Unstampabelles final week …

Hello

I am back with another card for Unstampabelles challenge here

Add our button if you wish

botanical builder 50th frame card (599x640)

I started with a 3D box frame which I created a stand for so it would stand up.  I decorated the inside surface first then layered my leaves and flowers starting with the largest and working down to the smallest.  I finished the centres of the flowers with black enamel accents.

There is still a few days to join the challenge.

Until next time

Cheers

Vicki

Unstampabelles…

Hello

Today I am sharing my DT creation for Unstampabelles here

You still have a couple of days to get your entry in

Tic Tac Toe

TWIST journal about the decision making process

     RIBBON                 LACE             STRING
   BUTTONS               BLING             BRADS
   FLOWERS            DIE-CUTS           STICKERS

Instructions for the Peeps:

  • You must chose only one row across or down or diagonally – remember three in a row
  • You have to choose only these three items from the grid to add to your work
  • a good rule to remember: you cannot choose for example ribbon, string and stickers, as none of the edges of these boxes touch

Yes, there is a prize:

Here ’tis!

I have gone diagonal top right to bottom left – flowers – bling – string

I have used MFT rolled roses, SU Boutique Bunch & Botanical Blooms and SU petite flower punch.  I added gold string (twine) behind the flowers before finishing off with Bo bunny Jewels.

Here is a closer pic

I kept this card fairly simple as it was sent off to a friend in sympathy on the passing of her mother.

Spring Planter Box…

Hello

After my not following the rules for The Colour Tree Challenge I decided to have another go.  I also have no excuses for not having a go at the Spring Planter Box tutorial Bronwyn kindly gave all participants from Challenge #1.

This will be given to a friend who had a birthday last week – late I know but we wont see each other til next week so all OK.

I have used the correct colours this time for the challenge at TCTC #4 here

spring planter box 1 (594x640)

Instead of stamping with the hardwood stamp set I inked up my Sizzix Woodgrain embossing folder with crumb cake ink (an allowable neutral I think) and embossed the pieces.  I also substituted in Sizzlits Little leaves die which I used to make the leaves from Pool Party Cardstock.  I created the flowers on calypso coral and daffodil delight cardstock with calypso coral marker and daffodil delight ink.  I used SU Petite Petals and SU Flower shop stamp sets. I created the little Happy Birthday tag using SU Endless Birthday Wishes stamp set stamped in tip top taupe and die cut with Tag and Labels Framelits on very vanilla cardstock.  The twine is white Baker’s twin.  I die cut the butterflies using Bold Butterflies Framelits.

One last Christmas Card…

Hello

I am also linking up to the Challenge at Unstampabelles – Southern Hemisphere Christmas

UnstampaBelles Challenges

Here is my card

IMG_6252 (640x577)

This is for Ms 15’s boyfriend. The instructions were to be not to “girly”.  I was inspired by these toppers here. Thank you Judy. I have used the ornament punch, oval punches, a flower punch and a small circle punch. I embossed with a swirly embossing folder and a square lattice folder. The paper used was from my scraps. The finished card is 10cm square.

Before I go I want to share a pic of our Melaluca tree which sadly was removed from our yard yesterday.

IMG_6188 (2) (640x437)

This pic was taken from the upstairs window of my house looking over the yard. When Mr 16 and Ms 15 were smaller they would climb the tree and slide down the roof of the car port back into the tree. My only request was they didn’t fall! So for the last few days Ms 15 and Ms 10 have spent a lot of time climbing the tree and sliding down the roof to say good bye. We estimate the tree to be at least 40-45 years old (we have lived here for 22 years and the tree was well established before then). The tree had to be removed as the neighbour had got advice it was damaging her house. We will be replanting – just not another melaluca.

I didn’t realise until I read this post here that these trees were known as Summer snow. Thanks Susan.

This will be my last post before the Jolly Fat man pays a visit.

If you celebrate the Christmas Season I wish you a Merry Christmas and a big thank you to all who follow and comment regularly.

Cheers

A few flowers…

2014 March

Hello

It has been a long time since my last post – nearly a month. I must admit I haven’t been spending much time in my craft room. Out of necessity I have created this card for my oldest friend’s birthday (we have been friends since pre-school/kinder) – a very long time! Although we don’t see each other often due to varying things. Anyway enough of my waffle.

A Card in a box

and the back

I have used SU Petite Petals stamp set and co ordinating punch, SU Papillon Potpourri, SU Sweet Summer, Sizzlits Little Leaves, SU cardstock, patterned paper and inks.

Thank you to Tanya for the video I used at

Before I go the pic at the top of this post is my cheeky cat. No wonder I can’t grow plants!

Until next time
