Ah Christmas…

Hello

Today I have a Christmas Card which I am linking up to the current challenge at Scrapbook Boutique here

My inspiration was the gingham check and red. I have used some ancient Quickcutz dies with the central bauble is popped up with foam tape.  I think the dies were one of my first ever dies and the beginning of my shopping online for crafty supplies.  I had purchased a Quickutz die cutting machine from a local craft store and needed accessories to use with it, googled and found SBB.

Anyway back to my card. I also used some Cosmo Cricket Baby Jane pattern paper (also quiet old!) and another unknown pattern paper. I coloured the tops of the baubles with one of the kiddos Artline pens, you know the things on the book list the kiddos never use, you buy them anyway and hope. The deer is from ME  No Peeking coloured with copics and the sentiment is from ME Winter wonderland.  At the request of Ms 12 I added a little wink of stella to the scarf to finish off.

A little update on the exams in this house – in short they are done for this year.  Ms E (21) has finished her 4 year course in forensics and criminology currently deciding on her next step. Mr M (19) has just completed his 2nd year of Engineering & Robotics and Ms S (17) has finished her year 12 exams – results on 15th December.  She is pretty confidient she will have the right score to get into Oesteopathy.  Little Miss A (12) is almost finished her first year of high school.

Thanks for stopping and listening to my waffle!

I’ll be back soon – I have had a creative Sunday!

Cheers

Vicki

Party Girl x 3…

Hello

Today I am sharing 3 cards.

I am linking them up to the current challenge at Scrapbook Boutique here

Copy our Badge for your Blog

I began by stamping the Prima Julie Nutting Image Party Girl 3 times with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Xpress blending cardstock and coloured with a mix of Sprectrum Noir, Kaisercraft and SU Blendabilities alcohol markers finished with clear wink of stella.

I then made these into 3 cards

This first one I used My Mind’s Eye Lime Twist pattern paper and SU Hello Honey Cardstock.

IMG_6752 (484x640)

This one I used Lily Bee Design Harvest Market pattern Paper and SBB Cherry Cardstock from the brights pack. The flags are cut from a scrap using SU Balloon framelits dies.

The last card I layered Cosmo Cricket Mini Deck Baby Jane pattern paper and black cardstock. Once again I used the SU Balloon framelits to cut the flags.

Pajama Party…

Hello

Hope your week is going well.

There is a Pajama Party on at Waltzing Mouse Stamps

I took this sketch and flipped it so the circles are on the right side of the image

I am also linking to  the challenge at Muse

Muse Challenge #89

This is an attempt for me to use some of the patterned paper I have collected.

Thank you Therese for the inspiration.

Before I started I consulted Ms 9 on which image she liked best and colours to use.

She chose the elephant from WMS Half Pint Heroines which I stamped onto blending cs with memento tuxedo black and coloured with alcohol markers.  I chose some patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket Mini deck Baby Jane to create the card front and banners. I added SU Pool Party ribbon. The sentiment chosen by Ms 9 is from the same set again stamped with memento tuxedo black and popped up with foam tabs. I used a 1 1/4″ circle punch and layered into on Artisan label punch. The banners are a mix of free hand cut and the SU Banner punch. After playing with buttons and paper flowers I settled on hearts punched from the patterned paper with SU itty Bitty Accents heart punch and finished with some glossy accents.

Today I’ve booked tickets to the girl’s dance concert in November then I joined a relatively new group of friends at the local library for 2 hours of crafty time. These ladies are so inspiring. I am in awe of one lady who is 95 hand stitches beautifully, doesn’t wear glasses and is more mobile than some half her age.  I wish she would share her secret 🙂  We come together in the middle of the library for 2 hours (or whatever we can spare) and do a crafty project with a cuppa and a chat. Some are making hand stitched quilts, one lady makes envelopes freehand, some crochet and some knit. Today I started a doll from Knitted Babes – Claire Garland. Here is a link to the ravelry page

Some have been creating for a long time others are new and come to learn.  Miss 9 had so much fun coming with me in the recent school holidays I have to take her crafty projects for show and tell so the group can see what she has been creating.

Until next time

A couple of birthdays…

Sorry this is a long post. Hope you can bear with me.

I have made this card for a friend’s husband – apparently he isn’t happy about “the number”. I might be the same when I get there! I used punches to create the angry bird – I was inspired by a something I saw on a forum.

There is a tutorial here  http://stampinwithniki.blogspot.com.au/2011/12/angry-birds-tutorial.html.

I am linking this upto the monthly challenge at the Stamp Spot – heart – (http://thestampspot.blogspot.com.au/) I actually used to heart shapes

http://movingalongwiththetimes.blogspot.com.au/ – punch it out

Another friend shares the same birthday and I made this for her

IMG_3161

I used lots of different sentiment stamps to make the word panel – if I miss naming one please forgive me. I also used some dies to create the flourish and the felt flowers. When I gave this to my friend this morning she couldn’t believe I had individually stamped each word.

and another version of this for Miss A’s godmother

and after seeing the angry bird I made for the card above one of Miss E’s oldest friends made a comment so I made this tag as a book mark for her.

I am linking this tag upto the challenge http://www.sarahhurleychallenges.blogspot.com.au/ – anything but a card

Thanks for hanging in there.

Mr M and Miss A have not long arrived home from school. I made them walk today as I have a house full of 13 year old girls! Better go and check the party pies.

Hope you have a great weekend.

Moxiefab WCMD and Birdie Brown – Thinking of You

Always handy to have a thinking of you card around. I am linking this to the Moxiefab WCMD challenge and Birdie Brown.

I have used SU Concord crush, Cosmo Cricket Mini Deck Baby Jane along with some green from my draw of scraps.  Image is Gnome Boy free digi from Birdie Brown (he is too cute) along with sentiment from Hero Arts Playful Animals. Coloured with markers Tim Holtz (Spiced Marmlade & Shabby Shutters), SU (Blush Blossom, Midnight Muse, Not Quite Navy & Gumball Green), SU Real red ink and Marvy Le Plume (Yellow, Crimson Lake and Mocha).

Hope your week has got off to a great start. Children (and husband) back at school today. Hopefully I will finish off a few projects this week, including some dance costumes.

Thanks for stopping.

Cheers
