Back again with my second entry for the Uniko Challenge
I used Uniko English Country Garden – Butterflies, Classic Alphapet and Flower Power #3 to make this card. I stamped the buttefly onto vellum and coloured with alcohol markers. The flowers from Flower power #3 are stamped in PTI Lavender Moon and Plum Pudding before adding Kindy Glitz to both the flowers and the butterfly. The sentiment was stamped in Versafine Onyx black. This is really sparkly in real life.
Tonight I am off to Werribee Zoo twilight – marshmallows, torches and warm clothes. It is great to see the nocturnal animals for a change.
I started by stamping the leaves and stem outline from Uniko flower power #3 in SU wild wasabi I then stamped the image from Uniko flower power #4 in SU Certainly Celery onto SU Whisper White CS. The flower is from Flower Power #3 – Outline stamped in SU Crushed curry and solid image in SU So Saffron. I then die cut 5 PTI birthday words in SU whisper white and once in SU So saffron cs and layered to form the dimensional word “birthday”. I have seen this done a few times and thought I would get really sticky (one of the reasons I hadn’t given it go!) I was pleasantly surprised that I wasn’t any sticker than normal cardmaking and it all came together rather quickly excluding drying time. Not sure if that means I am overly messy or this technique isn’t as messy as I thought it would be. I stamped the word Happy in SU So Saffron from PTI Polka Dot Parage #5. I mounted my card front with borders of SU So Saffron, SU Smoky slate and a small piece of Uniko Studio Digital paper. All this was then added to a Kaisercraft card base and a Kaisercraft pearl added to the top of the “i” in birthday.
Here is another pic
I was busy last weekend putting together my very first digital album. I used SU MDS software and digital papers to put together an album for my Gran. She is now in a home and she can’t have her digital photo frame with all her pics. So I put a few picsI have of her parents/siblings, when Gran was young, her children when they were young and my children together. I used various layouts and didn’t embellish the pages much as the layouts I chose were pretty pic heavy.
Here are a couple of pics
The cover of the album has a photo insert which you can attach so I made up a print which has my Gran’s name (so the album doesn’t get lost!) and added this butterfly. I used a Martha Stewart silicone mold and SU clay coloured when dry with markers attached with glossy accents.
This page shows my mum and her siblings as they were growing up. As I said very simple layouts.
I am still reading Drums of Autumn – I am ploughing on. 800 pages is a lot. This is part of the Outlander series and I have more books to go.
Now must go see how my friend’s dog is – we had a little run in with another friend’s dog on our walk this morning. Friend 1 had to take her dog to the vet.
Happy reading and crafting 🙂
Cheers
Vicki
Just a little update.
My friend’s dog had to have a couple of staples and is home with his human mum.
