My new favourite – Number of Years…

Hello

Hope you have a great week and if you’re an Aussie had a great Australia Day.

Today I am sharing my newest favourite stamp set.  I will try to make a card soon using another stamp set.

Anyway my card today I am linking to two challenges

Firstly The Colour Tree Challenge here

and

Seize the Birthday here – sorry no toppings for me this time

This card is for the girl’s ex-dancing teacher.  For many of you you would know my children dance.  All three girls have been doing Jazz and tap for a number of years.  For a couple of years Ms S and Mr M also did hip hop.  The teacher sold her school to another teacher a couple of years ago, but still keeps in touch.  Ms E and Ms S have been asked to perform a dance along with the rest of their group at the teacher’s 60th Birthday party next week.  So of course the girls asked me to make a card.

I have used SU Number of Years stamp set with gold embossing powder die cut with the co-ordinating die and popped up with fun foam. I stamped other images from the set with black ink, SU Soft Suede ink and mint macaron marker direct to the stamp.   This was placed on the rest of the card front with foam tape. The card base is white with a very vanilla mount and a smaller gold stripe mount from Winter Wonderland paper pack.  I added a piece of mint macaron lace (NBUS) before attaching the mounts to the card base.  I had to add some gold sequins from my stash for two reasons 1. I felt the card needed a little more bling! and 2. In recognition of all the sequin fabric we have had over the years!

Before I leave I hope to have a little more creative time soon. My second part time job has had a change of management and as a result my role will no longer be required as  it is their policy to outsource this role to the local council.  I am not sad as I am hoping I will gain a few more hours to play in my craft room soon 🙂  In the first challenge I entered for the colour tree challenge Bronwyn included a pdf file for a spring planter box card, hopefully with the extra hours I gain soon I will be able to give it a go.

Until next time

Cheers

Vicki

A couple for the Male folk…

Hi

I made these a couple of weeks ago but had forgotten to share – Hubby had needed a card for the next day and of course I had nothing in my card stash suitable.

He chose this first one

Inlaid Birthday (519x640)

I used various strips of patterned paper. I stamped the “happy” from PTI Birthday bash sentiments with versafine onyx black and clear heat embossed. I cut the “birthday” from PTI Birthday trio die – I used the cut out in the card below whilst I inlaid with green cardstock.

This one is left for another time

Good times (534x640)I used The Craft’s Meow Good times stamped in SU old olive ink along with PTI Polka Dot Parade #5 stamped with versafine onyx black and PTI Birthday die from the first card.

This morning I am off to the school book parade. Ms A (9) is dressed as the white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland – a dance costume I made for her a few years ago.

Have a great weekend

Thanks for stopping and leaving all your lovely comments.

Cheers

Vicki

Season’s Greetings…

IMG_3792

Hi. My second post for today. I have been making a bit of dent in the Christmas Cards.

I have used Annabelle stamps Round for Christmas, Ornamental Christmas and Gifted Swirls. I stamped the images in SU Pacific Point – some I also used clear embossing powder and versamark before heating with my heat tool. After I stamped the baubles from Ornamental Christmas I added Wink of Stella to them. All the sentiments are stamped in versafine onyx black. The cardstock is Blue passion from La Carta.

and another pic of the box

I made the box by starting with the card stock (Kaisercraft) base size, adding the side measurement, cutting, scoring and taping. I did the same for the acetate lid. This box has 6 cards (2 of each) plus the envelopes. I could fit a few more in as these are flat cards.

I am linking this up to the following challenges – Click on the images to take you to the sites

Create a set of at least 3 cards + a box
