Happy Birthday with squares…

????????????????????????????

My hubby’s boss’s birthday. This is the card I made for him.

I punched out squares of Kaisercraft On the Move paper using 1 1/4″ punch. I then attached them to a piece of SBB CS and embossed this using SU Sizzix Square Lattice embossing folder. I embellished with ABS twine and layered with more cardstock onto card front. The sentiment is from SU Happiest Birthday Wishes set.

I am linking this upto the challenge at Sunny Challenges – Male card.

Wishing my eldest daughter luck she is sitting the UMAT later today.

(UMAT – Undergraduate Medicine and Health Sciences Admissions Test)

Next year she plans to study Medicine to later work in the area of Forensics.

Thanks for stopping and taking a peek.

Cheers

For my friend…

I have made this on behalf of our walking/book club group of friends. One of our lovely friends is having a birthday this week. We will be celebrating by going to lunch, a spot of retail therapy and discussing our latest read (Me before You – Jojo Moyne). Unfortunately our dogs will be left out this week! I am sure they will cope – although mine cries when she misses her normal walk with “her” friends. I don’t know how she knows it is dog friend walking day, but if we don’t go she sits at the back door crying. Any way I am off track. The lovely friend who I meet at playgroup with our youngest kiddos and who introduced me to the rest of the group is having a birthday this week.

One of the group has bought a joint gift and I have made this card. The dog in the cart was the most like a Jack Russel stamp I had (she has a jack russel) and my friend loves gardening. Doesn’t miss the annual flower and garden show so this was the perfect image for her.

I used a number of markers from SU, Tim Holtz, Zig and Marvy Le Plume to water colour my SU image. I sponged the edges with SU Bashful Blue before matting on to black cardstock. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Market Street Stamps Simply Salutations stamped onto a SU Sizzlits Lots of tags label die the whole panel is popped up with foam tape. The card front is SU DSP Cheerful Treat mounted again onto black cardstock with white ribbon from my stash added before fixing to card base. The final touch is felt flowers cut with MFT rolled flower die with a pearl centre.

I am pretty sure she is going to love it.

I am going to link this up to the following challenges

and

JAI Badge 2011

Best go get myself organised off to work soon.

Have a great day.

SC 065/12 + JAI 141

I am linking this card upto two challenges SC 065/12 and JAI 141

and

It is handy to have a sympathy card on hand for when the need arises.

I have used SBB kraft cardstock (similar to SU crumb cake) along with SU Very Vanilla and Wisteria Wonder Card stock – embossed with SU Elegant bouquet. I used SU ink and markers to colour my images before stamping. I used Versafine Onyx black to stamp my sentiment from PTI Mega Mixed Messages onto very vanilla cut with Lifestyle Crafts nesting oval scallop. The border die is from American Crafts Knock outs and the ribbon is seam binding ribbon from Kaszazz.

Miss 7 is all OK – but has stayed home from school today just in case.

The Greeting Farm – Summer Fun Amelia

I have used the cute TGF Summer Fun Amelia stamped in stazon black and coloured using Tim Holtz markers (tumbled glass, scattered straw & Mustard seed), SU markers (Pool party & blush blossom) and SU ink So saffron & daffodil delight). I used AC CS Powder and SBB CS Sand & Surf.  Dies I used are all Lifestyle crafts – Nested circles, nesting doily circles and Blossom. I cut the flower from PTI felt in Hawiian Shores and added a yellow button with grey embroidery cotton. The ribbon is from my ribbon jar. I added some clear spica pen to her hair and the ruffle on her bather bottoms – but it doesn’t show up in the photo – it is there!

I thought I would entry this card into the following challenges.

SC 062/12, Jay Gee’s Nook Challenge #24, TGF Double Take Tuesday Challenge & The Stamp Spot October Challenge…

for the sketch + one for the girls

and

for the colours, ruffle on her bikini bottoms looks like the screen and the flower in her hair

and

for a stamp from The Greeting Farm.

Hope your week is good.

A Cherry on top!

I got this set a few weeks ago and hadn’t inked it up yet. I feel really bad if I don’t ink or use things soon after I get them – its like did I really really need that?

Anyway I feel a bit better now I have inked this set up – or part of it anyway!

I haven’t made to many easel cards – this one was rather simple to make – so maybe I should make them more. Here is the link to the tutorial by Andrea at AnnaBelle Stamps http://www.stampinmoments.com/easel-card-tutorial.html.

I used SU A Cherry on Top stamp set along with a sentiment from SU Happy You. I also used SU Rose Red CS and SU Cheerful Treat DSP along with SU Melon Mambo, Regal Rose, So Saffron and Soft Suede inks and Garden Green marker. I also used a Fiskars oval punch.

I am going to enter this into Sunny Challenges for this week.

Hope your day has got off to a great start. I got a small parcel yesterday and can’t wait to play with it so I might get back a bit later with something else to share.

Thanks for taking the time to visit and if you left me a message I appreciate it.

10 x 10 Birthday Card

I have made this card for my friend who is celebrating a birthday early next week. I will pop this on the outside of her gift.

I used SU Easy Events coloured using SU Pool Party, Pretty in Pink and Marvy Le Plume Cream Yellow. I had some darker pink ink on a block from another project which I used to highlight the cupcake wrapper – can’t remember which ink colour it was – sorry.  I added glitter to the cup cake icing and Kaisercraft pearls to the cake stand. I punched it out using Fiskars 2″ punch and added another circle using Lifestyle Crafts nesting circles. Finished the bottom with SU Pool Party Baker’s Twine. The cardstock is from my stash.

I am going to enter this in this weeks Sunny Challenges Challenge.

If you are in Melbourne today I hope you have managed to stay out of the wind.

Sunny Challenges SC 055/12 + SU Happy You

I bet you didn’t think I would be back so soon! I have made this card for the Sunny Challenge SC055/12 – sketch + Christmas.

I have used MME DSP from a magazine along with cardstock from my stack and SU Happy You stamp set. I also used AnnaBelle Stamps Round for Christmas sentiment and markers as per earlier post. I used a 1 1/4″ circle punch to punch out wreaths and added them to the  card with foam tape.

I think that is all for now!

Just Add Ink Challenge JAI131 and Sunny Challenges SC54/12

I am entering this card in two challenges.

Just add ink JAI 131

http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com.au/

and

http://sunnychallenges.blogspot.com.au/

I started with a Very Vanilla card base. I turned the sketch upside down. I cut a piece of crumb cake cardstock which I Magical Masked with SU Garden Green ink. I added a torn piece of Chocolate Chip card stock to the bottom section of the card and wrapped a piece of household twine around it. I stamped a truck from SU I dig You and cut out and added to card top. I then stamped the dirt using crumb cake ink and added to the tray of the truck. I hadn’t tried Magical Masking Technique before making this card.

Thanks for stopping and taking a peek.

Just Add Ink 130, Sunny Challenges SC 053/12 and Scrapbook Boutique August Challenge

I have decided to combine three challenges for this card. I have made this for a friend’s birthday in a few weeks – don’t think she reads this so I shouldn’t spoil the surprise!

Just Add Ink Blue & Bling!

and

“All a Flutter – Add a butterfly”

http://scrapbookboutiquenews.blogspot.com.au/2012/08/a-new-challenge-has-started.html

I used SU Pacific Point cardstock, Bashful Blue and Brights DSP Pattern stack to make the general card base. I stamped the butterfly from SU Sweet Summer onto white cardstock. I die cut butterflies using SU Embosslits Beautiful Wings and Grace Taylor shimmer sheets & SU Pacific point cardstock. I positioned my butterflies onto my card and added rhinestones to the centre  for “bling”. The sentiment panel was stamped with Versa fine Onyx Black using SU Happiest Birthday Wishes stamp set onto Sizzlits Lots of Tags Label 1.

Another busy week ahead.  A combination of school closure day, half day school, class helper and the normal things that have to be done. I also must finish my eldest daughter’s dress for her formal on Friday! Almost there.

SC 052/12

I came across this challenge and thought I might have a go.

http://sunnychallenges.blogspot.com.au/

The challenge is based on a sketch by Christine Blain who is the guest designer at Sunny Challenges and Creations for the month of August. I need a card for a friend’s son who is turning 8 in a couple of weeks. I think he will like it and I’m pretty sure his mum will want to know how it was made.

I used mostly American Crafts cardstock and some scraps from my pile. Just a side question. Does anyone else have a scrap pile that never seems to get smaller or is it just me? Back on track. After creating the base with dark and light blue cardstock I used two orange brads from my tin and one orange button from AnnaBelle stamps. The button is secured with twine from PTI. The stamped panel was created by gently riping some green cardstock then I stamped images from My Cute Stamps Space ships and robots with SU inks (Tangerine tango, Pacific point, Wild wasabi and Daffodil delight). I stamped the robot onto white cardstock, cut him out and popped him up with foam tape. The sentiment panel was stamped from SU Happiest Birthday Wishes using SU Tangerine Tango, cut into a banner and popped up with foam tape.
