Anyone for Chocolate?

Hello

Before I get really into the swing of silly season I have several birthdays to celebrate.

This one is for one of the Walking group/Book club friends.

We have chipped in and bought her a couple of vouchers for a Chocolate tour of Melbourne so of course the only appropriate card would have to look like a block of chocolate.

After a little web searching I pinned a few ideas and this was my inspiration from Frances Byrne.

Chocolate inspired card

Here is my version

chocolate card

I have used Kraft cardstock as my base. The chocolate brown is from stash (brand unknown) layered with 1″ squares, silver paper from my kitchen and spotty Tangerine tango from SU. The sentiment is from SU Hey You stamped in Chocolate chip ink.

I have just arrived back from spending the day eating, drinking and a little window shopping in Fitzroy with the birthday girl and friends. These days are so much fun.

Thanks for stopping

Cheers

Hi There…

Sorry not been a post for awhile.  I have been busy sewing dance costumes and dresses for the girls. Maybe I will share some pics later when I am finished. Any way on with my share for today.

This weeks challenge at the Lollipop Ladies is jubes with the added challenge of vintage.

I have taken my inspiration from the vintage more than the colour from the pic – although I have used a bit of red in the paper and the red pearls.

I have used paper from Grace Taylor “vintage” along with kraft cardstock from SBB. The large flower and lace are from Kaisercraft the smaller flowers I had in my stash. The red pearls are from Bo Bunny. The main image is Flourishes kids at play stamped in PTI Kraft ink with a border punch down one edge.

Dirt Bike Rider…

It is my husband’s nephew’s birthday in a few weeks so I have made this card for him. He is a country boy and likes his dirt bike so this was the perfect stamp for him.

I have used Stamp It Transportation coloured with Spectrum Noir and Kaiskraft Fusion markers on SBB Kraft cardstock. The white highlights were added with a gel pen. I used PTI dark chocolate and a sponging tool to colour the edges before adding to my card front. The Die is Kaszazz Cog die and Lifestyle crafts circle die cut into a scrap of brown card stock. The sentiment is from SU  Express Yourself.

I am linking this upto the monthly challenge at Scrapbook Boutique – I took a little liberty and added a little more colour and made it masculine. Hope you can see my inspiration from the Challenge pic,

With a Flourish or two…

Happy Sunday everyone.

Sharing a couple of cards.

This first card I made using Flourishes Kids at Play and Annabelle Stamps Sentimental Bluebells “Happy Birthday” Sentiment.

IMG_3552

I started this card with a black card front. I cut the patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket Social Club just short of the amount I needed so I could trim and have my two black lines showing through. I then stamped my image using Versa fine Onyx Black on SBB kraft cardstock. I then used my distressing tool to sponge various inks onto my background. The sentiment was stamped onto a die cut scallop which I taped to the side of my image. Before I attached my image to the card front with foam tabs I felt it needed a little brightening up so I added some red cardstock from my scraps stash. I am linnking this upto the following challenges.

My second card uses Flourishes Kids at Play and the sentiment is from Call me also by Flourishes stamped in SU Crumb Cake ink. I have CAS(E) this card from http://flourishes.org/2013/06/focus-on-the-beach-and-more-about-silke/

The button, ribbon, pearls and yellow cardstock are from my stash.

More hearts and …

IMG_3260

I used lots of scraps from my draw – mostly American Crafts I think punched using Carl Heart T punch. I stuck each heart on to SBB Kraft cardstock and added the whole card front to a pre packaged card base. The sentiment is from Market Street Stamps Simple Salutations stamped with Versafine Onyx black cut into a banner and added to Kraft CS. The sentiment was popped up using foam tabs. I stuck two apricot hearts together and pierced 1/16″ holes to make a paper button. I threaded Hemptique Bakers twine through this before adding to the end of the banner.

Miss E (16) picked the sentiment – this card is for her friend who recently completed Year 12. She is leaving Melbourne to study bio medicine in New South Wales – hence the pun.

Have a great weekend.
