One last Christmas Card…

Hello

I have one last Christmas Card to share and I am linking it up to the challenge at Scrapbook boutique – click on the pic to take you there

I am also linking up to the Challenge at Unstampabelles – Southern Hemisphere Christmas

Here is my card

This is for Ms 15’s boyfriend. The instructions were to be not to “girly”.  I was inspired by these toppers here. Thank you Judy. I have used the ornament punch, oval punches, a flower punch and a small circle punch. I embossed with a swirly embossing folder and a square lattice folder. The paper used was from my scraps. The finished card is 10cm square.

Before I go I want to share a pic of our Melaluca tree which sadly was removed from our yard yesterday.

This pic was taken from the upstairs window of my house looking over the yard. When Mr 16 and Ms 15 were smaller they would climb the tree and slide down the roof of the car port back into the tree. My only request was they didn’t fall! So for the last few days Ms 15 and Ms 10 have spent a lot of time climbing the tree and sliding down the roof to say good bye. We estimate the tree to be at least 40-45 years old (we have lived here for 22 years and the tree was well established before then). The tree had to be removed as the neighbour had got advice it was damaging her house. We will be replanting – just not another melaluca.

I didn’t realise until I read this post here that these trees were known as Summer snow. Thanks Susan.

This will be my last post before the Jolly Fat man pays a visit.

If you celebrate the Christmas Season I wish you a Merry Christmas and a big thank you to all who follow and comment regularly.

Cheers

Vicki

  1. Love how you made the Santa with various punches Vicki! The young man will be chuffed when he receives it. Love that you shared the tree photo and all the memories associated with it – so many things around us evoke happy memories, if we’re lucky! Thank you too, for all your positive comments on my blog – I love reading them! Have a very happy Christmas, and very best wishes for a wonderful 2015!

  2. What a fun ‘non girly’ Christmas card. It must be so sad to see such a beautiful tree go, hope you can find something just as beautiful to replace it.
Hugs and fun for Christmas to you and your family, Tx.

  3. I love your Santa card. So cute. That Melaleuca looks as big as ours. I am waiting for the day it falls over! Ours I mean. They are so beautiful but shallow rooted. Have a great day Thursday. Thanks for playing along with us at Unstampabelles.

  4. Your Santa is a textured delight, Vicki! I’m sorry about the loss of the beautiful tree! I’m sure your family Christmas was wonderful! I wish you all the best in the new year!! Hugs, Darnell
