Lady in red…

Hello

How has your week been? Mine has been a bit of a whirl wind.  It has been full up with meetings, after school activities, work and general family stuff.  And a first world problem.  Now before you read any further you can skip my rant and head to the pretty pictures if you like  – I wont know! Yesterday afternoon the plan was to pick up my delivery from the parcel locker on the way home from work, pick up Ms A from school, head to major shopping centre to pick up Mr M (18 – this trip would be unnecessary if he would get his driver’s licence!) then head to Ms S’s school to pick her up from an after school SAC all by 5 pm!. This was doable and planned so there was no doubling back and Ms S could be home as quick as possible because she has a charity event today that started at 3.30 am. So what was the issue? My phone. It was working fine at the parcel locker.  Went to call Mr M enroute to shopping centre to arrange pick up – phone would not connect to the car. Small issue I thought I’ll ring when I stop driving.  No phone just a black screen.  Head into shopping centre breaking with the original plan, my aim to find a public telephone.  We don’t have those anymore do we. A little annoying! 😦 The lovely cleaners directed me to the service desk where the helpful staff let me use the phone and offered to put his name over the PA system.  He answered on the 3rd call!  I was going to take them up on the PA offer, even if he would’ve been mortified.   When I eventually got home what the stories were? Yes Ms S had finished 40 minutes early and had been messaging and phoning me whilst waiting and Ms E had finished Uni early and had been calling to offer to help pick up.   We tried for a while to get the phone working – no luck. How much do I now rely on a mobile phone to help organise my family.   You can guess I will be heading out soon to look at getting a new one!

If you have read my venting – thank you. Now onto some nicer things.

I finally found a little time to finish this red jumper for Ms A (11).

She has a little growing room.  I’m not sure she will wear it much this year – I’m hoping for warmer days,  but next year it will fit perfectly!

IMG_7432 (303x640)

This is made using BWM bold bamboo in rouge.  I used the Step Hem Jumper pattern from Patons Women’s Merino Collection.

I also finished a dog’s coat for the lost dog’s home

This will be heading in tomorrow with these I shared last week.

dog jackets for lost dogs home mine and Margarets. (478x640)

I also made this little thank you for Margaret as she knitted the 4 aqua dog coats.

I used some twine! The sentiment is from PTI mega Mixed Messages stamped in SU Dapper Denium.

As usual I have a request or two from my kiddos so it wont be long before I’m back to share.

Until then

Cheers

Vicki

More Penny Black Wonderful…

Hello

While I had Penny Black Wonderful out the other day I also created this Thinking of you card for a work colleague who lost her mother recently.

penny black wonderful 3 (640x460)

I teamed this with MSS Simple Salutations.  As you can see I used copics again to colour and the same patterned paper however instead of ribbon I used twine from True Hemp this time.

Today I had a day trip with Ms E (20) to Bendigo where we indulged at Bendigo Woollen Mills among other places.  We decided we need to return to Bendigo again to visit some places we just didn’t have time for and to go back to some we really liked browsing in.  I was really happy to visit the pottery and find the potter at work who I had purchased several pieces from 20+ years ago!  I now have his contact details for a couple of pieces that have been broken over the years.

Thanks for stopping

Cheers

Happy Birthday with PTI…

It is one of my nephews 16th Birthday in the next few days. I made this card using PTI Boy Basics Game on stamped with black ink and SU Tangerine Tango and the sentiment is from PTI Birthday Bash. I used washi tape TSS #13 and another I picked up from a craft show. I used hemp twine to make the game control and popped it up with a foam tab.

A couple of birthdays…

Sorry this is a long post. Hope you can bear with me.

I have made this card for a friend’s husband – apparently he isn’t happy about “the number”. I might be the same when I get there! I used punches to create the angry bird – I was inspired by a something I saw on a forum.

There is a tutorial here  http://stampinwithniki.blogspot.com.au/2011/12/angry-birds-tutorial.html.

I am linking this upto the monthly challenge at the Stamp Spot – heart – (http://thestampspot.blogspot.com.au/) I actually used to heart shapes

http://movingalongwiththetimes.blogspot.com.au/ – punch it out

Another friend shares the same birthday and I made this for her

IMG_3161

I used lots of different sentiment stamps to make the word panel – if I miss naming one please forgive me. I also used some dies to create the flourish and the felt flowers. When I gave this to my friend this morning she couldn’t believe I had individually stamped each word.

and another version of this for Miss A’s godmother

and after seeing the angry bird I made for the card above one of Miss E’s oldest friends made a comment so I made this tag as a book mark for her.

I am linking this tag upto the challenge http://www.sarahhurleychallenges.blogspot.com.au/ – anything but a card

Thanks for hanging in there.

Mr M and Miss A have not long arrived home from school. I made them walk today as I have a house full of 13 year old girls! Better go and check the party pies.

Hope you have a great weekend.

Gingerbread House Challenge #61…

IMG_2961I have made a tag for a pressie still to be shared. I will be linking this up to the challenge over at the Lollipop Ladies.  I think I should just make it.

I used Die namics tag stax die, AnnaBelle stamps digi paper and dies from Lifestyle crafts. I drew the features on the gingerbread people with white gel pen. I can’t believe I haven’t had ink on my fingers for days now!

Sharing a few pics of my Christmas tables before everyone arrived. Hope you all had a great Christmas/Festive Holiday.

IMG_2960bIMG_2959b My husband and the children made these Christmas trees using chicken wire and tinsel with an MDF base.

Thanks for taking the time to have a peek.

Wishing you a Happy New Year!

Cup cake toppers

A busy week(end) for us.

Miss 12 is now Miss 13 and these are the cake toppers for her party on Saturday night.

IMG_2774

I used ABS stamps, the new ABS digi paper and the back was plain card stock. I posted a pic of her birthday card a few days ago – so if you missed it scroll down.

She celebrated with about 15 girls at home with pizza.

And Miss 7 is Miss 8 today these are the cake toppers for her party on Sunday and she celebrated with 14 girls and some party pies, chips and other party food.

IMG_2800

I used PTI tiny birthday treats and cardstock.

IMG_2763

I used ABS Tomorrow’s Dream for her card coloured with markers before being cut out along with MSS Simple Salutations, Creativ ABC and PTI Heart-2-Heart #2 for the balloon. I also used paper from Jillibean Soup and MFT die.

Now don’t think it’s all over – later in the week Miss 16 will be Miss 17 – so I will be back later in the week to share her card.

Thanks for visiting and taking time to leave such lovely comments.

Cheers

Hang in There…

I have used the Hero Arts set Playful Animals to make a card for a friend from my first mum’s group – We still call our selves that after 17 years! She is going into have her gal bladder removed on Friday this is after she had surgery two weeks ago to remove a stone that was blocking her liver.

I coloured my images using Tim Holtz markers. I water colour washed (I think that’s how you describe it) the background with Stampin UP! Certainly Celery. One of the sentiments is from the same set whilst the other is from AnnaBelle Stamps Lil Molly’s Flowers.

I am linking this card to the sketch challenge this week at AnnaBelle Stamps.

I also have another friend having back surgery next week and I have made this card for her using the new digi paper from AnnaBelle Stamps as the background. I stamped various get well messages from PTI Mega Mixed Messages, Paper Tray and AnnaBelle stamps Lil Molly’s Flowers. I will link this up to the monthly challenge of stripes at AnnaBelle stamps.

Hope you’re having a great day. I have spent the day with my walking/book club friends celebrating one of the girl’s birthdays (I have a card for that too but will share that in another post). Whilst we were out I got some great news – a job I had an interview for a few weeks ago I have been offered. I will be starting next week. That might mean a few little changes around here – but I am very excited.

Thanks for stopping by

Birdie Brown November Challenge

I used a free image from Birdie Brown – and I’m linking my card up to the November Challenge.

http://birdiebrown.blogspot.jp/2012/11/november-freebies-challenge.html

I coloured the image using Tim Holtz and Stampin Up! markers. I used paper from Hot of the Press Forever Christmas and MME Snowed in Winter papers. The twine is from Spotlight and the sentiment is from AnnaBelle Stamps Ornamental Christmas.  I layered the image using Courture Creations nesting dies and black cardstock.

Slowly getting through my list of “to do”.  Have a number of birthdays in the next 10 days or so and a couple of friends having ops. Busy time.

Before I go wanted to share a pic of my gardenias. A crafty blogger and DT member I follow shared her gardenia a few days ago – so just thought I’d share mine too.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers

Vicki

I have edited this post to remove the free digi – If you would like it please go to the original site!
