Starry….

Hello

For those who celebrate the festive season are you madly running around ticking things off your list?  I am.  I have a big shopping day planned for my day off this week with 3 of my kiddos just to tick those last minute gifts off my list.

Today I am sharing my DT Card for the current challenge at Unstampabelles here

Challenge #96

Star Struck Starry Night

TWIST Use Sparkle Pens and/or Glues

(or make it sparkly!)

Now I have opted for a non-Christmas themed starry card.  A little cluster of sparkly stars like you might see in the milky way at night.

The guidelines from Ms E were gold and sparkly. I have ticked that box.  I used stitched circle dies, an Alpha die, a few star punches and dies all cut with gold foil or gold glitter paper.  I popped the letter “K” (for the recipients name!) up with foam tabs. A nice clean and simple personalised birthday card.

So if you still have a few last minute cards or tags to make or a birthday card (I find stars great for male cards) you still have time to join in our current challenge at Unstampabelles.  Hope to see your creations in the linky.

Thanks for stopping

Cheers

Unstampabelles Challenge #84…

Hello

Boy the weeks fly by don’t they.

It is my turn to share at Unstampelles current challenge here

Challenge#84: Emboss, emboss, emboss……..

The TWIST is to make it for a male!
The Random Number Draw prize will be Stampin’ Up’s
I began by using embossing paste coloured with re-inker and circle stencil.  Once dry I cut to desired size for my card front and mounted on cs of the same colour.  I used my large letters and number to die cut HB2U (Happy Birthday to You) in silver foil.  I then embossed those with a Kaisercraft embossing folder and added them to my card base with foam tabs.
Excluding the drying time this was a pretty quick and easy card and I think great for a boy/young male adult.  Mr M (20) did confirm he would be happy to give to one of his mates for an upcoming birthday.
Hope to see you in the challenge. Remember no stamps!
Cheers

This weeks requests…

Hello

This week one of the kiddos requested a Harry Potter inspired card.

I CASed this card from here

I free hand drew the hair and the scar before cutting out. I used SU Celebrate today for the “happy” and Number of Years for the “st”.  The die cut numbers are from Papersmooches popped up with foam tabs.  The glasses were made with circle punches and a strip of cs.

And for another 21st

A quick and easy card along with a personalised envelope.   The envelope was large enough for the personalised luggage tag and gift card and the card.  I CASed the envelope from here

And my last share for today is Ms A’s request. Ms A chose all the elements including the card base.  For my regular readers you wont be surprised she was very specific about what colour papers had to go where!

Thats all for today

Thanks for stopping by

Unstampabelles Collage Challenge…

Hello

Today I am sharing my creation for the Unstampabelles current challenge here

Collage, collage, collage…

TWIST venture into multi- media

(multimedia means using two or more mediums together: so paint and texture paste or glue and paper or seed beads and paste/glue or ribbon, flowers and paint……)

Random Number Prize

Collage (from the Frenchcoller, “to glue”;[ is a technique of an art production, primarily used in the visual arts, where the artwork is made from an assemblage of different forms, thus creating a new whole.

A collage may sometimes include magazine and newspaper clippingsribbonspaint, bits of colored or handmade papers, portions of other artwork or texts, photographs and other found objects, glued to a piece of paper or canvas. The origins of collage can be traced back hundreds of years, but this technique made a dramatic reappearance in the early 20th century as an art form of novelty.

The term collage was coined by both Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso in the beginning of the 20th century when collage became a distinctive part of modern art.

There are lots of examples on Pinterest if you want to waste a few hours!
Use the ‘collage in cards’ search for some simple examples

This one was out of my comfort zone. My creation is more on the side of multi media.  I think it still fits the collage brief.

I started by adding some colour to my texture paste.  This was added to a white mount and then a black mount and finally to my card front.  When the texture paste was dry I used the same spritz to add a few splashes of colour. I then added my die cuts, positioning until I was happy with the result.  The “DAD” is die cut from cork from the local craft store the tools are die cut in a bronze shiny paper from my stash along with a contrasting black cardstock.

I hope to see you in the challenge.

Cheers

For the men…

Hello

We have a holiday today for the Queen’s Birthday.  Hope you are having a great time enjoying your day off.

Today I am sharing a card for a Dad.

#69: To the men in our lives….. TWIST add an animal
The Prize will be …..
a mystery collection of new crafting bits
As it is a mystery – there is no photograph of it!
There might be teasers during the month…..

Unstampabelles Challenges

You can find the challenge here

I used my SU Large Letters to die cut “DAD” in my pattern paper. I added foam to the back and placed them back in the spaces.  The trick was not to mix up the “D’s”.

The twist is to add an animal so I opened up some kaisercraft wood pieces that have been sitting unloved on my desk for far to long!

Hope to see you in the challenge

A significant birthday…

Hello

Recently we went to a significant birthday party for a friend of ours.  When someone at the party asked me how long I had known the birthday girl I was a little shocked that it is close to 30 years. Boy time flys.

Here is the card I made

I used my SU letters for the birthday girl’s name along with  cookie cutter punch, owl punch, fox punch and Papersmooches Hullabalo to make my “Liz”.  I used an embossing folder to create the background and my sentiment is from Cool treats.

The birthday girl is a great athelete competing in iron women events, various runs/marathons and stair runs (running up stair wells of very tall buildings). We meet when my hubby was competing in triathalons.  After so long mixing with these fit people it hasn’t rubbed off on me!

Hopefully you can see my idea of a water sport themed card.

I am linking this up to the challenge at Seize the Birthday here one layer – no toppings this time for me.

Thanks for stopping

Cheers
