A butterfly card for Gran…

Hello

Today I am sharing a card I have made for my Gran’s Birthday which is in a couple of weeks.

I am linking up to the May challenge at Scrapbook Boutique here.

This is the perfect inspiration for a card for Gran. She loves butterflies and I think they are pretty great too.

Here is my card

Butterfly basics 1 (512x640)

I started by inking my Tim Holtz embossing folder with SU brown sugar ink and embossing SU Kraft cardstock. Next I stamped a couple of images from Papersmooches Botanicals 1 & 2 with SU Old Olive ink using second generation stamping to get variations in colour onto SU Very Vanilla cardstock. I die cut this with Lifestyle crafts nesting circles and a base in green from my scraps using the same set of dies. I die cut butterflies from glimmer gold paper (not sure where I got this from and it lighter than normal cardstock) using SU Butterflies thinlits and SU embosslits Beautiful wings. I layered all this onto my card front along with a scrap of twill ribbon and a die cut Mpress Birdcage cut from off white glimmery paper. To finish off I added a few sequins I picked up from Trimmings and Remnants.

Here is a closer pic. I used my phone for the pics today.

ATC + Scrapbook boutique + Papersmooches

Hi there

School holidays have started so that means lots of days at the zoo, park, museums and hopefully a day trip or too out of the city – maybe a little crafting if I can.

Today I have a set of 3 cards to share.

They started as ATC (Artist Trading Cards) which I made and linking to the current challenge at Crafting with Dragonflies.

I then transformed these into a set of notecards which I am linking up to the current challenges and Scrapbook boutique and Papersmooches. Click on the pics to take you to their sites.

I received a new Darice embossing folder from Hilde at Crafting with Dragonflies and had to have a play.  I made this card for my niece who had a birthday this week.  I used Papersmooches Birthday Sampler, Fascinators and Paws for a Cause stamp sets with PTI Plum Pudding ink. The ribbon is white seam binding ribbon from SBB coloured with Tim Holtz dusty concord marker.

My prize

Garden Gate and Spring Blossom…

Hi Everyone.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend. Not a bad one here, the children had a  few good games. The  U9 Netball (Miss 8) and U16  (Mr 15) Basketball won, however the girls open team had a loss – they were up at 3/4 time – Miss 17 & Miss 13 play open Netball (same team).

I was lucky to get some new stamp sets from Flourishes by way of Moxie Fab World recently. I really like these images – they are great for colouring. I inked up the Garden Gate set and made this card.  I stamped the image onto water colour paper. I have coloured it using Stampin UP!, Tim Holtz and Marvey Le Plume markers. The cardstock is from Pebbles and I used Lifestyle Crafts circle dies. The button is from my stash with a little twine from the Twinery (blossom) added. I haven’t added a sentiment yet.

And I made a second card using Flourishes Spring Blossom same cardstock.

I used an Xcut Scallop Circle die and added a Stampin UP! Sizzix Butterfly with a little bling. I also added a little bling with clear and pink Spica pens – sorry they don’t show up in this pic. Perhaps I should have made the butterfly pink. I do like how this card came together.

I am linking these up to

A little Bird…

I used a free digi from Birdie Brown along with Lawn Fawn Blissful Botanicals.

Birdie Brown

I coloured the main image using SU markers. I stamped the AC cardstock with a single flower from Blissful Botanicals in su ink – sorry doesn’t show very well in the pictues. I die cut a scalloped circle from PTI limitless layers and the coloured image from Lifestyle crafts nesting circles and added to card front. The butterflies are from SU beautiful wings embosslits. The flowers were stamped on AC cardstock, fussy cut and added to the base and then finished off with a gem. The sentiment is from ABS Party Animals 1 stamped in onyx black.

The Lollipop Ladies…

???????????????????????????????????????????????I am linking this set of cards upto the challenge at the Lollipop Ladies

??????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????????????????

???????????????????????????????????????????????

I have used Stampin UP! Sizzix Embosslits Beautiful Wings cut from various bits of cardstock I had on hand (not sure of brands). I glued them in a swirl pattern to represent the swirls of the lollipops. Two of the cards start with the smaller butterflies towards the centre and fly out whilst the other two are the opposite with the larger butterflies in the centre with the smaller ones trailing in the distance. I added some bling to the centre of each butterfly to finish off. I perfer the later while Miss S prefers the former. I ummed and arred about this for a while – that’s why I ended up with two styles!

School goes back here this week. Miss A starts tomorrow Mr M Friday, Miss E Monday (next week) and then Miss S Tuesday (next week) and hubby went back today. So another week before everyone gets back to their routine.

Hope everyone in Australia is staying dry – at the very least I hope you are not effected by the flooding.

Cheers

Vicki
