Hello
Popping in today to share a few finished projects and some WIP./plans.
Hello
Popping in today to share a quilt I recently finished for a friend.
My friend picked the fabrics from my stash and looked at the pics of my quilts (I keep a quilt diary) and decided on copying this quilt I made for Ms A in 2011 and shared back in 2013 here.
This is the new quilt
The new quilt used fabrics from Emma Jean Jansen, Rilley, Grey Matters and Prima along with others from my stash. The finished size approximately 140 x 105 cm. As I did with the first quilt I quilted around each of the blocks and around the scrappy border. My friend was very happy with the result.
I have since started on another project using old men’s shirts. I have combined the shirt blocks with new white fabric sashing. In the stash I have heaps of blue stripey ones! and want the blocks to be from shirts so to make the white shirts I have go further I am using new fabric for the sashing.
This one is almost ready for basting.
I am considering putting this one on Etsy when I have finished along with a few others I have made recently. Has anyone had experience with Etsy? I’d love some tips. email frommycraftroom at gmail dot com
Thanks for stopping
Cheers
Vicki
Hello
Well we are nearly to the end of the school holidays and I have not been as productive as I would have liked!
I have a long list of projects and I am not ticking them off fast enough! Sound like anyone else?
I have finished these
Perfect fit socks you can find the pattern here
and started this
Been working on this
And a couple of cards for a friend in my knitting group.
I used SU Number of Years stamps and dies.
I have my Easter baskets/boxes to make. On the to do list for today.
For my last birthday a few months back my kiddos gave me 2 close up encounters at Melbourne Zoo. I chose Giraffe and Squirrel Monkey. So yesterday hubby, myself, 4 kiddos + Ms S’s boyfriend all spent the day at the zoo so hubby and I could enjoy the encounters. Yes the kiddos all had to watch from the other side of the fence! You aren’t allowed to pat them just “stand like a tree”. They just sit on your arms nibbling their treats. We did get to give the Giraffe lettuce leaves. You stand on a platform and they come to you to grab the leaves in their long tongues. This was over all too fast!
Hope you all have a lovely Easter (if you celebrate the occasion) and you get a little spoilt with yummy goodies.
Until next time
Cheers
Vicki
I have made this for the challenge – a gift tag using die cut cork stamped using Inspired by Stamping Fancy Circles in PTI white ink. I also used SU scalloped top tag punch, SU Elegant Butterfly punch some unknown cardstock, pearls and ribbon from my stash. Thanks to Michelle for the inspiration here
I also made this gift
The Felt flower is made from die cuts and adhered to both an aligator hair clip and pin. I used buttons to make earrings.
The clutch or hold all is made from some fabric from my stash using Newlook 6723 Pattern.
Miss E is off to a party tonight this is part of the gift along with a few bits and bobs from Typo.
Must also mention she is driving! She got her licence yesterday.
So some driving trips are off my list – no late night pick up from dancing classes and she can do the Netball training run.
Here is a pic of the gift bag finished with a little washi tape.
Before I go a few other projects
I finished this scarf a while ago and forgot to share. I used 2 x 25g balls in a rib pattern.
The yarn is Filatura Di Crosa baby Principessa Merino colour 335.
This is a WIP. I am trying to use up some of my stash of fabric. I have started by cutting 4″ x 4″ squares. Alternating the patterned squares with a white fabric.
Not sure whether to add a white border before attaching the backing fabric (a pink with white spot) or not. What do you think?
Enjoy your weekend
Busy as usual 3 games of netball tomorrow and a basketball grand final.
Thanks for taking a peek
Cheers
Vicki
