A bag and gift tag + Playing with Poppy Sketches

Hello

Happy Monday

I found a little time over the weekend to play with these two challenges

I love badgeCreate a bag and a gift tag

My entry

Gift bag (640x493)

I was inspired by Sam’s Extra massive bag at pootles.co.uk – although I have changed the dimensions a bit.

I used two pieces of SU brights cs 11″ x 12″ and scored both the same. Along the 11″ side at 2″ and 10″ and 12″ side at 1″ and 5″.

I folded the score lines. I then joined the sides, folded down the top and then folded in the bottom and secured. I cut a piece of cs to reinforce the base 6.5″ x 3.5″ and placed in the bottom of the bag with double sided tape. Next I punched holes in the top and threaded ribbon through to make the handles.  Finished bag size 7″W x  4″D x 8″ H.

I then made a co ordinating tag. I used the SU Scallop tag punch and whisper white cs and an off cut of the same patterned paper and a scallop border punch. I stamped SU label something with PTI Raspberry Fizz ink and used the hexagon punch. I created the mount with a small piece of matching cs (not sure of brand). Finished with ribbon.

The bag is the right size to hold some T2 tea for a present.

jane's doodles (455x640)

I made this card using Jane’s Doodles janesdoodles.blogspot.com free digital stamp. I coloured with alcohol markers (mostly Kaisercraft). I die cut using MFT Tags Stax and layered with violet cs. I popped this onto my card front which I had adhered some pink cs (brand unknown) and some gold coloured self adhesive ribbon I got from a stationery store. I added SU little leaves cut from gold glitter paper and a flower from MFT rolled flowers with a gold rhinestone. Finishing touches were ribbon, wink of stella followed by glossy accents and a few clear sequins.

It is nice a sunny here today so I managed to get a pic of the glittery image.

There is still time to play along with both these challenges.

Thanks so much for taking a peek (and all your lovely comments).

All about spring

Use it Tuesday

I have used a free digital image printed onto water colour paper coloured with Stampin UP! markers and spica pens. I used Fiskars scallop border punch for the bright pink border. Buttons from my button jar threaded with hemptique twine.

As a requirement of the Use it Tuesday – using hoarded supplies the newest item on my card is the twine purchased before Christmas – everything else is much older. As for the buttons I have no idea how many years they have been sitting in my jar!

School holidays here.  A few projects in mind and outings with the children planned – fingers crossed I get somethings achieved!

If you celebrate Easter – Easter blessings to you and yours.  Hope the Easter bunny hops my way.

Cheers

Butterflies and flowers…

S

I have used Stampin UP! Papillon Potpourri and Floral District Patterned Paper along with SU Cardstock and ink for this butterfly card – haven’t added a sentiment. Not sure who I will be giving this to – when I know I will add the sentiment. Just had to play with these butterflies. I think I will have to get the matching punches – I already have a set of butterfly stamps from PTI and their matching dies – but I “needed” this set  too! I love butterflies.
SThis card I have used Stampin UP! Bright Blossoms stamp set coloured with markers. The paper is SU Summer Smooches and SU Cardstock.

Not linking these up to any challenges – just sharing a few things I made earlier in the week.

Had a bit of fun earlier today at Scienceworks. We spent most of the morning in the sports area doing various tests and ball challenges. Miss S (13) and Miss A (8) tried their legs out running. We finished off the day with Miss A making a Kaliedescope.

Hope you have had a great day. Enjoy your weekend – a long one if your in Aus.

Cheers

JAI #143

The Challenge at Just add Ink is a colour challenge this week.

I am entering this card into the challenge.

I have used mostly SU products with the exception of the twine and the border punch.

Slowly making some Chrissy cards. How is everyone else going?

Thanks for taking a peek.

Cheers

Bottle Tag

A quick little tag I made up and thought I would enter into the AnnaBelle Stamps challenge this week – Christmas 3D

I tried to take a shot of the tag only to give a better look …

Used up some card stock from my stash along with DSP from Lily bee Design – Jingle Tiny Tablet. I also used AnnaBelle Stamps Round for Christmas – sentiment and the snow flakes stamped in SU Marina Mist ink  back ground are from AnnaBelle Stamps Gifted Swirls. I also used Fiskars border punch, EK Success 1 1/8″ and 1 1/4″ circle punches. This all came together rather quickly.

I watched a tutorial at stampembelishcreate earlier today. It was a technique I had seen before, but I had forgotten about. I must try it this time! So hopefully I will be back with something else to share before the end of the week.

In case you are curious the school performance went well. There was one little convict who was trying really really hard not to smile. They were suppose to be all serious and stern looking – just as well she is small and cute!  She did however do a really mean scary face in the “fight” part of the act … umm has that got something to do with being the youngest of 4? In summing up it was a great concert. As we have ordered the DVD we will be able to watch it over and over again – and she will!

Thanks for stopping by.

Pinwheel challenge at Embellish Magazine and The Greeting Farm Fresh Friday

Hi. Hope everyone’s day has got off to a great start. Student free day so have my youngest home today plus I am expecting some tradesmen any time now! We all know how predictable tradies are right?

Anyway I have two cards to share today.

Splendid Stamping with The Greeting Farm

http://splendidstamping.blogspot.com.au/2012/08/farm-fresh-friday-paper-piecing.html

The first is for The Greeting Farm Fresh Friday Challenge Paper Piercing. This is a technique I only tried a little while ago and I am enjoying it.

I have used The Greeting Farm Miss Anya Collection along with sentiment from PTI Train Tracks. I used Twine from SU, cardstock from American Crafts and Pebbles. A Fiskars border punch and tag die from life style crafts. This card is for a 13 year old girl I think she came up alright.

http://embellishmagazine.com/blog/2012/08/pinwheel-color-trends-challenge/

The second card is a first for me. This is the first pinwheel I have ever made. I was surprised at how easy it was. I used DSP from MME Miss Caroline for the pinwheel and a brad from my stash along with a tooth pick for the handle. I used PTI Tiny Tags and die stamped with SU Regal Rose and Soft Suede tied with Blossom twine from the The Twinery. The other cardstock is also from my stash. I punched out butterflies from kraft cardstock using carl and armada punches. Finished off with some rhinestones and hand drawn butterfly trials.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers
