Lady in red…

Hello

How has your week been? Mine has been a bit of a whirl wind.  It has been full up with meetings, after school activities, work and general family stuff.  And a first world problem.  Now before you read any further you can skip my rant and head to the pretty pictures if you like  – I wont know! Yesterday afternoon the plan was to pick up my delivery from the parcel locker on the way home from work, pick up Ms A from school, head to major shopping centre to pick up Mr M (18 – this trip would be unnecessary if he would get his driver’s licence!) then head to Ms S’s school to pick her up from an after school SAC all by 5 pm!. This was doable and planned so there was no doubling back and Ms S could be home as quick as possible because she has a charity event today that started at 3.30 am. So what was the issue? My phone. It was working fine at the parcel locker.  Went to call Mr M enroute to shopping centre to arrange pick up – phone would not connect to the car. Small issue I thought I’ll ring when I stop driving.  No phone just a black screen.  Head into shopping centre breaking with the original plan, my aim to find a public telephone.  We don’t have those anymore do we. A little annoying! 😦 The lovely cleaners directed me to the service desk where the helpful staff let me use the phone and offered to put his name over the PA system.  He answered on the 3rd call!  I was going to take them up on the PA offer, even if he would’ve been mortified.   When I eventually got home what the stories were? Yes Ms S had finished 40 minutes early and had been messaging and phoning me whilst waiting and Ms E had finished Uni early and had been calling to offer to help pick up.   We tried for a while to get the phone working – no luck. How much do I now rely on a mobile phone to help organise my family.   You can guess I will be heading out soon to look at getting a new one!

If you have read my venting – thank you. Now onto some nicer things.

I finally found a little time to finish this red jumper for Ms A (11).

She has a little growing room.  I’m not sure she will wear it much this year – I’m hoping for warmer days,  but next year it will fit perfectly!

IMG_7432 (303x640)

This is made using BWM bold bamboo in rouge.  I used the Step Hem Jumper pattern from Patons Women’s Merino Collection.

I also finished a dog’s coat for the lost dog’s home

IMG_7436 (640x222)

This will be heading in tomorrow with these I shared last week.

dog jackets for lost dogs home mine and Margarets. (478x640)

I also made this little thank you for Margaret as she knitted the 4 aqua dog coats.

IMG_7420 (640x366)

I used some twine! The sentiment is from PTI mega Mixed Messages stamped in SU Dapper Denium.

As usual I have a request or two from my kiddos so it wont be long before I’m back to share.

Until then

Cheers

A Minion…

Hello

Another busy week

During the week Mr M’s girlfriend had a birthday

A handmade minion and card were requested.  Mr M helped with the minion by sewing on the buttons and fixing the eyes – yes they are different colours just the way he wanted it.

I CASed this card from Kelly Kent

Full card front punch art Minion card - instructions included. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

Here is my version of the card

IMG_7272 (532x640)

I used various circle punches and dies.  The sentiment comes from SU Endless Birthday Wishes.

and the felt Minion

The pattern can be found here. Our version is a little rustic!

and before I go a card I needed earlier in the week

I will link this to the current challenge at the colour tree here

I have only used one of TCTC colours Daffodil Delight – not sure if this is against the challenge rules. If I have not meet the guildelines I’m sure the administrator will exclude my card from the challenge.

Made using SU Awesomely Artistic, PTI mega mixed messages and SU Butterflies Thinlits dies.

The kiddos have a list of cards requested so hopefully I will be back soon with some more to share.

Cheers

Just hatched and more English Country Garden…

Hello

I’m back as planned.

Ms E’s manager is leaving the store to go to another store. She asked me to make her a Good bye/Good luck card.  As it has “wings” I am linking up to the current challenge at Uniko Studios here.

Grab button for Uniko Studio Challenge

Here is my card.

Good luck

I used Uniko English Country Garden stamped onto vellum and coloured with Tim Holtz and SU markers. The die cut strip is from Kaisercraft film strip. The sentiment is from PTI Mega Mixed Messages stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

The second card I have to share is also for Ms E’s manager. She is also expecting her first baby later in the year and as Ms E is unlikely to see her she wanted to gift her a little something. This also has “wings”.

IMG_6812 (640x639)

I made the card base using Lifestyle Crafts Peppermint Page die (8cm x 8.5cm). The image from ME Just hatched is stamped onto x press it blending cardstock and coloured with alcohol markers. The sentiment if from the same set stamped in versafine onyx black ink. The co ordinating dies were used to cut the egg.

To go with this I knitted up a little pair of shoes using Patons Big Baby 4ply yarn and the garter stitch bootees pattern which came with the pack.  Sorry  I couldn’t find a link anywhere on the web!

Hang in There…

I have used the Hero Arts set Playful Animals to make a card for a friend from my first mum’s group – We still call our selves that after 17 years! She is going into have her gal bladder removed on Friday this is after she had surgery two weeks ago to remove a stone that was blocking her liver.

I coloured my images using Tim Holtz markers. I water colour washed (I think that’s how you describe it) the background with Stampin UP! Certainly Celery. One of the sentiments is from the same set whilst the other is from AnnaBelle Stamps Lil Molly’s Flowers.

I am linking this card to the sketch challenge this week at AnnaBelle Stamps.

I also have another friend having back surgery next week and I have made this card for her using the new digi paper from AnnaBelle Stamps as the background. I stamped various get well messages from PTI Mega Mixed Messages, Paper Tray and AnnaBelle stamps Lil Molly’s Flowers. I will link this up to the monthly challenge of stripes at AnnaBelle stamps.

Hope you’re having a great day. I have spent the day with my walking/book club friends celebrating one of the girl’s birthdays (I have a card for that too but will share that in another post). Whilst we were out I got some great news – a job I had an interview for a few weeks ago I have been offered. I will be starting next week. That might mean a few little changes around here – but I am very excited.

Thanks for stopping by

Cheers

CAS(E) #4, A Passion for Papertrey & Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger

I’m not sure how long ago this PTI Star Prints saw some ink – but I think it has been awhile. As for the sentiment from Mega Mixed Messages – that particular sentiment wasn’t inked until I made this card! – The whole point of the Passion for Papertrey challenge was to use something you have bought and not used. I know I have a few!

I am linking this up to

CAS(E) #4 sketch challenge

Passion for Papertrey – unused – unloved – uninked – had to have

http://apassionforpapertrey.wordpress.com/

Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger – Ready for Red.

The patterns on the stars fit nice with the background paper here too.

Hope your having a great weekend – off to do some retail therapy with Miss 7 & Miss 12 before hitting those costumes again.

SC 065/12 + JAI 141

I am linking this card upto two challenges SC 065/12 and JAI 141

and

It is handy to have a sympathy card on hand for when the need arises.

I have used SBB kraft cardstock (similar to SU crumb cake) along with SU Very Vanilla and Wisteria Wonder Card stock – embossed with SU Elegant bouquet. I used SU ink and markers to colour my images before stamping. I used Versafine Onyx black to stamp my sentiment from PTI Mega Mixed Messages onto very vanilla cut with Lifestyle Crafts nesting oval scallop. The border die is from American Crafts Knock outs and the ribbon is seam binding ribbon from Kaszazz.

Miss 7 is all OK – but has stayed home from school today just in case.

Cheers

Sherbies!

Today I have a card I have made for The Lollipop Ladies Challenge #53 – Sherbies + Embossing and the sponser is AnnaBelle Stamps

http://thelollipopladies.blogspot.com.au/2012/09/challenge-53-sherbies_2.html

I have used Scrapbook Boutique Marine Cardstock from Summer Colours Pack along with orange cardstock from my stash to make the Sherbies. Each of the sherbies is stamped with a sentiment using SU Pacific Point Ink. Sentiments from My Cute Stamps Birthday Numbers, PTI Mega Mixed Messages and PTI Tiny Tags. The lolly closures are stamped in Versafine Onyx black from SU Sweet Summer – yes a flower stamp. I have popped two of the sherbies up with foam dots. Before I added the sherbies to my card front I embossed the white card stock with SU Textured Impressions Stripes Embossing Folder and wrapped some WeRMemory Keepers Orange Baker’s twine around the card front.

I think the 13 year old this is destined for will like it.  I’ll have to give some “real” sherbies with her gift.

Predicting a lovely day here in Melbourne today. Yeah!

Have a great day.

Cheers

Vicki

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger

This card to share today.

http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2012/08/tuesday-trigger-pin-therein.html

I was drawn to the shapes in the pincushion and the floral fabrics. I used MME DSP Miss Caroline from Fiddlesticks and Dolled Up and hand cut the shapes. The sentiment was stamped using Versafine Onyx black  from PTI Mega Mixed Messages.

Just want to share before I go a couple of blog hops.

First Paper smooches have a blog hop at the moment showing their new release. They have fab new designs up as a prize. If you have a minute pop over and take a peek.

Good Luck – Uniko and Hero Arts

My eldest daughter has asked me to make a card for the Year 12 students in her class. The card base is an A3 sheet scored in half to make an A4 card. I have used the lovely free digital paper from Uniko – printed the whole set so you may see some more. I also used SU So Saffron cardstock and blue from Scrapbook Boutique Summer colours pack. I also used a carl butterfly punch for the butterflies and added gems to the butterflies. The sentiment is from PTI Mega Mixed Messages stamped using versafine onyx black onto another piece of free digital paper from Uniko.

I followed the Hero Arts sketch for August so I am going to link this there – not sure I fit all the criteria but I’m going to link anyway – as well as at Uniko.

Trust you had a restful weekend. We had one win and one terrible loss in netball – next week are semi finals. Managed a quick trip to the shops to buy clothes for the 14 year old.

Hope your week has started off well.

Thanks for stopping bye.

Cheers

PS Sorry photo not great – had trouble with such a large card!

Jay Gees Nook Challenge JGNC22

This is a challenge over at http://jgsnook.blogspot.com.au/ and I thought I would play along.

I have taken my inspiration from the chevron stripes, floral prints and the texture of the folded fabrics.

I stamped the Chevron stripes from Papersmooches Geo graphic using SU Pumpkin pie ink. I added this to AC sixth avenue cardstock. I die cut a leaf from CC Designs leafy branch using scrap cardstock and a flower from PTI Aqua Mist felt using PTI Beautiful Blooms die. I placed a button from AnnaBelle Stamps in the centre with household twine. I also stamped the sentiment from PTI Mega Mixed Messages in versa fine onyx black. Handy to have a thank you card ready to go don’t you think?

Thanks for dropping by. I have another post a bit later.

Cheers
