Unstampabelles #118: The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Hello

It’s that time of year! Is everyone super busy? It has been very busy in my house, loads of things happening with my 4 kiddos/young adults now!

Today I’m sharing my super simple Christmas Card for Unstampabelles. This card could not be any simplier! A fab die cut in glitter paper mounted onto red card and all added to a square card base. Perfect for that last minute card!

Hope you have time to link up your creation at Unstampabelles.

The challenge this month is…….

#117: November: Colour my World

TWIST: make it colourful

This is quite an open theme – it can be about someone colouring your world, or about something colourful in your world or about colour -what is your favorite?

As Christmas is almost here I have made a colourful Christmas card. I die cut 5 trees from bright cardstock and used glitter paper to die cut the sentiment. The trees are finished with a silver die cut star.

I am also linking up to the challenge at Christmas Card Throwdown

Hope you can join in the challenge

Until time

Cheers

#116: Everyone has a Story

Hello

My turn to share at Unstampabelles today

TWIST:use a page from a book somewhere in your piece

My page from a book is a page from an old phone directory. We don’t have these anymore, however before the last one went in the recycling I tore out a few pages with the intent on using them on cards or a paper creation of some kind. Well today is the day! I have coupled a piece of the page with a coloured section of some black and white pattern paper to create a “happy new home” card. And that is the story part – or at least the start of a new chapter for someone.

What will you create? What is your story? Join in the challenge here

Until next time

Cheers

Challenge #115: Salutations and Greetings TWIST stencils in background

Hello

It’s my turn to share at Unstampabelles

September’s Challenge is : Salutations and Greetings

TWIST stencils in background

The TWIST of a stencilled background is to get you using those stencils laying around in some form or other – or you can make your own stencil and use that to create a background. The background can be in chalk, paint, ink, but we must see the stencilling clearly to make sure it is not a stamp. Some stencils and stamps look so alike.
A 3D object made from card that has been stencilled or a scrapbook page or a journal piece….or a card! Whatever direction your creative juices can take you with this is fine.

You can find the link here

I made a bunch of stencil backgrounds a little while ago with embossing paste. I have used one as the background for this card. The embossing paste was tinted with ink.

A simple die cut greeting, once in gold foil and once with foam, finished with a few vellum leaves.

Sympathy cards are never nice to make. Sadly this week I had 2 to send as 2 of my friends lost their 90 year old relatives.

I hope to see you in the challenge

Until next time

Cheers

August Challenge#114: It’s All About Me! Twist is to use a self portrait

Hello

My turn to share at Unstampabelles today

Add our button if you wish

ALL ABOUT ME! with the TWIST of  using a self portrait
BUT the portrait does not have to be a photo!
What can you make of that?
Remember, it can be a card, a tag, a scrap page, a journal page or a 3D paper thingy! BUT no stamps please!

I decided on a journal cover using Artplorations Wistful face stencil from Stamplorations and some rubons. Are you like me and keep crafty notes and ideas everywhere? I really love the “feel” of a notebook or journal.

Completed journal/folder cover – a little bit of creative license with the portrait!

I had a few ideas before settling on the stencil. A scrapbook page was ruled out as I’m not a big one for public photos or selfies and you don’t need to be for this challenge.

Until next time

Thanks for stopping

Cheers

Unstampabelles Challenge #113; Art and all that Jazz TWIST is make it multi media

Hello

Today is my turn to share on the Unstampabelles Challenge blog here

Add our button if you wish

Art and all that Jazz

The TWIST is to make it a multi media piece of workmul·ti·me·di·a(mŭl′tē-mē′dē-ə, -tī-)The combined use of mediaOROf or relating to the combined use of several media: a multimedia installation at the art gallery.

Now, techniquely  any piece of multi media is ART so the twist is done along with the theme! However, you can create with whatever art you are into: music, painting, carving, writing, drawing, making stuff…………….the art of craft……….. as long as you don’t use stamps and it is paper craft related…….

PS: You don’t have to incorporate jazz into it either but if you want to….let it rip!

I don’t consider multi media my strong point. I rather think I don’t like to get too messy! and really like things a little organised and precise! But hey that is what challenges are suppose to be about – challenging out of our comfort zone!

I used a background I created a few weeks ago with a stencil and paste coloured with ink. I added a die cut sentiment from glitter card stock and die cut guitars – my jazzy theme! I then added stome black enamel accents and black sequins. I may have gone slightly overboard with the enamel accents!

I hope you have a go at this challenge even if it is ou of your comfort zone like me!

Thanks for stopping

Cheers

Unstampabelles June challenge:#112 Seasons and Seasonal TWIST: use handmade flower(s)

Hello

My turn to share this week at the Unstampabelles challenge here

#112: Seasons and Seasonal

with the TWIST: use handmade flower(s)

REMEMBER: No stamps!

At the moment it is the start of winter here in Melbourne, I am already looking forward to summer though. I do like roses and have several white iceberg standards in my garden however they are not in flower at the moment – they tend to look their best here in early November. Picture the Melbourne Cup at Flemington for those into horse racing. So roses are definately a seasonal flower.

A close up of the textured rose paper I made. I used the Stamplorations (Artplorations) stencil Old Rose Prints, textured paste, re-inkers and a touch of glitter.

I cut my piece down and added to co ordinating cardstock to one side of my card base. I used rolled roses with enamel centres and die cut leaves to complete my card.

I am linking my card upto the current Stencil challenge at Stamplorations here

Now while I had the texture paste, reinkers and glitter out I made a few other pieces!

I kind of got carried away! I would have made more too except I ran out of bench and floor space in my craftroom. Yep I started putting pieces on the floor to dry. I’m sure I have enough to last me for years now.

Thanks for stopping. Don’t forget to check out the Unstampabelles blog and enter the challenge.

Cheers

Unstampabelles #111…

Hello

Popping in to share my creation for the current challenge at Unstampabelles here

#111: ADVENTURES – TWIST use something three times
The adventure can be one you are having or someone else has had or will be having…..it is up to you to interpret the theme!
Repetition is the key – three buttons; one word – repeated there times;three different papers or ribbons or die cuts…..whatever is in threes.
We have some excellent inspiration for you

Remember, you can do anything that is paper craft related BUT NO STAMPS!

So I’ve gone with the adventure of a hot air balloon ride.

And for the twist I’ve used 3 hot air balloons, 3 clouds and 3 stickers!

Die cuts from SU Up&Away thinlits, stamplorations cutplorations and uniquely creative. Stickers also from Stamplorations. I die cut the largest balloon in fun foam and popped the smallest balloon up with foam tabs to give some extra dimension.

I hope to see you join in the fun at Unstampabelles.

Until next time

Cheers

Challenge #110: Animal Fun!

Hello

Popping in today to share my make for the latest challenge at Unstampabelles here

Challenge #110: Animal Fun!

TWIST: Layer it Up!

Any animal you use – human or non-human – will fit this one

Just Remember please: NO STAMPS!

I’ve opted to make a punch art owl. Check out last weeks post to, owls seem to be a DT favourite!

I have had this punch art “recipe” in my ideas file for a long time, so long I have forgotten where I got it from – it is hand written on a cue card! If it is your idea thank you. Below are a few photos of the basic shapes I used. The small orange heart is used for the beak.

I popped my owl up on a stenciled background with some foam tabs for dimension along with a few die cut leaves.

Until next time

Thanks for stopping

Challenge #109 at Unstampabelles

Hello

It’s my turn to share on the Unstampabelles Blog this week.

I will admit this was a real challenge for me and at a stretch meets the requirements!

Lockdown

TWIST: Scrap It! (but card/journalling will be accepted if they follow theme)

You can  let your hair down here and show us what is happening at home while in lockdown!

You can join the challenge here

Add our button if you wish

If you have been following me for a while you know I am not a scrapbooker. However I do dabble in other areas, one of which is sewing and more specfically quilting. So for my take on the challenge I decided to use scraps to create a new journal cover for my quilt journal. I keep notes on the quilts I have made such as where I purchased the fabric, fabric quantities, block design/pattern and a finished pic of the quilt. How does this relate to lockdown? For most of last year I did continue to go to work in the city office upto the point when we were in stage 4 lockdown which was for 6 weeks however that ended up being about 3 months! In that time I spent a great deal of time watching webinars and using my time to create items for charity.

I used scrap pattern paper and stitched triangle dies to create this half squre triangle pattern. I then added the word “quilt” to create a new journal cover.

Here it is on the cover of my journal.

Now a few pics. One of my first journal entries followed by some of the many creations from 2020.

Quilts from pram size and knee size. These quilts don’t have batting. They are called summer quilts. Qult tops are made from off cuts from a charity I attend – Days for Girls, pieces from Donations in Kind, upcycled jeans and general pieces gifted to me.
This was a quilt I made for a friend.

Thanks for stopping

Hope to see you in the challenge

Cheers
