For my friend…

I have made this on behalf of our walking/book club group of friends. One of our lovely friends is having a birthday this week. We will be celebrating by going to lunch, a spot of retail therapy and discussing our latest read (Me before You – Jojo Moyne). Unfortunately our dogs will be left out this week! I am sure they will cope – although mine cries when she misses her normal walk with “her” friends. I don’t know how she knows it is dog friend walking day, but if we don’t go she sits at the back door crying. Any way I am off track. The lovely friend who I meet at playgroup with our youngest kiddos and who introduced me to the rest of the group is having a birthday this week.

One of the group has bought a joint gift and I have made this card. The dog in the cart was the most like a Jack Russel stamp I had (she has a jack russel) and my friend loves gardening. Doesn’t miss the annual flower and garden show so this was the perfect image for her.

I used a number of markers from SU, Tim Holtz, Zig and Marvy Le Plume to water colour my SU image. I sponged the edges with SU Bashful Blue before matting on to black cardstock. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Market Street Stamps Simply Salutations stamped onto a SU Sizzlits Lots of tags label die the whole panel is popped up with foam tape. The card front is SU DSP Cheerful Treat mounted again onto black cardstock with white ribbon from my stash added before fixing to card base. The final touch is felt flowers cut with MFT rolled flower die with a pearl centre.

I am pretty sure she is going to love it.

One for the hard working guys…

IMG_3494

Well how time does get away between posts.

I have used a free digi from Birdie Brown coloured using markers (SU Lucky Limeade, Midnight Muse, Tim Holtz Antique linen – my substitute for crumb cake!). I moved the colour around with my aqua marker before fussy cutting and popping up with foam tabs. I die cut an Ezy press cog die and used a lifestyle crafts nesting circle to cut out the centre in SU whisper white. This is all fixed to a crumb cake card front embossed using SU stripes embossing folder. I have also die cut MFT tool charms in midnight muse.  The sentiment is from ABS Lil Monster’s Balloon.

I used the free digital stamp from Birdie Brown this month to create this card. I also used Pebbles cardstock, Lifestyle crafts instant photo frame die and square lace dies. I coloured my image with Tim Holtz and Stampin UP! markers. The buttons are from Stampin UP! buttons die cut from scraps of cardstock. The yellow twine threaded through them is from Annabelle stamps. You’re the Best…

Hello – been a while. Sorry life just got busy!IMG_3434

IMG_3436This last one I am linking to this weeks challenge at Annabelle stamps.

I have used American Crafts Pebbles paper for the background. I die cut the circle using Lifestyle crafts Nesting Circles and Papertry Ink Limitless Layers 2 1/2″ Circle die – to cut the zig zag circle. I stamped the Dog from Annabelle Stamps Party Animals 1 with stazon ink and coloured with Stampin UP! and Tim Holtz markers. The sentiment is from the same set stamped using a marker.

Not sure where the ribbon and spotted paper are from on the first one (maybe Crafters Choice) and the second one uses American Crafts Pebbles paper and cardstock. The stamps are all from Annabelle stamps coloured with markers. I tried to create a shadow with grey crayon. What do you think?

I hope to be back in the next few days with some more to share.

I have finished my book for book club (Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close – Jonathan Safran Foer) – finished this afternoon and we are meeting tomorrow! So I should have some more crafting time in the next few days. I’m not a good example leaving things to the last minute. Miss E (17) asked me why I leave it to the last couple of days before I really start to read the book.

Have a great weekend and thanks for taking a peek.

Cheers

Happy Birthday Sonia…

IMG_3418This is the second card for the Barbie 18th last night. Just got this finished in time to take a quick pic before heading out to the party. I did rush this a bit and unfortunately I think it shows – my colouring isn’t that great.

I know Barbie and the Tardis?? Not sure of the relationship myself. Anyway it was the DR and a tardis that was requested.

I got he original image from http://mayzyartfree.blogspot.com.au/2013/01/doo-weeeeeee-doo.html

I have used cardstock from my stash including the stripes from Creative. I coloured in the Dr using Tim Holtz, Stampin UP! and Marvy Le Plume markers finished with a touch of spica pen to the sonic screwdriver. I coloured the image from Stampin UP! Happiest Birthday Wishes with markers before punching out using a SU tag punch. The DR is popped up with foam tabs.

I am going to link this up to the anything goes challenge here

Through the Craftroom Door

Thanks for stopping

Enjoy the rest of your weekend

Feel better…

I have used the set Raindrops from Jane’s Doodles. I was lucky to receive this from

http://marianagrigsby.wordpress.com/2013/01/14/a-jd-card-sweet-heart-giveaways/.

I was so pleased I had had these sets on my wish list for a while.

I used paper from DCWV Nana’s Nursery layered with AC from my stash. The image is stamped in SU Luky Limeade, cut out and popped up with foam tape. I used Tim Holtz black soot and Vintage Photo markers to stamp the handle before adding a Bo Bunny Jewel to the top of the umberella to finish off.

I am entering this card in the CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #17

I’m popping this in a box of cards for my Gran. I’m actually picking her up soon and taking her to the dentist – she chipped a tooth. At almost 95 she is worried she might have to get false teeth. I figure one tooth out of a whole mouth doesn’t mean you need false teeth – but I’ll let the dentist tell her that.

Hope your week has got off to a great start. Going to be another hot week here in Melbourne.

Thanks for taking a peek. I don’t always reply to your comments, but I do enjoy reading them. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.

Dr Who

How is everyone going? Feels so long since I have made anything. Had a few days away with the family and extended family after Christmas. Then I had a few days home without the family. Perfect time for some uninterrupted crafting I hear you say.  Oh but I spent the time working – small breaks away from the desk but mostly working.

IMG_2979

Just sharing a card I have made for Mr M who turns 15 on the 15th.

He is a huge Dr Who fan. So when I came across this free digi at MayzyArt – mayzyartfree.blogspot.com.au recently I just had to use it for his Birthday card.

What do you think?

Miss A (8) came to give her approval – at her suggestion I added some clear spica pen to the top of the tardis and the sonic screwdriver. Not sure if you can see it in the pic.

I will link this up to the following challenges

http://stampwithsarahkay.blogspot.com.au/ – blue and white

http://pennyschallenges.blogspot.com.au/ – anything goes

http://jensdigis.blogspot.com.au/2013/01/lets-celebrate-challenge.html – Birthday

http://divasbydesignchallenge.blogspot.com.au/2013/01/anything-goes.html – anything goes

I hope if you are in any of the fire zones you have managed to stay safe.

I hope to be back soon.

The Stamp Spot

Sharing this card I made using a stamp set from a win at The Stamp Spot in November. It is Mo Manning Fairy. I coloured her using Tim Holtz Markers and Stampin UP! Blush Blossom the other stamps are from PTI and the twine is from AnnaBelle stamps.

I have a certain friend in mind for this Christmas card.

Head on over to The Stamp Spot  http://www.thestampspot.blogspot.com.au/ – my tag #3 won the November challenge. Lucky! The prize disounted washi tape – now to work on that list.

I am also going to link this to the December Challenge at the stamp spot – Anything Christmas Goes!

Hope your having a great day.

Cheers
