A significant birthday…

Hello

Recently we went to a significant birthday party for a friend of ours.  When someone at the party asked me how long I had known the birthday girl I was a little shocked that it is close to 30 years. Boy time flys.

Here is the card I made

I used my SU letters for the birthday girl’s name along with  cookie cutter punch, owl punch, fox punch and Papersmooches Hullabalo to make my “Liz”.  I used an embossing folder to create the background and my sentiment is from Cool treats.

The birthday girl is a great athelete competing in iron women events, various runs/marathons and stair runs (running up stair wells of very tall buildings). We meet when my hubby was competing in triathalons.  After so long mixing with these fit people it hasn’t rubbed off on me!

Hopefully you can see my idea of a water sport themed card.

I am linking this up to the challenge at Seize the Birthday here one layer – no toppings this time for me.

Thanks for stopping

Cheers

A challenge or two…

Hello

We are part way through the school holidays here.  Boy a week flies by so quickly.  Pity only another week before we are all back to our routines and sports.  Ms E and Mr M are still at uni though while Ms S and Ms A are home along with hubby.  When Ms E went to uni in Geelong yesterday the girls and I tagged along for a day trip to the arts and craft shops down there.  There are a few art supply shops within working distance of each other not to mention a Kaiser outlet on the drive into town from Uni.  I was rather restrained and only purchased 3 items not on my list!  Although I did top up Ms A’s craft stash.

Here are a couple of cards I have made.

me up and away

I have used ME up and away and co ordinating dies coloured with alcohol markers.  The sponging and background cardstock are SU dapper denium. I used a piece of card board cut out as a stencil for my clouds.  The sentiment is from Papersmoches Hullabalo.

While I had the sponges out I created this card with PTI Tremendous treats

I needed a new book mark for book club so I created this one by colouring my stamp block with markers and stamping into the ink before stamping onto my paper.  By doing this I got a few variations of colour on each stamped image to replicate “fall” or autumn as we call it here in Australia.  I used images from SU Thoughtful branches and Jane’s Doodles Read all about it.  Even though I used greens, browns and orange markers the orange markers look pink in the photo above.  Trust me they are orange!

I have also began work on a HST quilt top. Will share that another day.

Until next time

What a hoot…

I am joining in at Papersmooches Sparks Challenge – a sketch challenge

I have made this card for a friend of Miss S (13) . The birthday girl likes owls and cupcakes. So I have used Papersmooches Geographic for the background stamped using Stampin UP! tempting turquoise onto American Crafts Powder cardstock which was mounted onto brown cardstock. The main images are from Papersmooches Chubby Chums and Hullabaloo coloured with alcohol markers and finished with glossy accents and clear wink of stella glitter brush. The sentiment panel was die cut using Die namics greeting frame and stamped in versafine onyx black ink with a sentiment from Papersmooches Digits stamp set. The ribbon threaded through the greeting is from my stash. Got the approval of Miss S – and she kept an eye on the progress!

Enjoy what is left of your weekend

Cheers

Celebrate…

Happy Monday.

We have a few birthdays coming up.  Think this will be handy to have in my card stash.

I have used Papersmooches Geo-Graphic stamped using PTI Dark Chocolate and SU Sahara Sand cut into a banner with some scraps from my stash. I stamped the sentiment from Papersmooches Birthday Sampler and then stamped the balloons from Papersmooches Hullabaloo using SU Rose Red and Daffodil Delight. I then added some glossy accents to the balloons. This mornings sun made them shine in the picture.

A gift for you…

Hi.

I got some new (for me) Paper smooches stamp sets recently. I have a couple of teenage birthdays this month so this will come in handy.

????????????????????????

I have used Paper smooches Hullabaloo and Birthday Sampler to make this card. I stamped my images on to red cardstock and then cut them out. I stamped my ribbons and balloon ties directly to my white cardstock and fixed my red images to that with a glue pen. I layered this with some black cardstock and fixed to my card front after I had stamped my sentiment.

I am linking this up to the following challenges

Must get a move on. I have reports to write today and email.

Happy Monday.

Thanks for stopping.
