A little more water colouring…

Hello

I have one more card from my watercolour play to share

I am linking up to the monthly challenge at Stamplorations here

stamplorations blooming buds (545x640)

I stamped and coloured onto watercolour paper. The darker areas of colouring I added using water colour pencils from the same set. The stamp is Stamplorations Blooming buds and the sentiment is from Jane’s Doodles Doodle Flowers II.

Thanks for stopping

Cheers

Pretty Peonies and Anemones from Jane’s Doodles…

Hello

As I had hoped I got a little uninterrupted crafty time yesterday. So I was able to get out a watercolour set I have had for a few months. So I have now given them a warm welcome.

Sorry lots of pics today.

Today’s card(s) I am linking to the following challenges.

The Paper Players #252 – The Great Outdoors here

and

Get Creative Challenges #18 – must include flowers here

Get Creative Challenges

and

I took my colour inspiration from this website/advertising pic I found here

Jane's Doodles anemone (640x448)

I used Jane’s Doodles Anemone for this card. I used a mask and stamped the image multiple times with Memento tuxedo black before colouring with Royal Langnickel watercolour set.

and

jane's doodles anemone 3 (640x397)

This set of 2 cards I again masked and coloured. The sentiment is from Jane’s Doodles Doodle Flowers II.

and

jane's doodles pretty peonies 2 (503x640)

This card I did a little different I swooshed around some colour before I stamped my images from Jane’s Doodles Pretty Peonies, Anemone and Doodle Flowers II. I think I like this result better as the black stamping is on top.

and

Jane's doodles pretty peonies (506x640)

For this card I watercoloured my paper in blocks and then stamped. I finished this card with a few clear sequins.

These two final cards I am linking to the challenge at

Freshly Made Sketches #194 here

stamplorations about a rose (640x412)

For these cards I watercoloured an area first before stamping the image from Stamplorations About a rose in memento tuxedo black ink. The sentiment is from Jane’s Doodles Pretty Peonies finished with a line drawn with a fineliner. The card on the left I also added a few clear sequins.

Thanks for making it all the way to here! I have managed to ink up a few NBUS sets, use a piece or two of card stock from my stash and get my watercolours wet.

Cheers

Book labels with Jane’s Doodles…

Hello

Hope you had a great weekend.

I had the Melbourne Zoo Birthday Party with my girls and Ms 14’s boyfriend. Mr 16 had his girl friend’s Debutante Ball.

Anyway I also had a little time to play.

Image 1

I had wanted to make some more book labels for my book club friends. These will be gifts. I know from now till the end of the year is pretty busy in our house with lots of birthdays, dance concert, school stuff and other bits and pieces that happen that I wanted to get something under way now.

I have used a few different sets to make these up.

The one set which is consistent is Jane’s Doodles Read all about it – for the words – “This book belongs to: “. I have also used Janes’s Doodles Doodle Flowers II and Raindrops along with PTI Happy Hexagons, Uniko Background Builders Vines and Kaszazz Stitched Borders.  I have used both water based and alcohol based markers and inks from SU and PTI along with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. All labels are stamped onto SU Whisper white cs 5 cm x 9 cm. To adhere to the inside covers I have attached pieces of double sided tape to the back which can be removed when adding to books.  I was trying to link stamps to books we have read for example we recently read The Language of Flowers – Vanessa Diffenbaugh.

This wouldn’t be complete with out a new book mark

I used Jane’s Doodles Flying High along with Read all about it and the book mark top is made using SU scallop tag punch and finished with ribbons.

I also made this at the weekend

IMG_5517 (640x427)

I used CWA lemon butter recipe. It made 2 jars this size. Mr M (16) just asked when I was going to make more – yep it’s all gone!

We made dozen lemon tarts with pastry cases and lemon butter filling the rest we ate on ice cream, in yogurt and on toast/muffins.

Jane’s Doodles …

Hello

I’ve made a set of little note cards and packaged into a re purposed box. I am linking up to the challenge at Jane’s Doodles.

I started by making 6 note cards finished size 8.5cm x 6cm to match some small envelopes I had on hand. I think these fall into the cute category just by their size.

IMG_5342 (436x640)

I stamped images from Jane’s Doodles Doodle Flowers II and Flying High using various inks from SU and PTI along with Versafine onyx black. I paper pierced the kite using scraps of SU patterned paper.

As promised here are some pics of my jumper

Debbie Bliss - Drops 123-3 close up of yoke (640x478)

and

Debbie Bliss - Drops 123-3 (539x640)

I am using Drops 123-3 knitted with Debbie Bliss Cotton yarn. This is knitted in the round so all I have left are the sleeves. I have not knitted sleeves in the round before. I have started meeting with some other crafty ladies at my local library I am enjoying looking at everyone’s projects. This week there were several ladies working on applique for their quilts, lots of knitters and one lady making envelopes. I finished off two more poppies either scroll down or here https://frommycraftroom.wordpress.com/2014/09/08/a-little-update/

I am hoping to find some crafty time in the school holidays which start here tomorrow. Optimistic as I have bought home 2 boxes of work from the office.  I have also found pinterest in the last week.  Still learning how to get around and pin things.  If you have any handy hints or tips I would love to know.

Cheers
