Challenge#80: Flowers and more flowers
TWIST Bling it up! here
Remember there is a prize
I have tried to bling up my floral cards.
In a fruitless attempt to make a dent in my pattern paper I have used 2 pieces to create 2 cards.  I blinged them up with sequins, gold foil paper and glittery die cuts.
Some pretty pattern paper from Inspired by Stamping along with gold foil die cut sentiment from Elizabeth craft designs and a few sequins.  Today would have been my Gran’s birthday.  I think she would have liked this card.  She loved her flowers and butterflies (there is one in the top corner).

This one uses some vintage paper from MME Miss Caroline 6×6 paper pad.  There is a sentiment on the paper “start everyday with a smile”.  I added die cut flower and leaves (freeby with a magazine) and sequins.  I added kindy glitz first but wasn’t overally happy with the result so glued sequins on top!

Hope you find some time to join the challenge I’m sure you have some flowers and bling in your stash!

Until next time

Cheers

Twisted Tuesday – Anything Goes

I started with an image from Flourishes Spring Blossoms and coloured with alcohol markers. I hand cut into a tag shape, rounded the bottom corners and mounted onto some American Crafts cardstock. I popped this up with foam tape and layered this onto my card front with MME Miss Caroline 6×6 paper. I used an american crafts border punch along the top.  I used some ribbon to form a bow and added a button from my stash with some natural twine. The sentiment is from Inspired by Stampin Big Wishes. I finished off with some wink of stella on the flowers.

Before I go just a pic of my eldest before her graduation dinner last week.

She had her first year 12 exam today – 6 more to go!

She has 7 in total as the maths exams are split into 2.

Note: I cropped her head out of the pic because I haven’t asked her if she minds if I share!

Thanks for stopping

Marie Antoinette…

These cupcakes look so yummy! They are the inspiration at Scrapbook Boutique this month.

I am linking this card upto the challenge.

I have used Kraftin’ Kimmie Marie Antoinette stamp stamped in memento tuxedo black and coloured with alcohol markers (Spectrum Noir & Kaiserfusion).  I used My Mind’s Eye Miss Caroline patterned paper and SU So Saffron cardstock in my card front layers. The button is from my stash threaded with a little twine from the Rusty Rose.

A little follow up on the Cancer Fund Raiser…

The Pink Ribbon Cancer Fund raiser yesterday was wonderful. It was a High Tea style luncheon with lots of yummy treats like the ones above – I skipped dinner last night I had eaten so much!  The girls who did the baking did a fabulous job. We also had a guest speaker for the first time – a breast care nurse – which was very informative.  Every lady received a necklace made by Cambodian orphans (my friend also supports a Cambodian Orphanage) along with the cards that I had made. The necklaces are pink with a ribbon shape hand made by the boys from coconut shells.  The boys made them on a recent trip she had to help establish a library at the orphanage.   The ladies raised money by having the entry fee, raffle prizes, buy a present and a guessing game (guess how many pink jelly beans in the lolly jar).

Enjoy your weekend

Thanks for taking a peek

Pinwheel challenge at Embellish Magazine and The Greeting Farm Fresh Friday

Hi. Hope everyone’s day has got off to a great start. Student free day so have my youngest home today plus I am expecting some tradesmen any time now! We all know how predictable tradies are right?

Anyway I have two cards to share today.

Splendid Stamping with The Greeting Farm

http://splendidstamping.blogspot.com.au/2012/08/farm-fresh-friday-paper-piecing.html

The first is for The Greeting Farm Fresh Friday Challenge Paper Piercing. This is a technique I only tried a little while ago and I am enjoying it.

I have used The Greeting Farm Miss Anya Collection along with sentiment from PTI Train Tracks. I used Twine from SU, cardstock from American Crafts and Pebbles. A Fiskars border punch and tag die from life style crafts. This card is for a 13 year old girl I think she came up alright.

http://embellishmagazine.com/blog/2012/08/pinwheel-color-trends-challenge/

The second card is a first for me. This is the first pinwheel I have ever made. I was surprised at how easy it was. I used DSP from MME Miss Caroline for the pinwheel and a brad from my stash along with a tooth pick for the handle. I used PTI Tiny Tags and die stamped with SU Regal Rose and Soft Suede tied with Blossom twine from the The Twinery. The other cardstock is also from my stash. I punched out butterflies from kraft cardstock using carl and armada punches. Finished off with some rhinestones and hand drawn butterfly trials.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers
