Uniko Challenge #12 + Bright Butterflies

Hello

Life has just been busy.

I took my 4 +1 to the school production – “Shout” last week. Great production.  Mr M had his name in the programme for designing the back cover which was also used on the back of the production t-shirts.

I have also been busy with the normal running training, swimming, netball and dancing trips. Mr M and Ms S have kept Mum’s taxi busy.

Any way I really wanted to make another card for the Uniko Challenge – I should just make the cut off time!

I have wanted to try this technique for a while.  I purchased the stencil material and Glitter Frosting paste a while ago and only opened them today.

Jennifer McGuire shows how to colour the paste with ink – jennifermcquireink.com post from 22nd July 2014

Before I started I die cut Uniko Bright Butterflies dies in the stencil material.

Then I mixed PTI Enchanted Evening ink and Glitter Frosting Paste (I picked this up from a craft show) on my craft sheet and added to the stencil.

After I removed the stencil

At this point I left it to dry. Not sure how long it took as I had a school meeting to attend – it was dry when I got home.

Now the finished card.

I added a little shimmer paper along the sides and added to some blue card stock.

Some ABS twine and the sentiment from Uniko Fontiments Birthday to finish.

Sorry for the poor quality photos – taken on my phone at night.

Thanks for stopping

Hope to be back soon

Cheers

Vicki

Edit; On our way to running training at 6.30 the following morning Ms S needed a card for a friend at school. So glad I had this one finished – it has gone with some chocolates for the friend.

Fontiments and Word Bubbles…

Hello

So nice to have a little sun shine the last couple of days.

A friend’s daughter is celebrating her birthday this week.

I am linking this upto the current challenge at Uniko.

I made this card using Uniko Modern Lattice Digital Paper and Uniko Fontiments – Birthday stamp set stamped using Versafine Onyx Black. The speech bubbles were die cut using SU Word Bubbles Framelits from scrap cardstock.

Ms E had another 19th Birthday party this weekend.

I made this card to co ordinate with the clutch bag I made a few weeks ago.

IMG_4739

The card fitted nicely in the clutch along with the pressie (some jewellery).

IMG_4740

The card is made using SU Very Vanilla cardstock with a piece of SU Modern Medley along the side. I added some black twine and layered with black card stock.

The sentiment is stamped in Versafine Onyx black, punched with a rectangle scallop punch, layered with black card stock and popped up with foam tape. I added the flowers die cut from MFT dienamices and a rhinestone added to the centre.

Sharing a work in progress

IMG_4743

So far I have cut several pieces of SU fabric into 3″ squares and pieced them together. I intend to add a white border then a border of the 3″ strips possibly followed by another white border. The backing and the binding are undecided at the moment. I’m planning to see how it grows and what works from my stash.

Hope to be back to share a couple of more things before Easter.

Cheers

Going round in circles…

at

IMG_3902

I used Uniko Background builders Round in Circles stamped using Stampin UP! Old Olive, Smoky Slate, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Gray and PTI Enchanted Evening to create my card front. I stamped the sentiment from Uniko Fontiments Birthday ( I did a little surgery on one of the stamps to get the “your”) in Momento Tuxedo Black.

A little different to most of my other posts lately. I do need to get a few birthday cards ready – I have several birthdays before the jolly man arrives. Earlier today I went window shopping at a Christmas store – the trees and decorations were amazing – some inspiration for some more Christmas cards I think.

Thanks for stopping

IMG_3633

I have used Uniko Round in Circles stamped in SU Melon Mambo along the base of my card front. I die cut 3 butterflies using Uniko butterfly die in glitter paper. The sentiment is from Uniko Fontiments Birthday stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and punched out using SU Artisan Label Punch and layered onto scrap of pink using the same punch.

Some new Butterflies…

Lucky enough to get some crafty time yesterday.

I was inspired by the Uniko Design Team for these cards.

IMG_3474

I used the Bright Butterflies die in one piece and die cut them all in a row. I added some Uniko digital Joyful butterflies paper behind the die cut and some Tangerine Tango co ordinating Stampin UP! cardstock. Popped up with foam tabs. I used the sentiment from Uniko Fontiments birthdays.

IMG_3472

I also used the negative space for this card again popped up with foam tabs. I also used Uniko Flower Power #1, all Occasion Sentiments #1 and Bright butterflies for this card. The ink and cardstock are also Stamin UP! in pumpkin pie. I got the sequins from a local remnant store (a mixed 285g bag) – so I think you may see some more of those too. The girls have sorted some of them into colours for me.

I was very lucky to win this fab prize from Uniko 2013 Sneak peeks. I am so glad to have them.

Lego + Toys + Transport

IMG_3365bThis is my card for the Challenge at The Lollipop Ladies. Lego + Toys.

I used Stampin UP! I dig you stamped in Real Red ink. I made the lego bricks from a square punch with small circles on top.

This weeks sponsor is AnnaBelle Stamps

When Mr M (15) was small we would have the train set set up covering most of the floor with lego buildings and animals too. We have lego from duplo through to the more complex technic.  Haven’t had the lego out for a few months now – although it is currently school holidays – might be time to play. When it comes out we leave it out for a few days – you know it takes a day or so to build everything and at least a day to pack it up.   As for trains and trucks – they don’t tend to get out so much these days.

I am also linking this to the Challenge Oldie but a goodie Challenge – Transport – SU stamp set older than 6 months + the circle punch is very old too!

Happy Birthday Eliza…

????????????????

The card I made for Miss S (13) to take to the party she went to on Saturday night.

At the moment the girls want me to make cards for their friends with the recipients name on it. Once the paper is selected these cards generally go together reasonably quickly and I am using bits from my scrap draw – although it still looks full to me!

I used the alphabet die from Quickutz and the sentiment is from Uniko Fontiments – birthday.

We also included this in Chanelle’s gift. Original pattern included in the book Softies – http://www.whileshenaps.typepad.com Abigail Patner Glasenberg

By all accounts she was very pleased with her bag of Owl inspired gifts.

Happy Monday

Happy Birthday Chanelle!

I have made this for Miss E’s friend who is having an 18th tonight.

You are probably saying to yourself right now there is a lot going on here on this card and tag!  As Chanelle loves owls – owls had to be involved. As for the colour choices – simple they had to match the owl necklace we bought at a chain jewellery store. She has a rather good sense of humour – so we managed to find (a child’s) back pack made of an all over owl print YEAH. We then proceeded to fill it with owl only contents YEAH. I’m sure others observing 3 girls and their mum shop were very entertained. I can’t say choosing a gift for Miss S (13) to take to her party tonight was as much fun.

A couple of birthdays…

Sorry this is a long post. Hope you can bear with me.
IMG_3170

I have made this card for a friend’s husband – apparently he isn’t happy about “the number”. I might be the same when I get there! I used punches to create the angry bird – I was inspired by a something I saw on a forum.

There is a tutorial here  http://stampinwithniki.blogspot.com.au/2011/12/angry-birds-tutorial.html.

I am linking this upto the monthly challenge at the Stamp Spot – heart – (http://thestampspot.blogspot.com.au/) I actually used to heart shapes

http://movingalongwiththetimes.blogspot.com.au/ – punch it out

Another friend shares the same birthday and I made this for her

IMG_3161

I used lots of different sentiment stamps to make the word panel – if I miss naming one please forgive me. I also used some dies to create the flourish and the felt flowers. When I gave this to my friend this morning she couldn’t believe I had individually stamped each word.

and another version of this for Miss A’s godmother

IMG_3157

and after seeing the angry bird I made for the card above one of Miss E’s oldest friends made a comment so I made this tag as a book mark for her.

IMG_3169

I am linking this tag upto the challenge http://www.sarahhurleychallenges.blogspot.com.au/ – anything but a card

Thanks for hanging in there.

Mr M and Miss A have not long arrived home from school. I made them walk today as I have a house full of 13 year old girls! Better go and check the party pies.

Hope you have a great weekend.

Cheers
