Fishy Fun…

Hello

School holidays are over which means getting back into our routine.

Ms 19 is on swot vac and Mr 17 only has a few weeks of year 12 before exams start. Ms 15 & 10 are doing their own things – mostly bugging each other!

Anyway Ms 19 has put in a request for 4 cards by the end of October. She has been through my stamp sets and picked images and given me a few colour suggestions. So today I have the first one to share with you

As the recipient is a swimmer and has the nickname “fish” the obvious choice was a fish!

The fish image is from Market street stamps Ocean fun and also sea animals. I stamped a mirror image using the back of a larger stamp, the fin detail didn’t stamp with the mirror but that is ok it makes the image a little different.

market street stamps

I coloured the images with alcohol markers.  I layered onto various blue toned cardstock. The background on the card base was made by using SU happy patterns stencil and night of navy ink and sprayed with green ink which I found in a spray bottle (not sure what colour I have in there other than it is green!). The sentiment is from SU Crazy about you. For finishing touches I added glossy accents, wink of stella, kindy glitz and sequins.

I even managed to get a pic of the glitter.

July Scrapbook Boutique challenge…

Hello

How time gets away.

Thanks for stopping today.

Today’s card I am linking up to the current challenge at Scrapbook Boutique here

And here is my card

SBB July 2015 4 (534x640)

I started by stamping Kaisercraft lace stamp using PTI aqua mist ink onto my cardstock. I stamped the images from Mama Elephant Up and Away in memento tuxedo black ink onto blending cardstock before colouring with various alcohol markers and cutting out with the co ordinating dies. Before I fixed the die cut images to the card front I added small flowers from the set in SU pink piroutte ink. I used the Mama Elephant stitched die from the basic set I ran it through a second time to make my rectangle smaller. Before adhering I added a small piece of SU Mint macaron dotted lace trim. The sentiment from Inspired be stamping small fancy labels 1 is stamped in SU smoky slate ink and punched using the designer label punch.

Hope you have a great weekend planned.

Cheers

Pretty Peonies and Anemones from Jane’s Doodles…

Hello

As I had hoped I got a little uninterrupted crafty time yesterday. So I was able to get out a watercolour set I have had for a few months. So I have now given them a warm welcome.

Sorry lots of pics today.

Today’s card(s) I am linking to the following challenges.

The Paper Players #252 – The Great Outdoors here

and

Get Creative Challenges #18 – must include flowers here

and

I took my colour inspiration from this website/advertising pic I found here

Jane's Doodles anemone (640x448)

I used Jane’s Doodles Anemone for this card. I used a mask and stamped the image multiple times with Memento tuxedo black before colouring with Royal Langnickel watercolour set.

and

jane's doodles anemone 3 (640x397)

This set of 2 cards I again masked and coloured. The sentiment is from Jane’s Doodles Doodle Flowers II.

and

jane's doodles pretty peonies 2 (503x640)

This card I did a little different I swooshed around some colour before I stamped my images from Jane’s Doodles Pretty Peonies, Anemone and Doodle Flowers II. I think I like this result better as the black stamping is on top.

and

Jane's doodles pretty peonies (506x640)

For this card I watercoloured my paper in blocks and then stamped. I finished this card with a few clear sequins.

These two final cards I am linking to the challenge at

Freshly Made Sketches #194 here

stamplorations about a rose (640x412)

For these cards I watercoloured an area first before stamping the image from Stamplorations About a rose in memento tuxedo black ink. The sentiment is from Jane’s Doodles Pretty Peonies finished with a line drawn with a fineliner. The card on the left I also added a few clear sequins.

Thanks for making it all the way to here! I have managed to ink up a few NBUS sets, use a piece or two of card stock from my stash and get my watercolours wet.

Cheers

Uniko Flower power…

Hello

Today I am sharing a card I have made using Uniko Flower Power #6 & #7 combined with at sentiment from SSS.

I am linking up to the current challenges at

Virginia’s View here

and

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #4 here

AT Inspiration Challenge 4

and

Loves Rubber Stamps challenge #159 here

Loves Rubberstamps Blog Challenges

Here is my card

Uniko flower power (640x456)

I used the two Uniko sets with SU inks in Soft Sky, Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery and So Saffron.  I stamped the full images than the outline in a slightly darker ink mostly off centre. When complete I stamped the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp It’s your birthday stamp set in memento tuxedo black ink. I mounted onto Pink Pirouette cardstock and attached to my card front. I card for my stash.

I also have a few tags I made using Uniko Flower Power and Mama Elephant stitched tag die from the basic set.

I used sentiments from Uniko Flower power #2 along with images from Flower Power #1 and #5 and Background Builders Flower Power.

This tag used background builders stamped with Bermuda Bay ink 3 times

tag 1 (640x479)

This tag used image from Flower Power #5 stamped with SU Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil delight ink

tag 3 (640x389)

The last tag used SU Night of Navy and Real Red ink and an image from Flower Power #1

tag 2 (640x340)

These were all fairly quick. As it is school holidays I have been a little busy with Museum, Scienceworks and zoo trips plus having the children’s friends over. It is a different type of busy to the normal school term which starts back on Monday.

I hope to share some more soon. The 3 girls have gone out with their Dad and Mr 17 is studying so that means I get a little uninterrupted play time with some new toys.

Cheers

Jane’s Doodles Garden Friends + Jungle Baby…

Hello

I really have no excuse for my lack of posts. I have been creating trying to use new things before I put them away. It is great idea in theory however I seem to have fallen behind.

Today I am sharing cards I made using Jane’s Doodles Garden Friends and Jungle Baby along with sentiments from Inspired by stamping Celebrating 2 years.

challenge_graphic-June-650

And as my cards involve a bit of colouring I thought I would link them up to Kathy’s blog here

Jane's Doodles - Garden Friends & Jungle baby (640x525)

I started by stamping 6 different images from Garden Friends and Jungle Baby on Xpress it blending cardstock. I coloured these with various alcohol markers over several days/nights whenever I got a few minutes. I then mounted each one onto coloured cardstock and attached to my card fronts. The sentiments from Celebrating 2 years and Jungle Baby were then stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Thanks for stopping

Until next time

Cheers

Just hatched and more English Country Garden…

Hello

I’m back as planned.

Ms E’s manager is leaving the store to go to another store. She asked me to make her a Good bye/Good luck card.  As it has “wings” I am linking up to the current challenge at Uniko Studios here.

Grab button for Uniko Studio Challenge

Here is my card.

Good luck

I used Uniko English Country Garden stamped onto vellum and coloured with Tim Holtz and SU markers. The die cut strip is from Kaisercraft film strip. The sentiment is from PTI Mega Mixed Messages stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

The second card I have to share is also for Ms E’s manager. She is also expecting her first baby later in the year and as Ms E is unlikely to see her she wanted to gift her a little something. This also has “wings”.

IMG_6812 (640x639)

I made the card base using Lifestyle Crafts Peppermint Page die (8cm x 8.5cm). The image from ME Just hatched is stamped onto x press it blending cardstock and coloured with alcohol markers. The sentiment if from the same set stamped in versafine onyx black ink. The co ordinating dies were used to cut the egg.

IMG_6809 (640x427)

To go with this I knitted up a little pair of shoes using Patons Big Baby 4ply yarn and the garter stitch bootees pattern which came with the pack.  Sorry  I couldn’t find a link anywhere on the web!

Wonderful…

Hello

Time has a habit of getting away from me!

The children are back at school/uni, I’m back at work and Hubby is back from his work trip but we haven’t sat to look at all the pics yet. There was only one sick with travel sickness out of the group of 18 students. They visited France (Paris, Versailles, Somme & Framelle), Belgium, the Netherlands (Amsterdam), Germany (Berlin) and Turkey (Istanbul & Gallipoli).

Anyway it has taken me a couple of days to get today’s card together. I was determined to have something creative to share this week.

I am linking up to the current challenge at Scrapbook Boutique here

Doesn’t this cake look yummy

Here is my card

IMG_6806 (640x427)

I started by stamping my Penny Black wonderful image in Memento tuxedo black ink onto xpress it blending card stock. I coloured with various alcohol markers from Kaisercrsaft & Stampin Up. I layered my image onto Lifestyle crafts nesting lace squares cut from purple cardstock (unknown from scrap pile). This was then layered on to the card front. The ribbon is from my stash I added a sentiment from PTI tiny tags stamped with MFT Grapescicle ink and SU Perfect plum marker and die cut with co ordinating die. The flowers are punched from SU Itty Bitty accents and pushed down in the centre so the petals pop up, then finished with a spot of liquid pearls. I also added a little wink of stella to the centre of the stamped flowers which doesn’t show in my photography.

Here is another pic

IMG_6805 (640x633)

I also have a finished quilt to share

IMG_6807 (471x640)

This is a disappearing nine patch quilt. The fabrics were from the same range. The sashing/border is a different fabric and is also used for the backing fabric. The batting is a 50/50 bamboo and cotton. I was happier with my basting of this quilt than I was of the last one I completed see this post here. I did use some basting spray this time as well as pinning a lot more. I used my treadle sewing machine to complete the quilting in the ditch.  Hubby now has a couple to choose from to gift.

Thanks for stopping

IMG_6752 (484x640)

Happy Valentines…

Happy Valentines Day

IBSIC90---Hearts

Jan IBSIC90

Mr 17 made this card for his girlfriend (with a little help) and it matches perfectly the Inspired by Stamping Challenge.

IMG_6740 (640x612)

We used PTI Heart Prints stamped in memento tuxedo black and co ordinating die along with SU Good Greetings, Real red ink and real red cardstock all on a pre made base.

Before I go I have a couple of other pics to share.

Ms 10 has 2 parties today. One this morning and a sleep over party that she is at now.

We added these to the girls’ presents.

We used Kaisercraft alphabet die, SU Butterflies thinlits die and PTI Littly lady stamp set for the trail. We also added glossy accents to the letters. The notebooks are from a stationery shop.

IMG_6738 (477x640)

IMG_6736 (489x640)

A little decorated gift bag. Some washi tape and flowers made with packaging cut with scallop circle and scrunched up.

IMG_6737 (534x640)

The final pics are thanks to Therese’s post here

I had some quilters template plastic lying around so I made one A6 and one for 12.5 cm x 12.5 cm card.

IMG_6741 (640x586)

IMG_6742 (551x640)

Now I should be set.

Thanks for hanging in to the end.

Pajama Party…

Hello

Hope your week is going well.

There is a Pajama Party on at Waltzing Mouse Stamps

I took this sketch and flipped it so the circles are on the right side of the image

I am also linking to  the challenge at Muse

Muse Challenge #89

This is an attempt for me to use some of the patterned paper I have collected.

Thank you Therese for the inspiration.

Before I started I consulted Ms 9 on which image she liked best and colours to use.

IMG_5530 (640x319)

She chose the elephant from WMS Half Pint Heroines which I stamped onto blending cs with memento tuxedo black and coloured with alcohol markers.  I chose some patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket Mini deck Baby Jane to create the card front and banners. I added SU Pool Party ribbon. The sentiment chosen by Ms 9 is from the same set again stamped with memento tuxedo black and popped up with foam tabs. I used a 1 1/4″ circle punch and layered into on Artisan label punch. The banners are a mix of free hand cut and the SU Banner punch. After playing with buttons and paper flowers I settled on hearts punched from the patterned paper with SU itty Bitty Accents heart punch and finished with some glossy accents.

IMG_5529 (640x463)

Today I’ve booked tickets to the girl’s dance concert in November then I joined a relatively new group of friends at the local library for 2 hours of crafty time. These ladies are so inspiring. I am in awe of one lady who is 95 hand stitches beautifully, doesn’t wear glasses and is more mobile than some half her age.  I wish she would share her secret 🙂  We come together in the middle of the library for 2 hours (or whatever we can spare) and do a crafty project with a cuppa and a chat. Some are making hand stitched quilts, one lady makes envelopes freehand, some crochet and some knit. Today I started a doll from Knitted Babes – Claire Garland. Here is a link to the ravelry page

 http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/sources/knitted-babes-five-dolls–their-wardrobes/patterns

Some have been creating for a long time others are new and come to learn.  Miss 9 had so much fun coming with me in the recent school holidays I have to take her crafty projects for show and tell so the group can see what she has been creating.

Until next time

Thanks for stopping by

Cheers
