Playing with Jane’s Doodles…

Hello

I have used some things from my NBUS stash.  A little embarrassed to say I have had one or two of these for a while!

This first card I am linking up to the first challenge at the Flower Challenge here

We would love you to display our banner !

and

the Challenge at Seize the birthday here

Anything goes with the toppings of leaves (only a few here!).

img_7548-520x640

I have used Jane’s Doodles Flying High, Doodle Flowers II and brand new Birthday wishes.  Inked in SU Lucky Limeade, Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay.

My second card I am linking up to the October  Challenge at Scrapbook Boutique here

I was very inspired by the orange and pink butterflies.

img_7547-487x640

The butterflies are stamped with SU Pumpkin pie & Melon Mambo using Jane’s Doodles Butterflies and Birthday Wishes.  I used SU butterfly punch for the floating butterflies and the ME Pizzaz Pieces dies for the top mount.

Before I go I have a small project Ms S (16) made up for the Yr 12 students in her home room before they left school for their exams.

img_7535-342x640

She used some glass mugs with a straw in the lid filled with various chocolates along with post it notes and pens.  Some would think these are study must haves – I’m sure the dietians would disagree! The little tags were made using PTI birthday tags.  They were a hit some of the girls wouldn’t put them down. Perhaps fear someone would tackle the contains?

I have started making some Christmas cards I will share those another day.

Thanks for stopping

Cheers

A challenge or two…

Hello

We are part way through the school holidays here.  Boy a week flies by so quickly.  Pity only another week before we are all back to our routines and sports.  Ms E and Mr M are still at uni though while Ms S and Ms A are home along with hubby.  When Ms E went to uni in Geelong yesterday the girls and I tagged along for a day trip to the arts and craft shops down there.  There are a few art supply shops within working distance of each other not to mention a Kaiser outlet on the drive into town from Uni.  I was rather restrained and only purchased 3 items not on my list!  Although I did top up Ms A’s craft stash.

Here are a couple of cards I have made.

For the current challenge at Scrapbook Boutique here

and

at Seize the Birthday here

no toppings for me this time

me up and away

I have used ME up and away and co ordinating dies coloured with alcohol markers.  The sponging and background cardstock are SU dapper denium. I used a piece of card board cut out as a stencil for my clouds.  The sentiment is from Papersmoches Hullabalo.

While I had the sponges out I created this card with PTI Tremendous treats

I needed a new book mark for book club so I created this one by colouring my stamp block with markers and stamping into the ink before stamping onto my paper.  By doing this I got a few variations of colour on each stamped image to replicate “fall” or autumn as we call it here in Australia.  I used images from SU Thoughtful branches and Jane’s Doodles Read all about it.  Even though I used greens, browns and orange markers the orange markers look pink in the photo above.  Trust me they are orange!

I have also began work on a HST quilt top. Will share that another day.

Until next time

A bright Thanks…

Hello

Thank you for comments and likes recently.

Glad to see I’m not the only one who relies so much on my phone! The happy news it is all sorted and I didn’t need to get a new one just yet.  A small repair sees things all good again.

Anyway enough waffle.

You stop to see the pictures.

Today I have a “thanks” card for a co worker of my eldest daughter.

I am linking up to Darnell’s NBUS #7 here

my NBUS is the stamplorations die.

I hate to admit I’m pretty sure some of these flower images have never seen ink either.  I can’t be alone in admitting to having loads of images that have never seen inky love. Image result for embarrassed emoji

I will also link up to

As per Ms E’s usual requests there were specific instructions – this time bright with purple and sparkle and to include flowers.  Well I set Ms E the task of finding the flower stamps – um no small feet!  After she narrowed to about 8 sets I then picked from those and allocated each image an ink colour from those she had selected.  I’ve discovered even though I have lots of purple inks I don’t really have a bright purple.  Maybe someone can suggest one for me to add to my crafty wishlist.

Here is the result

IMG_7447 (489x640)

This card is larger than normal – an A4 piece scored in half.

Which stamp sets did I use to make the background? Images from SU Crazy about you, PTI Beautiful Blooms II, Uniko Flower Power #4 (Ms E was very specific that this image had to be used) and ABS Stemmed Flowers (a few images from that set). I started stamping with the largest images on to white cardstock and then worked down to the smallest.  Each flower had their own colour ink.  As I mentioned earlier I lined everything up before starting to stamp.  The smallest flower was inked in 2 colours to fill in the gaps.  The ink colours used are SU Pumpkin pie, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo and Cre8tive purple.  This one of a kind paper was attached to some purple cardstock.  I used a NBUS stamplorations “thanks” die cut in the same purple cs and also from foam to add dimension.  All this finished with some clear sequins and glossy accents on the die cut to cover the sparkle request.

Flowers for Mother’s Day…

Hello

Today I am sharing a Mother’s Day card.

I am linking up to the following challenges

Scrapbook Boutique – April mood board here

and

Spring Flowers // April showers at Eclectic Ellapu here
SBB April 2016 2 (480x640)
I used images from MFT Contemporary Roses, PTI Beautiful Blooms II and ABS Designer Flowers stamped with my colorbox Que inks.  These inks haven’t been used for a while so I was surprised that they were still rather juicy. I also used SU pretty in pink for the roses and Momento Luxe for the sentiment.  The panel was mounted onto pink cardstock and then all added to the card base.  Finished with a little sprinkling of sequins.
While I had out ABS Designer Flowers I made a second card.  Will share that one later.
Thanks for stopping

Today I am sharing a card for one of the upcoming parties we have. I am linking it up to the following challenges (click on the pics to take you to the sites).

and

and here is my card

TCTC feb 2016 (533x640)

A simple card.  I stamped the first balloon from SU Celebrate Today onto whisper white cardstock in night of navy ink.  I added die cut balloons in crushed curry and paper from everyday chic where I coloured a few hearts with hello honey marker. I drew the balloon ribbons with a marker before adding to crushed curry cardstock and adhering the piece to my card front.  The sentiment is from Endless birthday wishes.

Spring Planter Box…

Hello

After my not following the rules for The Colour Tree Challenge I decided to have another go.  I also have no excuses for not having a go at the Spring Planter Box tutorial Bronwyn kindly gave all participants from Challenge #1.

This will be given to a friend who had a birthday last week – late I know but we wont see each other til next week so all OK.

I have used the correct colours this time for the challenge at TCTC #4 here

spring planter box 1 (594x640)

Instead of stamping with the hardwood stamp set I inked up my Sizzix Woodgrain embossing folder with crumb cake ink (an allowable neutral I think) and embossed the pieces.  I also substituted in Sizzlits Little leaves die which I used to make the leaves from Pool Party Cardstock.  I created the flowers on calypso coral and daffodil delight cardstock with calypso coral marker and daffodil delight ink.  I used SU Petite Petals and SU Flower shop stamp sets. I created the little Happy Birthday tag using SU Endless Birthday Wishes stamp set stamped in tip top taupe and die cut with Tag and Labels Framelits on very vanilla cardstock.  The twine is white Baker’s twin.  I die cut the butterflies using Bold Butterflies Framelits.

My new favourite – Number of Years…

Hello

Hope you have a great week and if you’re an Aussie had a great Australia Day.

Today I am sharing my newest favourite stamp set.  I will try to make a card soon using another stamp set.

Anyway my card today I am linking to two challenges

Firstly The Colour Tree Challenge here

and

Seize the Birthday here – sorry no toppings for me this time

This card is for the girl’s ex-dancing teacher.  For many of you you would know my children dance.  All three girls have been doing Jazz and tap for a number of years.  For a couple of years Ms S and Mr M also did hip hop.  The teacher sold her school to another teacher a couple of years ago, but still keeps in touch.  Ms E and Ms S have been asked to perform a dance along with the rest of their group at the teacher’s 60th Birthday party next week.  So of course the girls asked me to make a card.

IMG_7271 (482x640)

I have used SU Number of Years stamp set with gold embossing powder die cut with the co-ordinating die and popped up with fun foam. I stamped other images from the set with black ink, SU Soft Suede ink and mint macaron marker direct to the stamp.   This was placed on the rest of the card front with foam tape. The card base is white with a very vanilla mount and a smaller gold stripe mount from Winter Wonderland paper pack.  I added a piece of mint macaron lace (NBUS) before attaching the mounts to the card base.  I had to add some gold sequins from my stash for two reasons 1. I felt the card needed a little more bling! and 2. In recognition of all the sequin fabric we have had over the years!

Another pic taken when the sun was out briefly

IMG_7270 (480x640)

Before I leave I hope to have a little more creative time soon. My second part time job has had a change of management and as a result my role will no longer be required as  it is their policy to outsource this role to the local council.  I am not sad as I am hoping I will gain a few more hours to play in my craft room soon 🙂  In the first challenge I entered for the colour tree challenge Bronwyn included a pdf file for a spring planter box card, hopefully with the extra hours I gain soon I will be able to give it a go.

Until next time

Cheers

What I love + Endless Birthday wishes…

Hello

Popping in with this card which I am linking up to the current challenge at The Colour Tree here

and

Uniko – Anything Goes Challenge here

and

Seize the Birthday here

I had all the best intentions to make this earlier in the week.

IMG_7260 (640x438)

I have used SU What I love and Endless Birthday wishes stamped with SU Rose Red, Garden Green and Blushing Bride ink.  For the 3 step flower I used Rose red stamped off first to get a third colour/shade of pink. I fussy cut 3 flowers and popped them up with foam tape. To colour the leaves I swiped some garden green ink onto my craft sheet and picked up the colour with a blender pen.  The card base is crumb cake mounted with blushing bride and very vanilla.  To finish I added sequins from my stash (you know a small bag from the local trimmings shop is going to last me a lifetime!)

IMG_7259 (640x429)

Hoping the weather clears as we are planning a trip to Werribee Zoo twilights.

Last few days before school holidays finish.  Hubby has been back to work most days, you wouldn’t believe he was on school holidays and I worked one day this week from home.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend

Thanks for stopping

Cheers
