Recent makes…

Hello

Just popping in to share a few recent requested card makes for a friend.

An Elsa inspired card I totally CASEd from here. Thanks Lyssa. I did make one modification I used Uniquely creative stitched dies to get the curves of the dress. Those dies aren’t just for landscapes!

I also made my own shimmer spray mixing Isopropyl alcohol and shimmer paint in a spray bottle.

The next couple of cards seem to be frequent repeats!

I did consider not sharing even though they are new makes they are layouts I have used many times before! Funny I don’t really like mass producing – made 10 of one card as an invitation once and that was a struggle! However going back to making a card that seemed to work doesn’t seem to be an issue! Especially if it is for a friend and I can show them a pic before I start.

Do you ever go back and make a card again?

Sadly we were in need of a sympathy card this week.

Once again I have gone for simple white die cuts with liquid pearl centres and a simple sentiment from Avery Elle – stamp and die cut.

I have an outrageously large pile of NBUS to play with before more new play things arrive šŸ™‚ My dilema what to play with first!

In the meantime I plan to do a little reading – Bridgerton the Duke and I – while I continue knitting a Weir for myself.

Thanks for stopping

Cheers

Unstampabelles #111…

Hello

Popping in to share my creation for the current challenge at Unstampabelles here

Add our button if you wish

#111: ADVENTURESĀ –Ā TWISTĀ use something three times
The adventure can be one you are having or someone else has had or will be having…..it is up to you to interpret the theme!
Repetition is the key – three buttons; one word – repeated there times;three different papers or ribbons or die cuts…..whatever is in threes.
We have some excellent inspiration for you

Remember, you can do anything that is paper craft relatedĀ BUT NO STAMPS!

So I’ve gone with the adventure of a hot air balloon ride.

And for the twist I’ve used 3 hot air balloons, 3 clouds and 3 stickers!

Die cuts from SU Up&Away thinlits, stamplorations cutplorations and uniquely creative. Stickers also from Stamplorations. I die cut the largest balloon in fun foam and popped the smallest balloon up with foam tabs to give some extra dimension.

I hope to see you join in the fun at Unstampabelles.

Until next time

Cheers

Requests…

Hello

I am sharing some cards I made recently for my Auntie.Ā  We caught up during the week (on my day off!) for me to give them to her.Ā  I think she was happy.Ā  I also had made some aprons which I shared a few weeks ago.

I think I have used this PTI penquin every year since I purchased it.Ā  I think he is so cute! I teamed this one with snow drifts and a sentiment from SU Holiday Home.

Another favourite is SU Dashing deer with sentiment from Uniko Pure Florals Poinsettia.

Another all time Christmas favourite is baubles.Ā  This was a quick and easy one with SU Holiday Framelits and PTI holiday cheer sentiment.

These are cards are made with some new SU to my stash of stamps and dies.Ā  Every year I say I don’t need any more Christmas stamps or dies however I always seem to add to my collection! I really love this santa and how could I go past cheeky elves.Ā  The tree is from Flourishes and the fireplace is from SU hearth and home.

Now some non-christmas cards

I used SU fable friends coloured with markers.Ā  I personalised the inside with a computer generated phrase.Ā  I have used Uniquely, ME and SSS stitched circle dies.

My aunt also has a few special birthdays coming up so I made the cards above.Ā  I needed to get some help from Ms S to write “moet” as my hand writting isn’t so great! Each one of these birthday cards was like a mini challenge trying to personalise with things in my stash.

On another note I started a new job this week.Ā  I had been trying to find work close to home however even if I got an interview I seemed to be getting overlooked. I saw a position recently both online and in the newspaper so thought why not!Ā  I applied on the Saturday, was called Monday for an interview on the Tuesday and by the end of the week they had offered me the position.Ā  My new position means I catch the train in and out of the city.Ā  The plus is I am getting some steps up walking to/from the station and to/from the workplace.

I am located between Melbourne Museum and Lygon street.Ā  Having an hour for lunch has been nice (can’t remember the last time that happened!).Ā  So far I have visited some shops in Lygon street and the Carlton Gardens.Ā  I can walk to Brunetti’s an iconic cake shop or Koko black a specialist chocolate shop in my lunch time. Now I have walked to these places but have not purchased anything other than a coffee – I am trying to not undo all the good from walking. I am considering looking at other ways of travelling perhaps parking at the Museum as it is around the block and will only cost me $3 more (+petrol) per day however it could possible save me an hour travel time.Ā  Handy when I have after school activities with Ms A.Ā  I have tried to use the travel time to check emails etc however I found my phone battery died really fast.

Enough of my waffle.Ā  I need to go dig over the veggie garden and start reading the new book by Margaret Attwood – The Testaments before it is due back at the library.Ā  Another good thing about train travel is I get to read on the train.

Thanks for stopping and listening to my waffle

Cheers

Santa in the Sun…

Hello

The other day I got to have a little crafty time.

I was able to play with some new stamps and dies.

I am linking my creations up to the current challenge at Crafting with Dragonflies here – Non traditional Christmas Colours

I think my cards fit the brief.

Crafting With Dragonflies Challenge Blog

Recently I was lucky enough to have a SSS voucher which I used to put towards an order. In that order I purchased Clearly Besotted Santa in the Sun stamp set (and some other goodies I haven’t used yet).Ā  This set I think is very suitable for an Aussie Christmas.

With my first play with this set I stamped images onto Xpress blending cardstock and coloured with alcohol markers, I then fussy cut them out.

For this card I created a background with DO inks and sprayed some water before adding the waves and the white wave caps – more fussy cutting.Ā  The wave caps are finished with a little wink of stella.Ā  Sentiment is from the same set.Ā  Surfing Santa was popped up with foam tabs.

This one is a little simpler.Ā  Santa is in the pool with his drink and a ball floating by.Ā  I used a SU ribbon punch to create a border and a piece of adhesive backed paper (this has been in my stash for a while!) to create my pool. The sentiment is from ME Winter Wonderland. Santa is again popped up with foam tabs.

I really like the texture.Ā

My last little Santa is the Selfie Santa.

Ā I created the rolling hills using Uniquely creative dies (picked up from a craft show) and some scrap CS.Ā  The suitcase was added then again Santa was popped up with foam tabs.Ā

In case you are wondering I used some embossing paste to create Santa’s beard and fur trim to his hat.Ā  I have flocking but never seem to get the result I am after, the embossing paste worked well however I did have to work quickly before it dried.

Thanks for stopping

Cheers
