A Touch of Christmas…

Hi there – sorry this is a picture heavy post

IMG_3871

I used a CAS layout which came together quickly with the use of 1 1/4″ and 1 3/8″ square punches. I stamped my chosen images from Annabelle Stamps Merry Messages with SU Lucky Limeade, Real Red, Coastal Cabana, Colorbox Heliotrope and Versa Color Indigo and punched out with the smaller of the punches. I then layered these onto matching card stock punched using the larger square. Once these were placed on the card front I stamped the sentiment in Memento tuxedo black. The sentiments are from Annabelle Stamps Merry Messages and Christmas Tree Trio and MFT Seasonal Sentiments.

I made 5 of each colour and alternated with 5 sentiments. So each colour has one of each sentiment.

Miss A has her eyes on these for her teachers and friends.

Here is a close up of some of the cards

In our Thoughts…

Following the inspiration from this pic from the Lollipop Ladies

IMG_3870

Farewell can mean retirement, sympathy, moving away all sorts of things. I decided this sentiment left this fairly open.

I have used SU square lattice embossing folder, ABS Remember When sentiment and ABS Butterfly Sunshine. The butterfly is stamped onto vellum and coloured on the reverse with alcohol markers – sorry you may have seen me do that before, but I like the effect!

The sentiment was stamped onto a strip of cardstock and cut into a banner.

This card came together rather quickly once I decided what I was going to do!

I started with an image from Flourishes Spring Blossoms and coloured with alcohol markers. I hand cut into a tag shape, rounded the bottom corners and mounted onto some American Crafts cardstock. I popped this up with foam tape and layered this onto my card front with MME Miss Caroline 6×6 paper. I used an american crafts border punch along the top.  I used some ribbon to form a bow and added a button from my stash with some natural twine. The sentiment is from Inspired by Stampin Big Wishes. I finished off with some wink of stella on the flowers.

Before I go just a pic of my eldest before her graduation dinner last week.

She had her first year 12 exam today – 6 more to go!

She has 7 in total as the maths exams are split into 2.

Note: I cropped her head out of the pic because I haven’t asked her if she minds if I share!

Twisted Tuesdays – Celebration + Nature

It is one of Miss E’s oldest friend’s 18th Birthday today – they have been friends from 3 year old kinder, through 4 year old Kinder, primary and secondary school. Happy 18th Tash!

I have made this card for her – the requirements from Miss E were green & dinosaurs.

IMG_3803

Just heard the birthday girl liked the card.

I have used the sketch from Try stampin’ on Tuesdays and the the challenge from Twisted Tuesdays, I am linking up to these challenges.

I used a pre cut card finished size 12.5cm x 18.5cm. I used Kaisercraft La Di Da Paper along with green cardstock. I stamped the dinosaurs from Stampin UP!  Dinoraur in stazon timber brown and coloured with markers from Tim Holtz and Stampin UP!. I used circle punches to punch them out and popped them up with foam tape. I added some twine from Annabelle stamps and the die cut numbers from Papersmooches Numbers, by request no stamped words.

Today is also the last day of official classes for Miss E. Year 12 exams start in just over a week and graduation celebrations are next week – better get a wriggle on with the dress!

I began by making my own pattered paper. I used several different coloured ink refills in spray bottles with a little water. I wanted more colours than I have spray bottles for, so I dropped drops of food dye onto the paper. I left this all to dry overnight before  I cut a small piece to use on my card. Miss E (17) thought the process was interesting and took some pictures to show her friends. When Miss A (8) saw the paper in the morning she asked when could we make some more.  I think this is an outside activity with an 8 year old. If the weather holds we might just have a go at this. Miss S and Miss A have been busy covering old jam jars with scoobies (long plastic tubes – they were really popular a few years back) they plan to give them to their friends and keep a couple for trinkets (junk?) in their rooms.  I now have the job of die cutting some fabric to cover the lids. It is clearing out some unloved crafty supplies.

IMG_3734

Anyway once I had my paper I layered my piece onto some card stock from my stash. The sentiment is from Annabelle Stamps Boy’s Party and Cuts by design dies. I finished the card off with a couple of jewels from Kaisercraft Miss Nelly collection.

I made my own paper using a spray bottle and ink refill and a little water. I sprayed a small piece and then used what I wanted on this card. I layered with some  card stock from my stash. The butterflies from Annabelle stamps Butterfly Sushine set are stamped onto vellum and coloured on the reverse side with markers. I fussy cut them and added some wink of stella to add some glitter – can you see it in the picture above? All finished with a sentiment from the same set.

Here are few more pictures

I have used Waltzing Mouse Half Pint Heros coloured with alcohol markers. I cut my shape using Fiskars shape cutter and template – about time they were shown some love.  I sponged using Stampin UP! Pacific Point, The card stock is from My Minds Eye Party Time – something else needing some love.  The red stars are die cut from PTI die in Stampin UP! real red. Lastly the lovely buttons are hand made from Jane of http://janesdoodles.blogspot.com.au/. I was lucky to get some happy mail last week. They are lovely and bright perfect for this card.

IMG_3661

I have had a great day watching primary school children sing, dance, act and the odd joke at a performing arts afternoon. Miss A did a good job in the choir. Miss S had her first dance concert for the weekend earlier – off to see that tomorrow night.

Enjoy your weekend

Birthday Butterflies…

A little something for Miss A (8) to take to her party next week.

IMG_3633

I have used Uniko Round in Circles stamped in SU Melon Mambo along the base of my card front. I die cut 3 butterflies using Uniko butterfly die in glitter paper. The sentiment is from Uniko Fontiments Birthday stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and punched out using SU Artisan Label Punch and layered onto scrap of pink using the same punch.

Ahoy me hearties…

Sorry couldn’t help that.

This weeks challenge at the Lollipop Ladies is Pirate Lollipops and water.

I made this card using a digi image from http://madamebogg.blogspot.com.au/ coloured with markers along with stamps from Hero Arts and My Cute Stamps. Plus Heidi Grace patterned paper,  cardstock from my stash and Sizzix Woodgrain embossing folder.

IMG_3549

I tore the cardstock and layered before stamping my images onto the underwater scene. I stamped the shells and star fish onto scraps and cut out before adding to the water. The Pirate is standing on a piece of embossed woodgrain cardstock – like a part of a ship or a jetty. The sun is stamped and a punched circle added for the centre.

I was having fun so I made a second card.

IMG_3545

Using PTI Tremendous  Treats, My Cute Stamps – Fishy Fun and AnnaBelle Stamps Boy’s Party images. I have coloured the pirate with alcohol markers and Tim Holtz black soot.  I added some sparkle to my pirate with some glitter on his skull and cross.  I layered by using circle punches and popped up with foam tabs. The little boats are coloured with SU markers before being hand cut.

I am linking up to these challenges
