A challenge or two…

Hello

We are part way through the school holidays here.  Boy a week flies by so quickly.  Pity only another week before we are all back to our routines and sports.  Ms E and Mr M are still at uni though while Ms S and Ms A are home along with hubby.  When Ms E went to uni in Geelong yesterday the girls and I tagged along for a day trip to the arts and craft shops down there.  There are a few art supply shops within working distance of each other not to mention a Kaiser outlet on the drive into town from Uni.  I was rather restrained and only purchased 3 items not on my list!  Although I did top up Ms A’s craft stash.

Here are a couple of cards I have made.

no toppings for me this time

me up and away

I have used ME up and away and co ordinating dies coloured with alcohol markers.  The sponging and background cardstock are SU dapper denium. I used a piece of card board cut out as a stencil for my clouds.  The sentiment is from Papersmoches Hullabalo.

While I had the sponges out I created this card with PTI Tremendous treats

I needed a new book mark for book club so I created this one by colouring my stamp block with markers and stamping into the ink before stamping onto my paper.  By doing this I got a few variations of colour on each stamped image to replicate “fall” or autumn as we call it here in Australia.  I used images from SU Thoughtful branches and Jane’s Doodles Read all about it.  Even though I used greens, browns and orange markers the orange markers look pink in the photo above.  Trust me they are orange!

I have also began work on a HST quilt top. Will share that another day.

Until next time

Thanks for stopping

Cheers

The inks I have used are SU Cherry Cobbler, SU Baked Brown Sugar, SU Always Artichoke and Memento Tuxedo black. The stamp sets used are IBS Build a stocking, IBS Holiday Ornaments, IBS Sugar & Spice and SU Holiday Home. The tags are finished with SU cherry cobbler tulle ribbon.

Book club xmas 2014

Book labels, book mark made using Jane’s Doodles stamp sets see post here and some Christmas tags. The box is an adaption from Sam’s at Pootles here. Thank you. I used some SU patterned paper (Be of good cheer).

Last night my friend and I crafted from 8 pm – 1 am making paper Santas – 12 for her and nearly 30 for me. This took a little longer than I thought but it was nice to chat and craft at a leisurely pace.  I will share some pics later in the week when the Santas get their arms and legs!

Thanks for stopping

Book labels with Jane’s Doodles…

Hello

Hope you had a great weekend.

I had the Melbourne Zoo Birthday Party with my girls and Ms 14’s boyfriend. Mr 16 had his girl friend’s Debutante Ball.

Anyway I also had a little time to play.

I had wanted to make some more book labels for my book club friends. These will be gifts. I know from now till the end of the year is pretty busy in our house with lots of birthdays, dance concert, school stuff and other bits and pieces that happen that I wanted to get something under way now.

I have used a few different sets to make these up.

The one set which is consistent is Jane’s Doodles Read all about it – for the words – “This book belongs to: “. I have also used Janes’s Doodles Doodle Flowers II and Raindrops along with PTI Happy Hexagons, Uniko Background Builders Vines and Kaszazz Stitched Borders.  I have used both water based and alcohol based markers and inks from SU and PTI along with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. All labels are stamped onto SU Whisper white cs 5 cm x 9 cm. To adhere to the inside covers I have attached pieces of double sided tape to the back which can be removed when adding to books.  I was trying to link stamps to books we have read for example we recently read The Language of Flowers – Vanessa Diffenbaugh.

This wouldn’t be complete with out a new book mark

I used Jane’s Doodles Flying High along with Read all about it and the book mark top is made using SU scallop tag punch and finished with ribbons.

I also made this at the weekend

I used CWA lemon butter recipe. It made 2 jars this size. Mr M (16) just asked when I was going to make more – yep it’s all gone!

We made dozen lemon tarts with pastry cases and lemon butter filling the rest we ate on ice cream, in yogurt and on toast/muffins.

Summer fun at Jane’s Doodles…

Happy Friday

Lots of pics to share today.

First

Muse Challenge #80

Therese inspired me to make this.

Jane's Doodles Doodle flowers II (640x427)

which I am also linking up to the challenge at Jane’s Doodles – Summer Themed Card – A little out of the box for Summer – Summer Flowers?

♥and another pic

Jane's Doodles - Doodle Flowers II (497x640)

I used Jane’s Doodles Doodle Flower II inked with PTI, SU and memento tuexedo black inks. I used an aqua pen for the leaves.  The card front and sentiment are popped up with foam tabs. I used grey for the outline over the pink – it is a little hard to see in the pics.

I had intended to link these little book labels up to the challenge at Jane’s Doodles – but realised the challenge was for a card.

One of the things I usually do over summer is read.

Jane's Doodles Read all about it - book stacks (640x484)

and

Jane's Doodles - Read all about it - I love books (640x502)

and

Jane's Doodles - Read all about it - I love books speech bubble (640x509)

and

Jane's Doodles Read all about it (640x506)

I used Jane’s Doodles Read All about and Flying High (the sun). I stamped onto SU Whisper white cardstock 5cm x 9cm each with various inks and others coloured with alcohol markers. I also sponged a few with ink and sponge tool.

The back of the label has a small amount of double sided tape which will make adhering to the inside of a book easy.

I intend to use this set a lot to make labels for books – hopefully they will find their way home that way. I think my book club friends would like a little set each.

Little Miss A (9) is trying out for the school athletics team so I’m off to watch.

Have a great weekend

Thanks for stopping to visit.

Cheers
