Wedding season…

Hello

Back to share a couple of cards friends asked me to make recently.

This first one is half an A4 sheet scored. I used a punch to make the bow ties and Die cut names in silver foil.

This next one uses some of those off cuts from other projects.  I used a pre-cut & scored base 14.5 cm x 14.5 cm square.  I used simple embossed “layers” to make the cake with little slivers of gold foil between the cake layers.  A cascade of punched flowers with liquid pearl centres decorate the cake.  Again die cut names to personalise.  This would have to be one of my go to layouts for Wedding Cards.

Thanks for stopping

Cheers

Unstampabelles Tea in the Garden ….

Hello

Today I am popping in to share my creation for the current challenge at Unstampabelles here

Add our button if you wish

The newest challenge is
Tea in the Garden

and the TWIST is use some watercolouring somewhere……
I started by creating my background with my water colour paints.  The section top right is meant to look like a flowering vine.  Hope you can see that!  I added die cut MFT tea pot and cups.  I added a butterfly stencil (I raided the kiddos art supplies for that one!) to the tea pot.  I used a new makeup brush from Daiso it is in appearance like the new stencilling brushes I have seen people using.  The brush gave great results with very little effort however I don’t think the handle will last long I feel if I put to much pressure the handle is going to snap! Can’t expect much for $2.80 though.  I finished the pot and cups with overflowing punched leaves and flowers with liquid pearl centres.
I have been know to sit outside with a pot of tea, a book and my knitting, especially if the weather is nice.  I’m a bit like goldilocks it can’t be too hot or too cold! just right.  Sometimes it has to be the front step as my dog likes to be included!
I am going to link this up to the August challenge at Bizzy Becs Store here
Anything goes

Thanks for stopping

Cheers

Unstampabelles…

Hello

I’m back today to share my creation for the current challenge at Unstampabelles. here

b80cd-NEW2BBANNER

“To Have and To Hold”

What better way to do that than with some glamour.
So the TWIST this month is
To use some ART DECO Glamour!
Remember, you don’t have to do the TWIST to enter
BUT ….. what is a challenge without a CHALLENGE!
What is Art Deco all about?
It is about STYLE!
It started about the 1920’s and finished in the 40’s. Based around geometric designs and patterns it was incorporated into buildings, manufacturing, clothing, furnishings and furniture and jewellery. It also was a big part of Art, as well as Crafts.
It was build through Art Nouveau and it’s sinuous curves, but was more fixated on smooth lines, geometric shapes, streamlined forms and bright, sometimes garish colours. It also incorporated lots of costly items such as gold and silver and jewels but after the depression of the 30’s it began to use cheaper, newer materials like plastic and chrome.
There are lots of images to be seen in Google Images and lots of things on Pinterest as well, but don’t just look for cards – look for items and boxes and materials and clothing……you will get so much inspiration!

There is a Random Number Prize, yes

$15 AU
Here is my first card
I used mounts of black and gold foil for the twist of Art Deco inspiration.  The wedding cake is Art Deco inspired. I created 3 tiers popped up with foam tape.  The bottom is scored lines to give the effect, the middle tier I hand cut triangles to form the shape often seen in art deco works and I left the top tier plain.
I was inspired by this wedding cake you can find it here.
art deco wedding cake by GC Couture Cakes
I have also made a second wedding inspired card without the twist for my stash!
I have used a mount of silver foil and also used the same foil to die cut the sentiment.  I used various punched flowers with liquid pearl centres to create my floral cascade. You may think I spent ages punching flowers however I punch my scrap pieces before binning so I have a pretty good collection!  This a great way to use some of them up. 😉
Hope you can join us in the challenge.  You still have loads of time to join in.
Cheers

stars 50th card (517x640)

Another significant birthday! This time for a friend’s hubby.

I started by punching stars from bits of pattern and plain paper and cardstock. I also have a few die cut gold foil ones too. I placed the numbers on the card front with foam tabs then started with the largest stars and stapled them to the card front.  Then working from largest to smallest star I added more stars with glue and foam tabs until I was happy with the result.

Looking forward to seeing you in the challenge – remember no stamps!

Until next time

Cheers

There is still a few days to join the challenge.

Until next time

July Challenge SBB…

Hello

Hope you are well.  Melbourne has turned on the sunshine the last few days which has been very welcome.

Today I am sharing a card for a book club/walking friend who is celebrating a birthday soon.  I am entering it into the current challenge at Scrapbook Boutique here

My inspiration was the cute dog.

I chose Papersmooches paws for a cause and paired with the sentiment from PTI Penned Elegance. I created my own pattern paper using images from Papersmooches.  I felt I needed a little pop of colour so added a few red hearts.  The sentiment panel, dogs and hearts are all popped up with foam tabs.

My friend has 3 dogs and is very much an animal lover so I think she will like this card.

Until next time

Cheers

Vicki

Green and Gold and first DT post for UnstampaBelles …

Hello

A little while back I won the challenge at UnstampaBelles and the lovely Susan asked me to join the DT.  This is my first post for the DT.

You can find the challenge blog here or on my side bar

The July challenge is colours of your country.  Now I am born and raised in Melbourne, Australia so my colours are red, white and blue.  For this challenge I have gone with the unofficial colours of green and gold (yellow).  And the twist for this challenge is make it square.

july 2016 DT 3 (640x602)

I created the window frame using SU Hearth and Home die cut in white cardstock and in foam for dimension.  I also cut into the Kaisercraft Confetti pattern paper to recess the window frame.  The flowers, leaves and tree were cut from scrap cardstock using Memory Box Arboscello Tree, CC Designs Leafy branch and SU Itty bitty accents punch. All finished with a few rhinestones. The card is 12.5 cm square.

I hope to see your creations in this months Unstampabelles Challenge.

Thanks for stopping

Cheers

Playing with 3 x 3 …

Hello

Today marks the first day everyone is back at school/work/uni for the year.  I know it is March.

So what did I do?  I played  helped out  in the art room for Ms A.  We went outside for about an hour and sketched what we could see then returned to the art room to add tones and colours.  Some of these kids can draw and clearly it isn’t for some of the others. I picked up a tip or two from the art teacher – you know there is a reason I like stamps, dies and punches! I really can’t draw.

Anyway I am back home now and thought I would share a few things I put together over the weekend.

I am linking up to the following challenges

NBUS #6 – Never before used schtuff here – today mine are SU No Bones about it, IBS Small Fancy Labels 1 (sentiment) and SU Flowering Fields

Never-Before-Used-Schtuff (Stamps, Dies, EFs, etc.)

Seize the birthday here – most of the 3 x 3 cards I created are good for a birthday

Our Badge

All cards are 3 x 3.  I plan to make them into little sets.

3 x 3 cards male (640x479)

In this group I have used NBUS SU No Bones about it, sentiment from Jane’s Doodles Doodle Flowers II, PTI World’s Greatest plus SU word window & modern label punches.

3 x 3 cards (640x359)

In this group I have used PTI birthday tags and Tremendous treats stamp sets.  I coloured the hot air balloon with alcohol markers and the balloons with intense pencils. I have also used circle punches.

3 x 3 cards girlie (640x632)

In the final grouping I have used Mama Elephant Waterblooms and IBS NBUS Small Fancy labels 1 sentiment. The other stamps used are from PTI Tremendous treats, NBUS SU Flowering Fields and the “a little something for a little someone” is also SU but I don’t know where from! I again used circle punches, SU Itty bitty accents punch, ME Sew fancy dies and SU Tags & Labels framelits.  The cake is coloured with alcohol markers and has a wink of stella on the candles. Whilst the Flowers were stamped by colouring the stamp with a marker and then adding colour from the ink pad with a water brush.

I also used some pattern paper by adding a layered sentiment.  I must make up some normal size cards to use some of the pattern paper I have been holding on to.

Thanks for stopping

Cheers
