A challenge or two…

Hello

We are part way through the school holidays here.  Boy a week flies by so quickly.  Pity only another week before we are all back to our routines and sports.  Ms E and Mr M are still at uni though while Ms S and Ms A are home along with hubby.  When Ms E went to uni in Geelong yesterday the girls and I tagged along for a day trip to the arts and craft shops down there.  There are a few art supply shops within working distance of each other not to mention a Kaiser outlet on the drive into town from Uni.  I was rather restrained and only purchased 3 items not on my list!  Although I did top up Ms A’s craft stash.

Here are a couple of cards I have made.

For the current challenge at Scrapbook Boutique here

and

at Seize the Birthday here

no toppings for me this time

me up and away

I have used ME up and away and co ordinating dies coloured with alcohol markers.  The sponging and background cardstock are SU dapper denium. I used a piece of card board cut out as a stencil for my clouds.  The sentiment is from Papersmoches Hullabalo.

While I had the sponges out I created this card with PTI Tremendous treats

Fantasy Stampers here

I needed a new book mark for book club so I created this one by colouring my stamp block with markers and stamping into the ink before stamping onto my paper.  By doing this I got a few variations of colour on each stamped image to replicate “fall” or autumn as we call it here in Australia.  I used images from SU Thoughtful branches and Jane’s Doodles Read all about it.  Even though I used greens, browns and orange markers the orange markers look pink in the photo above.  Trust me they are orange!

I have also began work on a HST quilt top. Will share that another day.

Until next time

21st balloons…

Hello

The day started nice and sunny and has now turned grey with hail here in Melbourne.  We do truely get 4 seasons in one day on occasion.  Marvelous Melbourne 🙂

As we are in the grip of 21st Season here I have yet another 21st card and gift bag to share.

IMG_7411 (640x395)

I have used SU Best year ever paper and co ordinating coastal cabana cs to create the gift bag and card.  I used the gift bag punch board with paper 17 cm x 30.5 cm for the closure of this bag I used the paper flower made from packing paper and scallop circle punches.  For the card I used SU balloon framelits, SU Thoughtful banners and Uniko Classic Numbers stamp sets – the perfect size to stamp onto the balloon.  The twine is also coastal cabana.

I am linking this up to the current challenge at Uniko – Challenge #35

There are songs both about turning “21” and balloons.

Until next time

Happy Birthday…

Hello

My card today I linking up to the following challenges

NBUS #6 here

Never-Before-Used-Schtuff (Stamps, Dies, EFs, etc.)

and

Uniko February colour challenge here

Uniko digital image (640x478)

I have used a NBUS free Uniko digi stamp (details can be found on Uniko blog – thanks Bev).  I printed onto cardstock. This was then coloured with SU markers tempting turquoise, pretty in pink and Soft sky.  After which I added a wink of stella to the balloons and “happy” before adding some glossy accents to the balloons.  This was then mounted on coordinating cardstock and pattern paper from SU sweet taffy. A reasonably quick card if you exclude the glossy accents drying time! So I wasn’t tempted to test I put it on just before Ms E dropped me at the school on her way to work just in time for school pick up.  It was ready when we got home.  We should walk to/from school more often it would make getting my daily step count really easy – a round trip takes about one hour.

Any way I hope to play with a least one other item from my NBUS stack before the challenge closes. Darnell’s challenge is just the push to use things. Thanks Darnell.

Until next time

Cheers

What I love + Endless Birthday wishes…

Hello

Popping in with this card which I am linking up to the current challenge at The Colour Tree here

and

Uniko – Anything Goes Challenge here

and

Seize the Birthday here

I had all the best intentions to make this earlier in the week.

IMG_7260 (640x438)

I have used SU What I love and Endless Birthday wishes stamped with SU Rose Red, Garden Green and Blushing Bride ink.  For the 3 step flower I used Rose red stamped off first to get a third colour/shade of pink. I fussy cut 3 flowers and popped them up with foam tape. To colour the leaves I swiped some garden green ink onto my craft sheet and picked up the colour with a blender pen.  The card base is crumb cake mounted with blushing bride and very vanilla.  To finish I added sequins from my stash (you know a small bag from the local trimmings shop is going to last me a lifetime!)

Hoping the weather clears as we are planning a trip to Werribee Zoo twilights.

Last few days before school holidays finish.  Hubby has been back to work most days, you wouldn’t believe he was on school holidays and I worked one day this week from home.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend

Thanks for stopping

Uniko Challenge…

Hello

Since my last post we have played the netball Grand Final. The girls did a great job. It was a draw which meant they went into overtime. Very bad for the nerves! At the last score the girl’s lost by 2. It was a great game.

I went to a craft fair here in Melbourne last weekend where I caught up with a few people some of which I follow on line and one I got to meet in person for the very first time. I bumped into the owners of a bricks and mortar store which they have since closed so it was nice to chat with them.  I only purchased a couple of small items, the items on my wishlists weren’t available there. So hubby was happy when I got home.

Today little Ms 10 ran in the district 800m. She was so spent at the end a great effort – she finished 8th.

Anyway I am sure you came to visit to see my card not hear me waffle

Today I am sharing a card I am linking up to the Uniko Challenge Summer here with the twist of the following pic.

For me Summer means a lot of things, but having 3 girls birthdays in the first few days of Summer (2nd, 3rd & 7th December) it means birthdays. As they also seem to have lots of friend’s birthdays around the same time.

uniko balloon bash 1 (640x446)

I used Uniko Balloon Bash stamped using PTI Raspberry Fizz ink. I got the colour variations by stamping off the colour. I used the sentiment from Uniko Classic numbers stamped in SU smokey slate ink. The word “Happy” was die cut and layered using SU Hello You thinlits. All this was mounted onto a piece of pink cardstock.

Round in circles meets Awesomely Artistic…

Hello

School holidays are under way here. Yesterday we had a visit to the dentist for Ms 15, Ms 10 and me. Ms 15 and I had a seal on a tooth each and I had to have a filling replaced as it had fallen out and I hadn’t noticed! My dentist’s father had put the original filling in when I was much younger. Today was a trip to the orthodontist for Ms 15 to check her plate. I think that is all the necessary stuff sorted so we should be able to enjoy the rest of the break.

Anyway you didn’t visit today to hear about our dental visits.

Today I am sharing a card I have made using a mix of stamp sets.

I wanted to get another masculine card made for my stash – I think I will have a few more boy birthdays soon.

I am linking to the challenge at Uniko – Anything goes with optional twist of masculine here

I had the Uniko stamp set Background Builders Round in Circles, SU Smoky slate and Real red inks on my desk with Island Indigo ink when I saw the SIP challenge. I switched the Island Indigo for Bermuda bay and added the new set of SU Awesomely Artistic and the Uniko Studio Classic Numbers sentiment.

Here is my card

uniko round in circles (640x466)

I mounted the main panel onto SU real red cardstock. I have kept most of the stamping to the bottom 2/3.

Uniko nautical treasures (640x459)

I created my own patterned paper using Uniko Nautical Treasures in SU River Rock and Smoky Slate inks. The main image from Uniko Nautical Treasures is stamped with SU Smoky slate ink. I mounted with SU night of navy cardstock. I used Mama Elephant Sew Fancy Dies to create waves, pattern beside the main image and the stitching around the sentiment panel. I also used Inspired by Stamping Fancy Label dies 3 and a 2″ circle punch for the sentiment panel. The sentiment is from PTI Star prints stamped in SU night of Navy ink. The sentiment panel was attached to some double sided adhesive paper I have had for ages and attached to some fun foam to give dimension. The twine is from Annabelle Stamps.
