Playing with 3 x 3 …

Hello

Today marks the first day everyone is back at school/work/uni for the year.  I know it is March.

So what did I do?  I played  helped out  in the art room for Ms A.  We went outside for about an hour and sketched what we could see then returned to the art room to add tones and colours.  Some of these kids can draw and clearly it isn’t for some of the others. I picked up a tip or two from the art teacher – you know there is a reason I like stamps, dies and punches! I really can’t draw.

Anyway I am back home now and thought I would share a few things I put together over the weekend.

I am linking up to the following challenges

NBUS #6 – Never before used schtuff here – today mine are SU No Bones about it, IBS Small Fancy Labels 1 (sentiment) and SU Flowering Fields

Never-Before-Used-Schtuff (Stamps, Dies, EFs, etc.)

Seize the birthday here – most of the 3 x 3 cards I created are good for a birthday

Our Badge

All cards are 3 x 3.  I plan to make them into little sets.

3 x 3 cards male (640x479)

In this group I have used NBUS SU No Bones about it, sentiment from Jane’s Doodles Doodle Flowers II, PTI World’s Greatest plus SU word window & modern label punches.

3 x 3 cards (640x359)

In this group I have used PTI birthday tags and Tremendous treats stamp sets.  I coloured the hot air balloon with alcohol markers and the balloons with intense pencils. I have also used circle punches.

3 x 3 cards girlie (640x632)

In the final grouping I have used Mama Elephant Waterblooms and IBS NBUS Small Fancy labels 1 sentiment. The other stamps used are from PTI Tremendous treats, NBUS SU Flowering Fields and the “a little something for a little someone” is also SU but I don’t know where from! I again used circle punches, SU Itty bitty accents punch, ME Sew fancy dies and SU Tags & Labels framelits.  The cake is coloured with alcohol markers and has a wink of stella on the candles. Whilst the Flowers were stamped by colouring the stamp with a marker and then adding colour from the ink pad with a water brush.

I also used some pattern paper by adding a layered sentiment.  I must make up some normal size cards to use some of the pattern paper I have been holding on to.

Thanks for stopping

Cheers

Vicki

  1. What a fab collection of cards here! Love those little 3×3 sets – I think I’ll have to succumb to the No Bones About It stamp set – so cute! The flower cards in the last group are gorgeous – I really must get more of mine made – still not in our new home, so a bit topsy turvy at the moment:) Thanks for your inspiration Vicki!

    1. Thanks Ann. I ummed and arred for a while before succumbing! I figure it can be used for big and little people. I bet you can’t wait to get all your goodies out again to play.

  2. What a brilliant collection of cards. I need to do this, make some sets. Really like the idea of the 3x 3 cards Vicki. Cant believe how much you achieved over the weekend.

    1. Thanks Aileen. Very little sport! and not much housework 🙂 I should have shared a pic of my work space after I finished – stamps, punches, dies, markers and pencils everywhere!

  3. Amazing! You have been so busy … and whilst these look q&e … they are so eye catching and detailed! Loving the cheerful colours! Hugs xx
