Starry….

Hello

For those who celebrate the festive season are you madly running around ticking things off your list?  I am.  I have a big shopping day planned for my day off this week with 3 of my kiddos just to tick those last minute gifts off my list.

Today I am sharing my DT Card for the current challenge at Unstampabelles here

Challenge #96

Star Struck Starry Night

TWIST Use Sparkle Pens and/or Glues

(or make it sparkly!)

Now I have opted for a non-Christmas themed starry card.  A little cluster of sparkly stars like you might see in the milky way at night.

The guidelines from Ms E were gold and sparkly. I have ticked that box.  I used stitched circle dies, an Alpha die, a few star punches and dies all cut with gold foil or gold glitter paper.  I popped the letter “K” (for the recipients name!) up with foam tabs. A nice clean and simple personalised birthday card.

So if you still have a few last minute cards or tags to make or a birthday card (I find stars great for male cards) you still have time to join in our current challenge at Unstampabelles.  Hope to see your creations in the linky.

Thanks for stopping

Cheers

Another Challenge another 21st…

Hello

I am back today with my DT card for the new challenge at Unstampabelles here.

#62 Outside Your Comfort Zone Twist: a different edge

Unstampabelles Challenges

The prize is

Certainly each and every project for Unstampabelles pushes me outside my comfort zone.  This is the purpose of challenges right.

I created a subtle edge by using ME Basic die set.  I also used the stitched die on the black mount which is a little tricky to see in the pic.

The die cut sentiments are from Stamplorations and PTI.  The pattern paper is from SU as is the gold glitter tape behind the die cuts.

This happened to also fit with a request from Ms E for another 21st birthday which was black, white and gold. So of course a matching gift bag was added using my gift bag punch board.

Hope you have time to join in.

July Scrapbook Boutique challenge…

Hello

How time gets away.

Thanks for stopping today.

Today’s card I am linking up to the current challenge at Scrapbook Boutique here

And here is my card

SBB July 2015 4 (534x640)

I started by stamping Kaisercraft lace stamp using PTI aqua mist ink onto my cardstock. I stamped the images from Mama Elephant Up and Away in memento tuxedo black ink onto blending cardstock before colouring with various alcohol markers and cutting out with the co ordinating dies. Before I fixed the die cut images to the card front I added small flowers from the set in SU pink piroutte ink. I used the Mama Elephant stitched die from the basic set I ran it through a second time to make my rectangle smaller. Before adhering I added a small piece of SU Mint macaron dotted lace trim. The sentiment from Inspired be stamping small fancy labels 1 is stamped in SU smoky slate ink and punched using the designer label punch.

Hope you have a great weekend planned.

Cheers

Uniko Flower power…

Hello

Today I am sharing a card I have made using Uniko Flower Power #6 & #7 combined with at sentiment from SSS.

I am linking up to the current challenges at

and

Here is my card

Uniko flower power (640x456)

I used the two Uniko sets with SU inks in Soft Sky, Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery and So Saffron.  I stamped the full images than the outline in a slightly darker ink mostly off centre. When complete I stamped the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp It’s your birthday stamp set in memento tuxedo black ink. I mounted onto Pink Pirouette cardstock and attached to my card front. I card for my stash.

I also have a few tags I made using Uniko Flower Power and Mama Elephant stitched tag die from the basic set.

I used sentiments from Uniko Flower power #2 along with images from Flower Power #1 and #5 and Background Builders Flower Power.

This tag used background builders stamped with Bermuda Bay ink 3 times

tag 1 (640x479)

This tag used image from Flower Power #5 stamped with SU Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil delight ink

tag 3 (640x389)

The last tag used SU Night of Navy and Real Red ink and an image from Flower Power #1

tag 2 (640x340)

These were all fairly quick. As it is school holidays I have been a little busy with Museum, Scienceworks and zoo trips plus having the children’s friends over. It is a different type of busy to the normal school term which starts back on Monday.

I hope to share some more soon. The 3 girls have gone out with their Dad and Mr 17 is studying so that means I get a little uninterrupted play time with some new toys.

Cheers

And here is my card

Uniko nautical treasures (640x459)

I created my own patterned paper using Uniko Nautical Treasures in SU River Rock and Smoky Slate inks. The main image from Uniko Nautical Treasures is stamped with SU Smoky slate ink. I mounted with SU night of navy cardstock. I used Mama Elephant Sew Fancy Dies to create waves, pattern beside the main image and the stitching around the sentiment panel. I also used Inspired by Stamping Fancy Label dies 3 and a 2″ circle punch for the sentiment panel. The sentiment is from PTI Star prints stamped in SU night of Navy ink. The sentiment panel was attached to some double sided adhesive paper I have had for ages and attached to some fun foam to give dimension. The twine is from Annabelle Stamps.

A little navy and yellow .

GRAB OUR BADGE

A few of the DT at SBB used Teresa Collins Everyday Moments paper. Knowing I had some hoarded saved I have used a little of it here.

ME Waterblooms (527x640)

I stamped Mama Elephant Water blooms with SU Daffodil Delight ink onto my white card stock and die cut with my brand new NBUS stitched tag from Mama Elephant Basic Set. I also cut one from my patterned paper. The yellow patterned paper is also cut with a stitched die from the same set. I stamped the sentiment from (NBUS) Mama Elephant Up and Away in SU Night of Navy ink. I punched a hole and threaded some ribbon through and tied with twine. As a finishing touch I added a few sequins from my stash.

Now in all fairness it took me a few tries to get this together. First I tried heat embossing gold to find I was trying to emboss glitter! After blowing gold glitter all over the floor No 1 in the bin. Second attempt used the gold embossing powder and was not happy with the results. Bin again. Third and fourth attempts uneven stamping – yep the bin again. By now I was a little determined. So my card now complete has my Fifth and final attempt at getting an image.

Before I go I want to share this quilt I finished recently

black and yellow 1 (640x564)

I had a jelly roll I purchased a while ago in my fabric stash and added the yellow and cream stripes of the same width. I layed the pieces out until I was happy with the colour flow, stitched the rows together and then proceeded to complete with 50/50 cotton&bamboo batting.

I used a yellow fabric on the back which has a circle pattern along with the black stripe for interest and to get the width of the fabric needed to back the quilt.

black and yellow back (626x640)

I quilted in the ditch along the horizontal lines only. I finished the quilt with black binding.

The finished size is 132cm x 144cm
