this up to the current challenge at Double D’s – Pick a Pattern here

GRAB OUR BADGE!

and never ending challenge at Stamplorations here

Miss S (19) and Ms A (14) are coaches of a local netball team and later today is the presentation day.Ā  Of course at the last minute Ms S asked for a thank you card.Ā  Fortunately I have been cutting my pattern paper into cardfront sizes in an attempt to use it up!Ā  The card base with pattern papper and mount was sitting on top of the small pile on my desk top waiting for sentiment inspiration when the request was made and happens to match the colours of the potted tulips she purchased.Ā  I added the die cut sentiment from Stamplorations popped up on fun foam and the flowers and leaves from my die cut stash also sitting on my desk.Ā  So I feel I have used something up! unfortunately the tub still has loads of pieces in it!Ā  I did finish up all the little leaves though.

Off to netball soon. Brrr looking at a wet and very chilly afternoon. Only 3 games to go for this season! We are currently sitting on the bottom of the ladder so no finals this year!.

Until next time

Thanks for stopping

Cheers

A Birthday card or 3…

Hello

Hope all your Christmas prep is well underway. Ā No. Mine either! I’ve been busy with other events my December babes and all the things that go with the end of year. Ā I find I can’t do Christmas shopping until after their birthdays cause they will get things from friends that were on my list! and I’d only have to take them back.

So today I am sharing the cards for those December birthdays.

Ms S was 17 on 2nd December

She celebrated by taking a small group of friends to a local restaurant and with GF cupcakes with meringue topping for dessert.

Ms A was 12 on 3rd December

We celebrated her birthday by having around 30, 12 year olds at home.

The treat bags

img_7640-640x633Ms S prepared these herself. Ā She was pretty pleased with herself sharing with her friends via social media.

To round out the birthdays Miss E was 21 on 7th.

We celebrated by having around 85 friends and family at home.

I made an exploding box.

Thank you to all the inspiration around blog land which helped me to come up with this.

I did have in mind this was to be a birthday cake – however everyone agrees it looks a little like a Wedding Cake. OOPs! Pretty sure we wont have need for one of these for a while yet, but my kiddos like to through me curve balls every now and then!

So over 4 days we had 3 parties (Thursday through to Sunday!). Ā Ms A also had to attend a party on the Friday night so we went to a party every day.

Last week we had Ms A’s Graduation from primary school ceremony and dinner. This coming Friday will see me finish at primary school after 16 years!

I do have another post planned before Christmas. Ā I hope you can pop in again.

I must get on and start planning Christmas Lunch. Ā Yes we are hosting.

Until next time

Cheers
